Set an appointment for the next day and Stephen, the plumber, called and informed me that he could arrive early. The issue was a clogged sink and he explained what he would need to do to fix it and also suggested preventive measures for the future. He was very thorough and diligent in the work that he performed. He really put my mind at ease and things are working beautifully now. I give Stephen 5 stars on his professionalism, knowledge, skill and demeanor. I would choose Root-Rooter again based on my experience today.

7 year old kitchen faucet broke and was spewing water at the handle. Shut off. tech came fairly soon on regular rate. I purchased the wrong replacement faucet so he decided to go out and buy one for me and did so on the same call. After several hours, new one installed perfectly. Bill was less than I expected for the time spent. Highly customer conscious experience with a professional.

Daniel was so patient and knowledgeable that he stuck out his job for five hours with us to make sure our sewer was clean of all roots. He was awesome and I would recommend him to anyone who has an issue like we did in the future. He is wonderful and will not rest until the job is to his satisfaction.

Disappointing!!! This office and dispatch really need to get it together. I was continuously transferred and hung up on. I was promised a plumber within an hour for emergency and they kept me hanging on until close of day. Still no one came and when I called again they told me oops everyone went home so sorry. If they did not have available plumber same day just be honest. Hard-working people left work and gave up valuable time and dollars to give access to units. And no one came. No compensation for our time and money lost. Really rotten and selfish thing to do to string us along like that. Either woefully inept or lacking of integrity. Either way seriously horrific. Ive used this company multiple times in multiple states. This office was the worst ever. They strung me along until too late to get another company out the same day, so 3 families without water for 2 days. The only positive is the pleasant plumber that finally came out the next day seemed to know his stuff and took care of business. Corroded kitchen sink drainpipe part discovered within wall covered with pvc was $700+ dollars. The phone customer service and dispatch made this an extremely stressful and unpleasant experience overall. Did not feel as a valued client. Will let you know if they even care to come through with remedy.

The service was great. On time and explained everything as we went. Put a camera in our sewer and explained what was being done now and what they would suggest for the future as well as ways to improve our situation in the meantime. I will be using Roto-Rooter for any future plumbing issues.

I needed to have a faucet replaced in the kitchen. I purchased the faucet and only required the labor to remove the old and install the new. I called in for pricing, but I was told that they would not provide pricing over the phone. Only a technician on site could give pricing. If I do not move forward with the work I would be responsible to pay a service charge. I set up an appointment for that evening. 1 hour before my appointment window when the technician was due to arrive, the dispatcher called and said that they did not have any techs available to make the appointment. The appointment was re-scheduled for the following morning.The technician arrived the next morning and came in to provide the pricing which was $705. it was explained that it was probably a 1-2 hour job, so the price was excessive in my opinion. The technician offered to show me the pricing sheet to prove that is the cost of a faucet replacement. I moved forward with the work and the technician was on site less than 50 minutes for the repair.I was unhappy with the initial missed appointment and the excessive cost. I reached out to their customer service manager to see if a resolution could be reached where I didnt have to leave a negative review. The Roto Rooter employee that called me was not interested in resolving my issue and she actually spoke negatively about their own company employees. In a nutshell she told me "We have raised prices every year for the last 4-5 years. Yes, that same repair would have been $200-300 a few years ago." I understand you have to raise prices, but double or triple in 4-5 years is excessive.I can see that the focus is no longer on the customer and that theyll continue to raise prices. I wont be using Roto Rooter moving forward.

Keenan was awesome. So helpful and kind. He stayed conscious about keeping the mess contained so clean up was a breeze. Ive dealt with roto rooter before but Keenan really made me feel like he cared about solving my issue instead of just another "get in. Get out" job. He took his time and explained what he was doing. Ill be requesting Keenan in the future for sure.

New home. Toilet clogs. We take a plunger to it, and sewage starts spewing up the shower drain. THE SMELL. Its 2 am and we dont know what to do or who to call. I phone up Roto-Rooter and they arrive bright and early at 8 am. Jacob takes the toilet apart, unclogs the giant wad of twine that the house contractors flushed down the toilet for (I guessa hilarious prank, and has everything cleaned up and working fine in no time. I couldnt be more grateful and relieved; we can safely poop again. Thank you, Jacob!

Justin was fantastic, showed up quickly and explained things thoroughly. He worked really hard at trying to clear our line, but wasnt able to get it done due to the nature of the blockage. He was able to tell us the next steps that need to be taken to get it fixed. Hopefully the Roto Rooter hydro jet guys will be as good as Justin was.

Patricio diagnosed the problem quickly. I spent the weekend digging up the septic line and his diagnosis was exactly correct. I was able to fix the break in the line and everything works great. Hes a valuable asset to your company and would recommend him highly.

After the strong rainfalls in Chicago where everyones basement flooded we had Roto-Rooter come out. While we appreciated the prompt and professional service of all employees that came to clean and check equipment, they messed up our AC piping so the water didnt go down the drain but rather created another big puddle in our basement. Ive contacted Roto-Rooters via email and left a voice message but never received a response. Then we received the invoice and contacted them again. No acknowledgement of them messing up. All they could do is sent a cleaning crew more than two weeks after. I dont need no cleaning crew now - we took care of this ourselves after no response from them. We didnt even get a partial credit on our invoice. I tried to talk to them and just a bunch of excuses why that is not possible. Imagine paying $569 for a cleaning that you just re-do yourself.So long story short - prompt and quick service but double check the work. Roto Rooter cares about money more than customer service.

Appreciated the same day service, technician was nice and knowledgeable, and it didn’t take long to complete the task-less than 45 min. BUT the price to open a clogged kitchen drain was stupidly high!. I asked the price before I booked them and they say the tech will tell you when inspecting the job. Even with a usual trip charge of $170, the cost was unnecessarily high. I know folks are trying to recoup losses, but not all at one from 1 customer!. I’ve used them in other cities, probably not here again. I’m done.9.22.22Update. So, customer service contacted me a couple days ago and today someone from Corporate called to explain that their prices are a set nationally. She told me the rate to clear a simple kitchen sink drain starts at $625 and can run up to $900!! Ridiculous! I asked why they don’t tell the caller that at outset-her reply is they quote when the tech comes out-depending on need, then one can reject the service while the tech is there. If she could tell me that in our conversation, they could tell a potential customer that when they 1st call to inquire about service. The upside is they come at no charge. Had I known at 1st call the range of prices, instead of waiting them to come, I would have been calling someone else So, beware-if you call them, have a backup plan with someone else just in case.

I had called several different companies, but either they were too busy or they didnt service my area. I finally called Roto Rotter. The phone call was quick, and I had an appointment for the next day! He arrived during the time given, explained the process and went to work! My toilet now works perfectly!

Fantastic experience with this company and its workers. Everyone was knowledgeable, hardworking, friendly, and professional. In an urgent situation, everything was completed in only a few days and we were grateful for the services provided. Would absolutely hire them again or recommend them to others.

Only 1 star because 0 was not an option. After having Roto Rooter come out to fox a backing up problem, I regret it. They removed my toilet and didnt put it back correctly now it leaks. They refuse to do business wit me because I wont pay them to fix what they messed up. Tech are liars and only want to make $ off me while doing crappie work. Not worth the headache and stress. Save your $ and call someone else. They came unprepared and kept wanting to charge me for every time they had to come out to fix what they messed up, which they never did. Am still dealing with the original issue. Garbage company, they dont clean up their mess either.

Oh boy...where to even begin? My roommate/tenant clogged the kitchen sink while I was away at conference without phone access. In the mean time they robbed us blind. The clog was a straightforward food clog. On day 1, a technician came in and destroyed my pipes. Horrendous leaking, completely beyond repair. Cost for this disaster: $500. My tenant then called again to have the damage repaired, at which point I joined by video call. The new technician explained that the last service had indeed been faulty, and that he had to replace all of the pipes: "you can probably get your money back." I have never had issues with these pipes, which were just two years old. He did this without first asking permission, and replaced an excellent set of steel pipes with the cheapest PVC job I have ever seen (see photo). Cost for cleaning up their own mess: another $500. No refund as of yet. I will be filing a complaint with the city and disputing any charges moving forward. Avoid these swindlers at absolutely any cost.

They are professional, organized, keep records and send people out in a flash. I dont know if they are the cheapest, but I dont care--because their reliability is top notch. Also their technicians (at least Spiroare very knowledgeable and will dispense as much advice as you request.

My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Matthew Rodriguez (line clearingand Ali Sheehaj (plumbing). Both men had worked fifteen hour days after unprecedented rainfall and flooding in Chicago, yet when they arrived at our home were so incredibly friendly and professional. There were no sales tactics or tricks. Just honest, open communication and fair pricing. Professionalism and cleanliness were top notch. Five Stars all the way!

The technician who installed my new water heater (Alicame out for a 24 emergency repair to my water heater. He was extremely helpful and thorough with explaining everything that was needed and installed the replacement. Overall very good quality and satisfied and would use Roto Rooter again.

We had two repairmen. Theu were both cordial. The first struggled with the issue, but they promptly brought someone who could fix it the next day. I was a big fan of that plumber. Michael was very knowledgeable, professional, and effective.

Justin and Paul were incredibly professional and friendly. I had a draining issue for a few weeks, and had quite a few other people come out to take a look in order to help resolve the issue, but they were either unable to help or they quoted me a seemingly ridiculous amount of money. Justin was able to diagnose the issue, and gave me a somewhat reasonable quote. After agreeing, he kept great communication in the actions they were taking. He did not quit till the issue was solved which took a big load off my shoulders. Thank you!

Justin was knowledgable, efficient, and very professional. In addition to performing the routing maintenance on our drains, he helped troubleshoot a few other issues we had been experiencing since we bought our house some years ago.

They don’t show up as scheduled. They overcharge,DAY 1: Told to expect someone between 8 and noon. Plumber showed at 2 unprepared to do the job and charging $69 for nothing: (pulling out my faucet hose so it no longer retracted breaking it even more). Then he told me he didn’t have the part — plumbers usually go get parts if they don’t have them but he was too late to do that.DAY 2: I scheduled a return with him initially quoting over $300 to change a simple pullout faucet hose. Supposed to show up between 8 and noon. Never came. I got a call at 4 pm that plumber coming TOMORROW between 8 and noon and I would be first.DAY 3: 8:30 I get a call that the plumber can’t come and would be here first thing TOMORROW.DAY 4: Nope. Never again.Totally unacceptable ‼️

I hired you in January due to water coming from the ceiling - well here I am in August with another $800 bill for the same thing. I should have been credited for the $350. Your guy didnt do the job. According to the guy the other day, in order to use the auger the toilet would have been on. Well it was removed by us prior to you being here so no toilet was on. I asked to ensure the line was clear and even said i would pay extra for the camera. Wasnt done and a less than a year later water was pouring from my ceiling again. I will not be using you again. I will find someone reliable who does the job correctly. I now have to repair my ceiling again. I also heard a noise with my toilet again so you will most likely have to do it right again since it is supposedly guaranteed.

The work they did was great, the plumber was great at troubleshooting. My only advice is dont ask for a late afternoon appt, too much seems to build up during the day. Our appt got pushed and pushed until it was rescheduled for the next day. Dispatchers are very friendly, but their process needs some work (a friend at Salesforce said he tried to get Rotorooter as a client for streamlining their processes, and the company didnt want it)

Day 1 the field Sup. Brian showed up timely and helped give us some peace of mind. First thing next morning Ali and Fidon came through the spot. They were to point, fast, and considerate. Two highly professional gentlemen. If you get these guys, your in good hands. Thats all. Thanks

The service was excellent. Arrived on time and the technician was polite, well dressed, and professional. The downside was the price. He charged me $625 for a simple kitchen sink drain clog removal. After I brought up whether there were coupons available, he reduced the price to $525. I had removed all of the under sink articles and p-trap from the garbage disposal before he arrived. All he had to do was bring in his machine and run the cable down the drain for about 15 minutes and reattach the p-trap. The rest of the time was spent explaining contract terms and running my credit card. I have no problem with the service or the results, just the price. I would think somewhere between $300 and $400 would be more in line with the work done.

Selling my home and needed a sump pump repair following an inspection. The owner had a tech out immediately to have the pump inspected. Cody, the tech, was very professional, friendly, and quick to find the problem. The repair was scheduled immediately, for a low price. I was not charged for the initial inspection either! I would 100% recommend this company! I will not be using any other company in the future other than Roter Rooter for my plumbing needs.

There was a funky smell coming from my washer/dryer closet (stacked washer/dryer). After confirming nothing was wrong with the machines, I called Roto Rooter. A guy came out. He was nice enough but immediately dismissed any plumbing issues, and instead sealed a toilet in the powder room next to the laundry closet. The smell persisted. I called again, and was given a 3-7pm window on a Tuesday. After jumping through hoops to leave work early and get home for that window, I got a call at 6pm saying no one was available. I had to reschedule for the next day. Not only was that inconvenient, but the person on the line was rude about it. I rescheduled for the 10-2 window today (Wed). At noon I received a call saying no one was available and they would be late. At that point, I just canceled. Massive waste of time, energy and money. They did not listen to me or take my issue seriously, didnt fix the right thing, and they never made it right.

Roto Rooter was the BEST!! They were quick to respond and quick to fix the plumbing problems! I would recommend this company hands down. I will use them again if need be.

First off customer service was friendly, but just really expensive especially for not solving the problem at the end of the day. Two guys came out who were really friendly and professional. They did come out on a Sunday morning so that was a plus, but problem was they didn’t diagnose the problem correctly and so, instead of paying $69 for the visit fee. I spent $425 have 2 large holes in my wall (thankfully not visible since it’s behind the laundry machine and fridge but will still need to be repaired.and the leak was caused by a fridge and not the actual pipes. Also a little annoyed because he specifically said in the beginning if the leak was coming from the fridge then it would be a constant leak, so he ruled it out early on when that ended up being the problem (fridge was only leaking when we pushed the lever for water, absorbing into the floor so no visible puddle when they pulled the fridge and started to pool in my sons room (opposite side of the fridge)). So not a plumbing issue, an appliance issue. They were nice, felt bad about offering the wrong diagnosis, but they did just miss the mark completely on what the problem was and I end up paying for it, they still made the money they were supposed to without resolving anything, and I’m in a worse off situation then when I first started because now I have to spend additional money on top of what I already overpaid them (69 v 425to fix their mistake, walls that didn’t need holes in them which isn’t really fair. Being able to correctly assess the situation, especially with 2 people is part of the job, and while being friendly is needed in todays world, many of us can’t afford to waste money on someone else’s mistake. Company should have financially taken some responsibility to remedy. If I had to do over, would have definitely skipped on using them.

Tyler cleaned the drain in the basement and the water is no longer backing up. He also repaired the toilet in the upstairs bathroom. In addition, he patiently provided me with information about diy maintenance going forward to keep the drain from clogging in the future and the toilet operative. Really impressed with not only his drain tech skills but also his customer service skills. Thank you, Tyler.

The technician was able to clear the kitchen sink drain using snakehead on the drain line to unblock the slow drain issue. They provided the estimate for $500+ after checking the issue. Luckily, the estimate from another plumber was $275 so, I was able to negotiate to the same price. This charge was for less than an hour of work and inspection combined. Be aware of over charging.

Great service. Unfortunately weve needed to be repeat customers. The original repair / clog removal price was $350 but we got just under half off for being repeat customers. Our tech gave us that option unprompted, and stayed until he was 100% sure the clog was gone, even snaking the toilet an extra time. Really appreciate that level to detail and offering to make it more affordable.

I gave them four stars instead of five because they told me they would be at my house in an hour so I had to leave where I was, drive a half hour but when I get home they said they couldn’t make it till the next day, very very frustrating. But they did give me a discount for that inconvenience. I did not mark good value because I thought for them being here a half an hour Minus the price for the part, that it was very very expensive.I did like Ali the technician, very much. I could understand him and he was very professional and he absolutely knew what he was doing.

I didnt end up using the company for a simple fix to an existing water line to attach it to a new fridge. The cost for the visit alone was $69. Any service from this company starts at $325 per the plumber who came by. I wish Id known this before. So it was $325 just to hook up the existing plastic water line and $625 if I wanted to replace the water line with copper or metal. The plumber also didnt wear a mask and questioned why I was wearing one in my own home. I had to inform him of a newborn that I didnt want to get sick. Not gonna call this company again.

We had a back up sump pump installed. The service was great as we stated in our previous review. Talking with the technician David, recommend replacing our ejector pump which was also 10 years old which could fail without warning.We agreed to have him replace it the next day. He did a great job installing a new sump pump, back up with battery and the ejector pump the next day.David was professional, punctual, courteous and efficient.We feel much better now that they have all been replaced and everything works just fine.

After a catastrophic overflow of our kitchen sink on a holiday weekend (just eight days after purchasing our home), the men promptly sent by Roto-Rooter could not have been more professional and helpful. From Fidan & Kelly who came within the hour and identified the issue, to Joe the picote specialist who came the next day and descaled our problematic pipe, to Doug and Jose with the flood mitigation team for safely drying and disinfecting the flooded areas, we could not have been more satisfied by the skill and professionalism of all those who assisted us. Highly recommend!

Professional and prompt service. Fidan completed the service call with quality and in time. He cleared the pipes of roots and got the water discharging again. He provided excellent recommendations and even brought Kelly Reed with his camera to verify the next steps. It saved thousands of dollars.

Leonard was wonderful. Friendly but got the job done quickly. He made sure the toilet clog was gone and gave good professional advice what to do to avoid this happening again. Ill ask for him next time. This wont be my one and only time using Roto-Rooter. Im impressed at how when, at the last minute last evening, the assigned plumber couldnt come because of an injury, the dispatcher made sure I was the first one served today. All this on a holiday.

I have water flooding my laundry room. We had to turn the AC off. I called and received an arrival window of 5:30 - 7:30pm. I call at 7:30 and they tell me they will not be coming tonight after all. What happened to being a 24 hour business? Apparently there is a major disparity between the customer service people who answer your call (mine was Cristinaand say "yes, absolutely we can help you" to the actual dispatcher (mine was Douglaswho says "Yeah, about that, we cannot come tonight at all and I can I only place a request for someone to come between 8-10am tomorrow, There is no guarantee." How is this okay in todays world? Oh, and I was offered a 10% discount for tomorrows visit but little good that will do me when my woodwork is soaking wet after sitting in a puddle all night.

We received excellent service from Roto Rooter! They were able to diagnose the problem and clearly explain to me the work that needed to be performed. They were flexible working with older plumbing pieces in our house to make sure everything is now running smoothly.

At first I was very happy with their service - easy to get a hold off - had someone available to come out with 2 days notice. Guy comes out (on time... he assesses that I need a new fill valve and flapper. (a quick google search, shows that this is $22 worth of parts at Home Depot... he however quotes me $535 to do the work ..... their hourly labor rate is $395???? ... a complete RIPOFF!!! I of course told him no thank you, made a quick neighborhood post on Facebook, and found someone who can do it for $100 per hour, and use the parts that I bought at Home Depot for $22... I wish I would have done some more research on this company before hand - but hope that this review helps others in the same situation! Stay away from this ripoff of clients ...

My plumber was Arbr and he was a very nice,calm, and insightful worker.Very knowledgeable and walked me through the process and cleaning/repair. Advised useful tips to help prevent and maintain a working pipe system. We only have one bathroom and this was much appreciated to have a working drain system. Would definitely recommend using this service again but hopefully it would be just a routine cleaning and not a repair.

We had a plumbing emergency in our laundry room on a holiday. We called other 24hr emergency plumbing services that came up on Google but none returned our call. Roto-Rooter picked up and had someone here 30 min later! Problem was fixed within the hour and we were able to enjoy our Memorial Day weekend.Everyone was so nice and professional. Highly recommend them.

I had a great experience with my drain service. Ali was extremely knowledgeable and took time to explain the diagnosis and solution processes. He even checked a number of other drains and gave some pointers on how to prevent leaks and future blockages. Ali arrived the same morning I requested service, was very honest and upfront about costs, and explained everything in detail. Had our ejector pump swapped and our sewage tank cleaned out in less than an hour.Friendly and efficient service.After getting the cheapest quality and service from “Affordable Plumbing Solutions” only 7 months ago, I think I’ll be sticking with Roto-Rooter from here on out. Don’t go cheap when it comes to your plumbing!
