Been going here since I was a kid. First time back in about 15 years and it was fantastic. The guided cave tour was awesome for my young kids, the hatchery was a blast and the campground was amazingly maintained and clean. Everything went spectacularly and we had such a fun time. I always recommend this to.anyone looking for a wonderful family weekend. Plus- HOT SHOWERS all the time! Who can beat that at a campground????

Ive been coming here for over 60 years. The park has grown, and its a wonderful place to visit, and fish for trout. We were lucky to see the Ozarks this fall as the leaves are changing. Beautiful!!

Havent been there in decades and it has changed a lot. But the old part of the park is pretty much the same. The park staff was friendly as was the restaurant staff. Definitely worth a visit even if only for a couple of hours like my visit.

Ive never been to a fish hatchery and this park has an amazing one! Just fascinating! Its a beautiful, manicured park with large sites and easy to maneuver big rigs of 40 ft. Great park office to get your fishing license and gear at. Still plenty of people fishing in 50 degree temps so I imagine summer is crazy here. We will return in the fall again. Its so pretty here!

Great trout fishing, must have a state fishing license and a daily trout tag. Their is a walkway that lets you get up to the cave below the bluff where the spring feeds the lake that holds "huge" trout. You can even walk around the hatchery that has holding ponds with trout in various growth stages. Theres a Nature Center with interesting information on local fuana and flora. The trails are fantastic with easy, moderate and difficult. Theres even campsites for overnight stays to ensure you have plenty of time to enjoy all this park has to offer. DO IT!!!

Oh!! This place is wonderful!! The water is so clear, cold and refreshing on hot, summer days!! It was great seeing all of the trout in the river. Several people were fly fishing and being very successful. The park was easy to find and very clean. I highly recommend it!!

After talking to other fishermen I had a lot of fun catching trout. This was some of the best fishing I have ever had. Would highly recommend for novice all the way up to advanced fishermen.

The water from the huge spring feeds both River and Hatchery. Clever use of the huge spring water flows. Did I mention the big trout? Both granddaddy sized above the Hatchery, all different sizes in a hatchery tanks and river. Did I mention the clear, cold spring water? Swimming area, too. Theres even a listening area to hear the roaring.... Wait for it..... River!

We tent camped here for 2 weeks. Campground 1 is quiet and mostly shaded with strong hot showers. Campground 2 showers are not so great but they get the job done. Also not many shaded sites so plan accordingly. We hiked all the trails and they were easy and beautiful. We even saw a bald eagle pair every evening.

We had a great time camping, fishing and just relaxing. Campsite were very clean and spacious. BBQ grills are integrated into the fire rings. Dogs are welcome but need to remain on a leash or tether. There are plenty of places to lounge or swim in the river without interfering with the fishermen.

Amazing place to hike, picnic, and learn a bit about wild life. On some of the trails they have information on the local wild life. The trails range from easy to difficult, so they have something for everyone. Our daughters school also did a field trip here for the hatchery and nature center. The guides were very professional and informative, when we went to feed the dish they gave the class a huge bucket of fish food and the kids loved it. After they had many pavilions for us to pick from for lunch, they were very clean and had plenty of tables for us. They had bathrooms scattered across the whole park so it was always easy to get to a restroom when needed, they were also clean and well stocked with toilet paper. Also they obviously have trout fishing during the season, with many different spots to choose from. Each area has a set of rules for what you can use, they have signs posted with the rules for you to see. Make sure you have your fishing license and trout tag for the park. Over all this is one of my familys favorite places to visit threw out the years.

Day tag for trout was only $4 and you could keep 4 trout per person. The hatchery was really cool and the trails fun. My husband enjoyed fishing and there were plenty of trout to try and catch. Camping was amazing. We stayed at spot 24 in campsite 1 which was right by the water. Wifi is free and reaches throughout most of the campsites. We had a wonderful time.

10 out of 10 would recommend. Camping, fishing and hiking. Loved the hiking, wish I had more time to do all the trails though. If you have younger children, be advised after spots on the trails have sharp inclines that might be hard for them.

We had a lovely time. We grilled out at a picnic spot and it was wonderful. We went hiking and did the Devil Kitchens Trail. It was a nice length to do in an afternoon. We went on a Saturday and the park was pretty crowded.

Great place to fish for trout. Fun for all ages and skill levels. Picnic tables, charcoal grills, jungle gym for kids to play on available. Stop in at the park store, get your Missouri fishing license and tag for the day then find a spot and enjoy. Certain areas are designated as catch and release or fly fishing 🎣 only. Signs are clearly posted. You can even visit the hatchery.Camping 🏕 ⛺️ spots and cabins available for rent. Clean fish 🐟 cleaning stations. This park can get very busy and sometimes crowded.

Great place to trout fish, camp and much more!. I have been camping here for the last 40 years and the park just gets better every year. There are many things to do other then fish like swimming, hiking, viewing nature ect. There is ATV and mountain bike trails nearby in the state forest. The camp sights are outstanding and always clean with fantastic camp host. This place is definitely a hidden gem! Make sure to visit the museum in Cassville to check out the history of the area.Free Wi-Fi is available in all 3 campgrounds. The showers are fantastic! Every shower is in its own private room and is big enough for an adult and several children plus it has a bench and a area to hang clothes that is out of the way of the water. There is a laundry room as well. Very convenient after fishing all day. There is a state park store in the park with everything you need for your visit including you daily tag and license.Make sure and visit Tims fly shop up the hill to the north for current fishing conditions and lure recommendations from the local pro. He has everything needed to make your fishing trip complete and then some.If you find this review to be helpful please give me a thumbs up 👍

Has nice trails! Did the fire tower trail and liked it, though you have to cross the road twice during the hike. Campground looked like a very famous one looking at the number of visitors, though we didnt camp there. Fall was just setting in, weather was perfect to get some hiking miles done!

Ive been coming here and camping for over 20 years. Really nice campground always full of nice folks, and great trout fishing. There are lots of hiking trails and sights to see. Big hatchery you can go see the fish in the raceways and feed them if u bring some quarters for the feed machines. Theres a store here with anything fishing related u need as well as some drinks and snacks. By campground 3 is a little nature center where you can read about the local wildlife and the spring.

A beautiful treasure, if you’re driving through on a road d trip, put this on your agenda. They offer daily licenses for fishing, so if you’re a fisherman take your gear. They also have a spot you can take a dip to cool off. The pictures don’t do this place any justice.

Roaring River State Park is an excellent place to camp, fish, hike and just enjoy nature. We typically stay in campground 1 or 2. Both are very well maintained. The campground bathrooms are always clean. The river is super clear and refreshing. The Dry Creek swimming hole is a great place to take a dip on a hot day. Their hiking trails are well maintained and are a great way to spend the morning. The other big bonus of camping at Roaring River is the great Wi-Fi. We have AT&T and don’t get mobile service in the park, but we are able to make FaceTime calls because of the free Wi-Fi. I was also able to work a few days during our last camping trip. The Wi-Fi worked great for my zoom meetings!

A fun place! Used to come visit as a kid. Lots of improvements over the years. Still dumb people who dont follow the rules and fish with illegal bait/lures up and down the stream. Mostly still find people who are respectful and law-abiding. Campgrounds are great and fishing was great too. Beautiful water that will always bring back good memories for me.

Great park. This place is huge. There are 3 campgrounds, a nature center, a restaurant/lodge and a park store. Marc at the entry station was extremely friendly and helpful. This park does not have water hookup at your site, so you will need to fill up as you enter the park. There is a fresh water spigot at the dump station to campground 1 as well as many places throughout. Our pad site was very level and it appeared all the others were as well. We felt the spacing was closer than some parks, but definitely not terrible. We were able to get 4 TV channels with our antenna, but none came in clear enough to watch. There was great WiFi reception at our site, so we were able to stream easily with our smart TV. Phone reception and data was also very good. We walked every trail except the Fire Tower trail. Pibern has some steep steps, lots of spider webs and a narrow walkway. Devil’s Kitchen is wonderful with lots of beautiful rock formations and very few spiders. There are some steep steps, but not difficult for average hikers. Deer Leap is a fantastic hike up lots of steps to an awesome overlook of the fish hatchery. It’s a tough climb, but well worth it. The wooden walkway is especially nice. River Trail is the easiest walk in the park. It’s a lovely and cool walk along the river to the amphitheater. The CCC built this trail originally and it remains a beautiful trail. Eagle’s Nest has beautiful scenery on the trail, however there are very steep climbs with loose gravel. Part of this trail is on the service road, which we found extremely difficult to walk on as it has large loose gravel and is very steep. You should probably be an experienced hiker to tackle this trail. The final trail we did was Spring House. It’s a moderately easy trail and very short. The view is excellent and it’s easily reached from the restaurant parking lot. It only took us 17 minutes to complete. The restaurant was open and prices appeared to be very good for their offerings, however we did not eat here, so I cannot comment on the fare. Overall great park. We would definitely recommend.

Great park with fishing camping and hiking. Fishing is great for the first 15-30 mins. Stocked trout are shy after they get the first hook in them. Great hiking trails dont forget the water. State park has a general store with outrageous prices on just about everything, so come stocked up.

Our first time there, we had such a wonderful time!!! Everyone is so friendly!! There are a few rules, so I advised reading up on them first and pay close attention to the signs so you dont get into trouble 😏. They only take cash. They fill it full of fish nightly and it was exciting to watch. Very child friendly!!! We will definitely be going back!!! Its so beautiful!😍

Roaring River State Park is an excellent adventure for you and your family. The local trails that allow you to visit the “Devil’s Kitchen” is a great experience for both novice and experienced hikers. The trout fishing here is absolutely extraordinary, with rock-bottom streams you were able to see the crystal clear water all the way to the bottom. There is also a hatchery that even allows you to pay a quarter to feed the fish which is both a thrilling and funny experience. One that both adults and children can enjoy. For a quarter you get a decent sized handful of fish food which the trout seem to enjoy greatly. This is one place that I would recommend if you were either passing through or looking for a good spot to stop is an excellent choice that I think you’ll enjoy.
