Red Coach Inn & Suites HUTCHINSON KS in Reno County

Popular place for a meal in Niagara Falls .We had dinner last night . Food was ok . Service was good . But the place needs some new upholstery on chairs and a fresh carpet. The current one is really worn out . This is quite an old classic place , but doesn’t have to have that worn out look .

We went for dinner and did not stay there. Great location, history and atmosphere. The service was mediocre at best. My drink ,Martini tasted like dishwater. My French Onion Soup was good my wifes soup of the day was good but bland. Pork Normandy entree was covered in gelatinous stuff(?with lumps. ( I could not finish it )My wifes Chicken French dish was again bland. The chef needs to get into into the new millennium and update the menu. The bartender needs to take a mixology course.

We spend a couple of wonderful days at the Red Coach Inn. Weather was beautiful and the accommodations and staff at the Red Coach Inn were excellent! The suite was clean and nicely decorated. We had trouble getting our fireplace to light and the staff went out of their way to get it taken care of and apologized multiple times for any inconvenience it caused us. The staff seemed genuine in wanting us to have an exceptional experience at the Red Coach Inn. We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and the food was very good. Another great feature of this place is you are right across the street from the Falls. You can walk to everything and we never moved our car until we were ready to leave. One piece of advice for check-in would be to park out front and go in to get your room information. Some rooms are only accessible from the front or back of the building and there is no way through the interior of the building. The Inn parking lot is in the back of the building and our room was in front and it was raining when we arrived. Otherwise, our stay was exceptional.

Stellar stay at this hotel. The Tasner suite has a gorgeous view of the rapids, fireplace and whirlpool tub. We had dinner and the complimentary breakfast at the inn and the food was so incredible we are still talking about it! The service was excellent. If we ever come back to the falls we will hands down stay here.

To be clear, we did not stay at the hotel, but we had a fantastic lunch. We sat outside on a gorgeous fall day with the rapids rumbling right across the street. The Inn is so beautiful. A classically elegant throwback to another era. Dayle, our server, was great. Our salads and sandwiches were made to perfection and the selection of local brews was top-notch. I would come back to the Red Coach Inn any time. A true delight.

I did not stay at the Red Coach Inn so this review is only about the restaurant.The food here was definitely tasty but I had a difficult time getting past the fact that the dining room did not appear clean. In fact the salt shaker was greasy and sticky! The dining took itself has an almost medieval decor to it. It could be very nice if theyd clean the chandeliers and salt/pepper shakers. A difficult restaurant to review because the food was good but the atmosphere wasnt clean.

Brought a few out of town business colleagues to the Red Coach for breakfast. For $15 the “traditional breakfast” includes Two Eggs, Two Sausage Links, Two Bacon Strips, Home Fried Potatoes and Toast. First off the price is nearly double of any comparable restaurant that offers a basic breakfast. 2 tiny eggs, too runny, asked for over-medium. Undercooked and completely unseasoned potato, cut into big cubes, just boiled and cut up, not fried at all, no onions. Soggy, thin bacon that I folded into a little bite sized piece of bacon chewing gum. One tiny piece of rye toast, barely toasted. Embarrassing disappointment. Wouldn’t return ever.How do you charge someone $15 for this and feel good about it? Fry the potatoes, crisp the bacon, give me 2 pieces of toast… basics.Meeting went well though.

Food and service was good and atmosphere was historically interesting. The bread was wonderful and came with oil and vinegar anf regular and strawberry butter. Turnoff was the awkward way the waitress had to loom until you took care of the bill on her handset.

We enjoyed our unique and beautiful room, by the falls, very much!! The walk to view the falls was nominal, as was the walk out to dinner that evening. Our space was clean and well taken care of, offering a variety of the usual items to make ones stay comfortable. We walked to the restaurant to get breakfast before we left, it was excellent!! We would definitely look to stay here again the next time we come to see the falls!! Thank you for such a lovely experience :O)

Entered there with high expectations after checking up the menu’s at the door (uploaded for reference). Unfortunately after being welcomed by the first server and asked to wait for seating a second one came (or was it the chef!and denies service. There were already around 3 empty table and one of them suitable to our party size of 8, but they claimed that they serve only hotel residents, which is not true as per the other reviews here.

Great place to stay to see the falls. Room was clean and had everything we needed. The front desk check in was easy and the guy was very nice. We had dinner that night. Good but not great. Free breakfast the next morning was very good. If you want to be within walking distance to the American falls this is the place to stay.

We ate a late lunch in their restaurant. Fantastic food and great view of the falls from the patio! Carrot cake was amazing, and the fish sandwich was a beautiful piece of haddock with great slaw and fries. French onion soup was great, too.

This is where you want to stay on the US side of the falls. Romantic spot, historical, great Tudor style architecture, good food (excellent breakfast included!and a short walk to the falls. Niagara falls state park basically across the street, great for evening strolls. The us side is more low key and laid back and this place fits perfectly. Would definitely recommend a stay here

Charming hotel. Delicious breakfast included. Somerset Room had view of Park and rapids.Bathrobes were the nicest ever. Staff very friendly.

Sat there for 25 minutes while servers walked around and never came to the table. I’d love to comment on the food but we never had any. Walked out without anyone saying a word. Saw waitresses standing around doing nothing on the way out. Interestingly enough passed a couple complaining about service on the way out.

Their restaurant is a definite recommend!! Everything was so delicious and perfectly cooked. Service is great too. Price is reasonable but if you’re staying breakfast is complementary(single entrée only). Though we had a bad experience in stay as we found pants lying behind the bedroom door from previous customer probably and The parking is limited and located right behind the building, Location is unbeatable- Niagara River is right across the street and all spots are walkable.

We stayed at the Red Coach Inn during the weekend of September 9-11, 2022. Our room was the Cambridge Suite. Simply put, if what youre asking are views and convenience, THERE IS NOT a better located hotel than this one on the American side of the falls. The hotel is two blocks away from the main street and right across the street from the break of the falls. If your room has views to the street, you can actually see the river breaking into the beginning of the falls, and thats just wonderful. Our stay was great. The rooms are so unique, and they are VERY clean and well maintained. Our package included breakfast, free parking, and the newspaper. Everything worked out really well. We checked-in very late (around 11pmbut that was a complete non-issue. The staff person was very nice and she seemed so happy to help. All room services worked as they were supposed to. The suite and bedrooms were very clean. Breakfast food was tasty and served in good portions. One minus about the breakfast menu is the very few (only 3of sweet options and absolute lack of fresh fruit. Maybe a pastry option and some fruits would be a good addition to the menu. Staff at the restaurant are super nice and really smile and are happy to chat with the guests as well. We will definitely stay again at this place.

This inn was in the perfect location! We were able to walk to all the sites! The staff was helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the Essex room doesnt look anything like the photos online since the remodel. The room was very basic. We didnt come for a great room, so this hotel still gets 5 stars for the location and service!

Very clean and friendly staff! Loved the charming decor and feel. Food was amazing and the location was perfect for the Falls- felt very safe walking at night near the waterfront and immediate surrounding restaurants.

We ate here for my wife’s birthday. The photos online looked great and the location perfect so thought we’d try it. I was greeted initially by an unfriendly waitress who showed us to our seat outside, and we waited to be served. A much friendlier waiter came over to take our order, so we ordered the salmon and fillet steak. The waiter overallseemed inexperienced, spilling some wine on the table as he poured it, saying sorry and then not bothering to come to clean up his mess…but I could tell he was actually trying so didn’t mind him too much. The food was variable…my wife’s salmon was very over cooked and very dry, vegetables and potatoes very bland and tasteless. My steak in contrast was very good, but again, vegetables and potato very bland and disappointing. The waiter did quickly check as we finished our meal whether everything was OK to which we replied honestly and he didn’t really seem to take on board what we said. When presented with the bill, we reiterated that the food was not up to the standard we expected and were pleased that after consulting with someone, took the salmon off the bill. This is not a cheap restaurant, and we expected high standards which were not met. Had we not been more insistent, we would’ve been paying a high price for it but at least were left feeling that our dissatisfaction had been acknowledged. The location is great and the food could be good but some aspects certainly need improvement.

I am very late with my review, but we stayed last November for 2 nights and had a wonderful time!We stayed in the Nottingham Suite, which was beautiful, large, private, and had a view of the rapids. When we entered the room we were greeted by Hadyn playing on a small sound system, and the timing of that and the sun setting out the front window couldnt have been more magical.The bathroom was large and clean, the bedroom was also large with a lovely comfortable bed, large two-person jacuzzi, and even the view from the rear of the suite was a good one. The sitting room was comfortable and large (again ... the view!and the kitchenette had everything we needed.This is the closest hotel to the falls on the American side, and SO worth it. All night we could hear the rapids and it completely lulls you to sleep. I sat and looked out the window quite a bit during out stay.Check-in was easy, the front desk staff at both check-in and check-out was professional, accommodating, and personable.Breakfast both mornings was SO GOOD. The waitstaff were very kind and ready to help with anything we needed. We didnt need to ask for coffee refills, and any questions we had about our meal were answered without a glitch.I think the photos will tell you all you need to know about this particular suite and the inn in general. For "The Office" fans (we are huge nerdsyes, this is the inn where Jim and Pam are married - but only the outside of the inn is shown in the series. I feel the inside is more beautiful than the inn that was used in the show - so PLEASE dont let that deter you, this inn is a MUST STAY.I will most definitely be back someday soon!

The Front Desk and restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and such a great selection! The hotel location provides the best/easiest access to Falls activities and view of the rapids from the restaurant cant be beat.

The food was superb and our waiter Charlie was awesome and very attentive. Drinks food atmosphere and service I give a 10☆s. Prices not to bad super awesome. Wonderful experience!

Didnt stay at the Hotel but the restaurant leaves plenty to be desired. I had the chicken french, simple dish it was just ok, lots of oil just pooled in the dish. The crab cakes are very good and worth their price. The Coconut shrimp were way overcooked and ridiculously overpriced for 4 shrimp. The worst value of all was the scallops Florentine. 6 regular, not jumbo, scallops over a flavorless pasta for $42. To top it off the service was 100% not personable. It took almost 15 minutes before we were even acknowledged,The server never introduced himself and did just ok, there was a long pauses between service except for when he wanted me to pay, literally hovered at the table. Overall I wouldnt say it was not a great experience, nominal service, overpriced sub-par food, and the ambience and decor were dinghy.

We did not stay at this hotel but we did pop in for a late lunch after spending most of the day at the Falls. To give them the benefit of the doubt, we did walk in at an odd time. The guy at the host stand said he wasn’t sure if it was still lunch or if it was dinner. He went to find out. Told us lunch. We asked for a table outside because it was a stunningly beautiful day - and he said they didn’t have a table outside that was big enough for five people. So we sat inside. They were not busy - and less than 10 minutes after we were seated a party of six came in, asked for a table outside and were immediately seated out there. (No one had left in the meantime and even if they had… we would have waited…)Our server was fantastic- she was friendly, hilarious and checked in often. She was, however, surprised we had lunch menues - but took or order from them anyway. The food was very good. Not super memorable (I’m writing this after we got home from our trip and I can’t remember what I hadbut it was good. When we left we walked by the outdoor seating where there were a number of parties enjoying the gorgeous day - and it was not full. Super annoying.

Rooms were cute and easy access food in the restaurant was a bit pricy for what it was. The jetted tub in my room did not have a plug. But overall a cute and cozy hotel.

I really enjoyed staying here. The path to the Falls is just across the street. The free shuttle bus has a stop right out front. Staff are very friendly and helpful, except at arrival. The two young personnel thought what was on the phone was more important than giving their customer complete attention. Easy to get to, the parking was in weird spot and I didnt see any signs for it. I didnt like that my room was on the opposite side of parking. Theres on option to pay for street parking on that side. $$$$. Glad I was on the first floor. As stated on their website, there are no elevators. I still had several steps to go up with luggage though before reaching my door. No one offered to help me take luggage from my car around. I am an older woman. Looks are deceiving, courtesy to ask everyone. The food at the restaurant was delicious and staff continued to check on me. The room overall was presentable, but certainly not detailed. Always room for improvement. Found a can behind nightstand. Hairs and dust, mainly in bathroom. Window sill was dirty and had bugs. The fragrances in the room and bed sheets were a bit strong and irritating. The Bose was on when I arrived and I did not like that. Being on the first floor I could hear the children above me running around. I checked out very early and was offered a bagel to go, I thought this was great!

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. We walked in and we were immediately charmed by the elegance of the dining room.Our waitress was wonderful and made sure we were well taken care of during our meal. The food was absolutely delicious. We had just arrived at the falls and it was a wonderful first meal.If you are looking for delicious food while surrounded by charming excellence we highly recommend the Red Coach Inm. And it is just steps to the falls when you are done.

The room was otherwise clean, the location excellent, and a few team members really stuck out as phenomenal. Towels? Don’t get me started.

We had a brand new waiter, while not normally an issue, that caused us to have a subpar experience. This is the 3rd time in 35 years that I have been and unfortunately not the best. Great food, great portions. Still recommending for sure.

Great location and interesting building. Food was on par with what one would expect from a mid-level diner. Appetizers were delivered to the wrong table, then only one was replaced. Filet over cooked and had the texture of pot roast, and was completely smothered in congealed sauce that tasted canned. All meals were generally over cooked and lacked flavor, we would not return.

This a great bed and breakfast. Place opened in 1923! Love the history. Service great, even though short staffed. Restaurant had excellent food for breakfast and dinner! Will recommend and hope to return. Thank you!

I have been to the restaurant 3 times in the last 10 years. unfortunately, I think some of their food items have gotten worse. French onion soup lacked onions and very little cheese on top. but the crab cakes and pork tenderloins were still excellent. Table bread was poor quality.

Kind of disappointing. Stayed in the Dorset room. It is small but equipped with fridge and microwave. Decor is way to heavy and bulky due to small room size. Furniture is outdated,.not antique but outdated. In my opinion this property is overpriced by about 35%. Restaurant has a dark feel to it but that is the ambience it wanted to achieve. Patio is nice. Food was exceptional and service was great.

Wonderful stay! Fantastic location, close to falls, walkable to state park, and all attractions. Beautiful vintage decor. Super clean. Kind/friendly/helpful staff. Delicious food. Dont hesitate booking. Better than all the giant conglomerate hotels in the area.

I visited this restaurant and was disappointed in regards to the parking and staff. The parking is limited, such so that I could not park my electric car in the charging station. When expressing my concern to the hotel staff about the fuel powered car in the charging station they stated the fuel powered car was allowed to be parked in the spot so I could not charge. Upon being seated, the hostess was rude. The waitress was short in her interactions and did not check to see if anything else was needed. Overall, the experience was less than enjoyable.

I had a great stay at red coach inn. Absolutely loved the breakfast to start the day with. Just one small matter, the sheets under the comforter felt dusty to me. Everything else was great. Would visit this hotel again.

We had the London room and parking was just outside our door if someone didnt beat us to it.This is an older building bed and breakfast that has been kept up to date with improvements over the years. The room we had was up to date with whirlpool tub, nice sink, and amenities including hairdryer, vacuumin closet, bathrobes, small refrigerator/freezer, safe, wifi, andspring water in fridge. The bed was soft and pillows the same. A couch and bench and table are in room for sitting and dining or just to relax,, a small desk to do work at if need be.The lighting was little to be desired but most hotels are. Were not complaining we just have eye sight issues and desire more lighting. Everything was nice. The breakfast was wonderful, being able to decide from a menu as to what we wanted to eat each morning and included as part if our room price. The best part was having parking in back of the hotel that was free or included as part of our room, to where we could just walk to the state park that was just across the road. The rapids to the falls are just across the road from the bed and breakfast and you can hear them while eating your breakfast in the dining room or outside in their dining area. So altogether it was good.

Maybe we made the wrong food selection, I was not happy at all. The restaurant is nice you have the option to eat inside or outside. Its very near of the rapids. But like I said the good was not really good. I heard about the good breakfast maybe for the next time.

What was good - the food , the breakfast especially waitresses were awesome. We had five meals they were all fantastic , my wife and I enjoyed all of it. Food was A+What was not so goodHoneymoon package we were expecting not What was delivered. The wine tasting was a town 25 miles away that you could only get through ride share which was about $120. The winery itself just wasnt good. We got the basic package with the honeymoon package that we could have gotten for 9 bucks a person. There was an overall lack of wowing either of us with amenitiesThere was also no shuttle. Its weird to spend almost 400 a night on a hotel and have to find a taxi.They also did construction on the next room over so there was work equipment table saws, trash bags sawdust etc... our room. They did offer a solution but only after several hours .No room service and you had to fill out a form to get things for your room and drop it off. It took us five hours to get toilet paper.This was a 3.75 star rating only because of the jacuzzi in the unit and the food and wait Staff was good. Otherwise there are areas here. I get covid affects stuff but as a hotel in one I f the top honeymoon locations in the country you as a business should be STRIVING and bending over backwards for people doing their honeymoon with you all. It was weird to at multiple points feel like no one gave a ____.

We ate at the restaurant, and didnt stay at the hotel. The food was excellent and fairly priced. Very attentive and friendly staff. Great number of dessert items as well. We walked, so I cant speak to the parking lot. Very close to the entrance to the falls. You can easily get to the falls and walk off dinner.

It was amazing to spend our honeymoon there. Also the Oxford suite was very nice and the food was delicious. I love the proximity to Niagara Falls and the park. It was like walking back in history. The room was lovely and we loved it!

I rated this establishment strictly on the restaurant and its proximity to the Falls. The food was good but I sent my tea back because it didnt taste like tea. It was dark like coke. The lodging facility was extremely disappointing. For this lodging rate you dont expect to see dark spots on the carpet and spots on the comforter. I understand historical but please update. I didnt sleep well because all I wondered was if the bed linens were clean because of the comforter.

I spent my honeymoon reception with my new bride. It was our first time to truly experience the falls. It is such a shame that the once renown honeymoon capital of the world has lost the once shining luster it once was.My bride Michelle and I had the utmost pleasure of spending a week experiencing a true wonder of the world.We had our wedding reception at one of the oldest and more elegant inns and restaurant of all times. It still today projects the same class and elegance to go along with the natural beauty of the falls.My wife and I were swept away in the moment even though it was just the 2 of us in our party it seemed as if the whole restaurant was our party. We even got up and danced.The waitress and staff went out of their way to help make the most special dining experience ever. (The surf and turf is awesome)A definite must do while visiting. It will bring you back to a day where traditional elegance meets natural beauty. A perfect recipe, and a perfect place to fall in love.

Just ate at restaurant. VERY nice place inside. Ordered a Bourbon mule. I think there was zero alcohol in it. Crab cake app was 95% bread and peppers. Pork entree was over cooked good thing the mushroom gravy was there.

We didnt stay at the hotel. We ate at the restaurant. Our waitress was wonderful. However, the food was horrible with the exception of my pasta. Meatloaf looked however, it tasted like cardboard, wings had no seasoning, the haddock came out overcooked on the outside with the inside breading undercooked. Fries were overcooked. Looks like oil needs to be changed. Just very disappointed. The waitress tried to get the manager to come over, but she refused. Poor management.

Very clean, comfortable, and amazing breakfast, which was included with our stay. We ate dinner there as well one night, and never had a bad meal. You can’t beat the distance from Niagara Falls! We walked across the street to visit in the evening at dusk to see the Falls lit up - mesmerizing!

Literally the best place to stay in Niagara falls. hands down. You are right next to the river. The restaurant food is divine. The bar and bartender will leave you in delight. The atmosphere is very laid back and welcoming. The service is so top notch. Some rooms renovated, it is a historical site so they have preserved so much. Stunning 😍

Restaurant only. We were not guest of the inn, just stopped by for lunch. It was delicious! Tiffany was our server and she was adorable! Service was great! My mom and I ordered the crab cakes, French onion soup, shrimp cocktail, and pear lakes salad with salmon. Everything had great flavor and the seafood was fresh tasting. Would highly recommend the restaurant!

Our room was directly across the street from the rapids and we could see and hear the river with the window open. The room was beautiful, the bed comfortable and the staff was very attentive and wanted us to have a great time. The tour package offered by the hotel was excellent and we enjoyed it all very much. The breakfast included with each nights stay was good and we had a wonderful stay.
