This is a very clean, newer motel. Prices arent unreasonable. They provided plenty of towels and the bathroom was excellent. The beds have good quality pillows, sheets, and pillowcases. You have lots of channels to choose from on the tv. It didnt have that "nasty old motel" vibe. The staff are polite and friendly, and the outside of the motel was also kept clean. For those who are wondering, they are also pet friendly.(F.Y.I. For the folks who have seen a few too many horror movies, it may seem as if youre heading into the boondocks when searching for this establishment. Dont worry, though. It is nestled right in with some other businesses in the small town of Sac City.)
Clean rooms at a good price
A great little motel. Clean rooms, friendly and very accommodating. We had a long day of traveling and needed a place to rest our heads, and we lucked out with this little gem.
The room was very clean and comfortable. No wifi. When we had trouble with the TV, the staff was very helpful. Its a bit off the highway, but worth the drive.
Excellent. Clean and tidy. Everything I need for extended stay. Customer service is great. Staff are friendly. Glad I am here
I absolutely love the ambience of this hotel! I feel right at home. Check in was fast and welcoming. Room is cozy and clean. Restaurant right next to it. I would recommend this to anyone needing a great nights rest! Every time I am handed an actual key I know its going to be good! You can tell they take pride in what they do!
We stayed two nights and couldnt have been happier. The owners take pride in their property and were very courteous and service oriented. We have stayed here many time over the last two decades and will continue to choose Sac City Motel when in town. Thank you!
Great place to stay, very nice staff!!!
The Owners are Top Notch Good People. They really take pride in this place. Also treat people very nice. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. They have vending, and guest laundry on the premises. So I travel a lot and always looking for a clean place with a good bed. I also need a refrigerator, microwave, a desk, and some television. This place checked all the boxes to a "T". I read the reviews before I stopped to check in and the only feedback I saw was that the bathroom was small. The bathroom is fine, plenty of space to do everything you need. Spent the whole week here supporting a local business owner that shows that she cares about her property and customers. There is a diner across the road and a local grocery store where you can shop for what you need. My favorite thing here is that your head melts into the pillows, the sheets are not your standard hotel sheets, and the quilt is just like the one I have at home. Oh and the price was out of this world! Will stay here every time I am in the area on business. A+++++
Just a great quaint roadside lodge that reminds you of old Americana but with plenty of modern comfort, theres even a rocking chair with a nice quilt in each room owned by good down to earth people. Whether a short stay or an extended one you get treated with respect and privacy, clean rooms and the best service you can expect done by the owners themselves so they want the best. You have some of the best fishing around all within a short distance in either direction, a liquor store in the same parking lot out back and some of the best burgers, fried walleye on Friday and huge omelettes right across the street. We really loved it.
Showed up at 1 in the morning and the women up front was polite and helpful. The room was clean and the AC was nice. Plenty of room for our pug as well. The bed was nice and the room had everything youd need to stay there. (Fridge, coffee pot, hair dryer, etc. Most importantly the area was very quiet. 10/10 would stay there again.
Great motel to spend the night on your way through traveling.
Super cute little motel, perfect for a night or two away. Queen sized bed, pillows and blankets were comfortable, none of that weird foam middle blanket and scratchy comforter you get at most hotels. Bathroom is small but not cramped. A/C was a workhorse, had to get up in the middle of the night to turn it down. Quiet surroundings and great cafe just across the road. 10/10 would stay here again.
I only planned to stay for one night....ended up staying several days. Rooms are very nice beds are great and the staff is very polite. My only complaint would be the tiny bathroom we had lol. All and all a great place to stay.
Very clean room. Comfortable bed and the owner was very nice.Theres a small, but good restaurant on the other side of road.If you are in town I highly recommend staying here.
Stayed here only one night because of a blizzard. Nice rooms loved the bathroom completely retro but well cared for. Owners did a great job getting the parking lot and sidewalk cleared of snow. Only complaint would be that the heat was set around 50Β° in the room and the only heat register in the room is at the top of the wall. (Heat risesThere was a ceiling fan so I set that on low and reversed the direction so it did help warm up the room a little but still had to bring a space heater in. Overall though 100% grateful that we were able to get off the interstate safely for the night.
Rooms were very well kept, beds were comfy, seemed like a nice area. Walls were a little thin but nothing major. Pet friendly!
We have stayed here several times in the past, it is very clean and cozy. The owners are very nice.
Great people, clean rooms, nice quiet area.
Very friendly owner and clean beyond belief lots of clean bedding plus extra pillows real comforters we had a rocking chair in the rood good cable TV Wi-Fi coffee in office extremely clean roomβs reasonable price would stay again if in the area.
I was traveling the area and got too sleepy to make it all the way home, so I pulled in here shortly after midnight, got checked in, and was in a comfortable room in no time. It cost me $54 even for a single occupancy room. Standard Full or Queen sized bed. (I wasnt sure, I just laid down and made the nest of it.The room had a fridge, TV, rocking chair, AC/heat, and there were some basic toiletries in the bathroom. While checking in, I was told about a really nice cafe across the street that had great breakfast, and the vending near the office. (Full disclosure, I ended up going to Caseys in town for breakfast pizza so I could check out the Worlds Largest Popcorn Ball attraction.)If you are in the area, this place is definitely worth supporting and laying your head down for the night.
Love this place! We use it for hunting when we travel up north and they are very accommodating. Clean rooms, comfy beds. What more do you need?
Pulled in at 1 AM and they were happy to help. We had a beautiful very clean room and I really loved the "homey" touches! Microwave and Fridge in the room was a huge plus after being on the road all day. Beds are very comfy and clean! Extra pillows and blankets in the room also. Thanks for a great stay β‘
Perfect place to stay. Clean rooms and friendly service.
Although I miss the old owner, the new ones are very nice. They put out donuts and juice in the morning for us. We stay here every year for our family reunion. Always clean and well kept. They let us use their bbq pits and tables for our family to visit the night before the reunion. Plus, its right by the Sac Liquor Store!
Have stayed here several times. Older but kept up and clean. Reasonable rate. I will be back.
My family stays here every year for 10 plus years. Staff is great. Not sure what hotel Trip advisor is referring to but, I have never had to make my own bed, had dingy towels and all those other un true things. It is a small town with a small town atmosphere. It is not the Hilton. You get what you paid for. Good hometown hospitality !!!!! Thank you for putting up with our huge family every year. And for many years to come. As far as Trip Advisor that is was and will always be a joke. Sorry you had to put up with that kind of customer and review. We who have stayed for years no better. PS we are in the big 3 bed room one. I want my stove and fridge back pleaseeeeeee at least while we are there.....XXXOOOO see you in a few months
Had someone jimmy my door open while I was showering, thankfully the chain was hooked up. Told the staff immediately about it. She said, "So youre saying theres a problem with my locks?" To which I replied, "yes." She informed me i should just stay somewhere else.
Awesome place to stay!! Clean, comfy, and cozy!! Great accommodations for a reasonable price!
Very clean rooms, comfortable sleeping. Bring your coffee from Caseys in and microwave in the morning. Rooms have refrigerator and microwave...and of course wifi.
Comfy and cozy! Nice people, clean rooms, good price!!
Its ok. Lady at front counter didnt seem overly friendly. Room was small but you get what you paid for.
My family stays at the Sac City motel every year for our family reunion. The place has always been nice and welcoming to the family as long as weve been there!
Stayed here on business for two nights. Everything went smoothly and the staff were very friendly - even the other guests were extremely nice. It almost felt like a community out in the parking area. The rooms were quaint and comfortable, very clean indeed. Its right across the street from Hutchs Cafe too, which is a bonus because they have an excellent breakfast thats very easy on the wallet. Would definitely stay again if in town.
Very clean and hospitable. Had a great stay.
Wonderful place. Inexpensive clean and comfortable. Highly recommended
Very clean and well run, reasonable rates. Great place to stay while passing through on business. I will definitely stay here again!
Very nice comfortable clean room ! Loved the ambience...will be staying here often on my business travel in western Ia.
Comfortable and owner works hard to accommodate guests needs. Price is great too.
I stayed here 1 night. Very clean, very comfortable, and very reasonably priced.
Ive stayed at this Motel since the 1990s when it was refurbished. Its an original Motel from around the 1940s. The single rooms are smaller with the original tiled floor and wall showers. Decorated nicely, clean, and comfortable. They have 3 newer rooms which have two beds and are more conventional. The TV stations are odd as some channels require hypens. I recently stayed here in January, 2017 for 3 nights and chose the 2 bed option for a change. I had broken my phone so desperately needed Wi-Fi for my laptop. It kept dropping the connection. So I had to check out. But I noticed they had the local city internet truck there for 3 days!! It just recently has new owners who moved here from Utah to fulfill a dream of theirs. They are going to be doing some updates and would highly recommend. Across the street is an awesome smaller cafe and a liquor store for ice. Its the best value around that area!
My family and I have stayed here a few time and every time the experience has been amazing.
The rooms are cozy and very clean and its a good location with a great restraunt across the street
Wonderfully clean and well looked after. Under new ownership. Their largest room includes a kitchen with a table, towles, soap, and dishes all provided. The standard rooms all include soaps, shampoo/conditioner, and of course WiFi. Very friendly and personable owners who care about what they do and have put a lot of time and money into providing the best possible experience. If you ever have a concern they take care of it in record timing.
Very clean and nice rooms. Fantastic customer service and quite cheap.
Quaint small-town motel, small room (single bed), but good value, clean and homey.
Great place. Family owned. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Almost like a B&B. Cute little town too. If traveling through Iowa on Hwy 20, this would be a great place to spend a night or two and see the town.
Reasonable price, clean room, friendly people. I would easily recommend for people passing through.
People and places like this is why we try to stay in privately owned motels. Room was clean and comfortable. Owner was very friendly and helpful! Nice pet friendly motel.
