Sanctuary hotel & restro bar in Bīkāner

The Sanctuary House Hotel is a typical older European hotel. Small but quaint, adequate for a good nights stay. Its location is near perfect for wandering around London. Close to Buckingham and Kensington Palaces, Hyde Park, museums and Piccadilly Circus. The first floor is the Ale & Pie pub with wonderful meat pies. Guests get a great breakfast free with a stay. The check in is on the first floor (2nd USA), and there is a lift. The rooms of course, are small as this is not a resort. And if youre staying in your room for more than sleeping and clean up, youre missing a great city.

I really liked this hotel. I stayed hear about five years ago and should have stayed here on my last trip. A very reasonable price with nice rooms. An absolutely great location with a good breakfast.

We just visited the pub and it was brilliant,with wonderful food.

Locations was excellent!! As a tourist we have many attractions at walking distance and close to train stations.Breakfast was good. Room comfortable. There was a front desk girl extremely helpful.

Beautiful old building with lots of history. This building is one of the oldest on one of the oldest streets in Westminster.Come out the door look right and you can see Westminster Abbey. Look left and you can see St James’s Park tube station.It has so much character.We had an amazing stay. Great location. Lovely clean hotel. Staff friendly and helpful.We will be going back.

Very nice place in the heart of London, very close to everything that any tourist would want and also very close to the tube station.

Pleasant and clean place to be. Ate plant based fry up which was £14, which seemed over priced to me. It was better than Weatherspoon but not 3 times better to reflect the price. Id walk a little further next time.

Just spent 5 nights at the Sanctuary House Hotel. A few things to note:- the staff were friendly, helpful and daily housekeeping was really nice- Air conditioning in the room helped ensure a comfortable stay- we appreciated the complimentary (1beer and waters supplied in our room.- the coffee in the room was better than the drip coffee at the breakfast area in the pub.- the proximity to transit and various London tourist spots was idealAreas for improvement:- we found that the room didn’t provide enough storage for luggage. There were a few small drawers but not enough to unpack our things and use.- there were no hooks anywhere to hang anything. No hooks in the bathroom to hang towels (just the warming rack which is small and awkward).- the pillows were super thin and could use an upgrade- there were certainly rusted spots in the bathroom and the caulking was atrocious. They need a better contractor.Overall, we were happy with our stay and would recommend this place to others.

The rooms are lovely and very clean but there was some noise from the fans running down stairs that woke us up early

Dropped in for a late lunch after the Queens procession to Westminster Hall. They have a separate area for dining. The burger and chips was nice and I enjoyed the chocolate brownie with salted caramel ice cream. The portion on the mains was quite small and its quite pricey. The lavatories were clean and stocked up with tissues, hand wash and hand cream.. I like the Manager as she was polite, attentive and hands on. They deserve 5 stars.

In middle of downtown London, cant get any closer! Nice room and great food downstairs. If I come back to England, I will definitely stay here again.

Very nice hitel, in walkind distance from the London Eye, Parks, abd many other attractions. The room was nice and the service was great.

Hotel over a bistro. The breakfast was included and this gave us access to the full breakfast menu! The full English breakfast was very good especially the perfect bacon and the sausage by I didn’t fancy the blood sausage. Bacon was Canadian style but a bit thicker. Bed were confortable and the pillow also. The room was full equipped and had 2 water and one beer in the fridge. The Nespresso machine came with 6 capsules and there was also some tea and some “filter” coffee. All was included.A generous place, friendly and clean. Perfectly situated.

London was a stop on our honeymoon and we LOVED our stay at this hotel. The room was lovely and the complimentary drinks were such a nice touch! The location was perfect for tourism but also transportation. The staff was very friendly and the pub that is attached served great food and the breakfast was so good! We would definitely stay here again when we come back to London!

The service alone made this a one star. HORRIBLE, loud and angry ladies gave us a horrible time. Every question was met with an angry sassy response. We didnt feel like guests, we felt like an annoyance.

I never leave negative reviews but our experience with the Sanctuary House Hotel was so bad Im taking the time to warn other travelers. We had booked a night at this hotel but like many others have recently experienced, our flights to London were repeatedly cancelled. We contacted the hotel as soon as this happened but they refused to move our reservation to another night or provide any type of refund.They will not provide any accommodations or exceptions and honestly wont give you the time of day. You can expect to be charged the full amount for the room that you werent able to use.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The bed was very comfortable, service excellent, and the breakfast delicious! I loved the shower!

The location was probably definitely the best thing about this place it was 10 minutes walking to Big Ben and the London eye and 15 minutes to Buckingham Palace. We ended up staying on the 5th floor so it was a way from traffic a bit but there were some fans on the roof that we could kind of hear we stayed in room 504 and during the day when the fans would turn on would have a loud buffeting sound loud enough to give you a headache overall the room was clean and small and they were two USB outlets to charge our phones with. Just because of the location I would probably say again just maybe not on the 5th floor. The gal at the front desk was super professional and super nice would definitely recommend if you need a decent place thats close to everything and not super expensive.

Always has been one of my favourite Fullers pub. Good selection of ales and if you are a meat pit connoisseur then this is the place to dine too!

The hotel operator never attends the call. The breakfast is basic. One coffee machine is not enough when the breakfast area is full. They do not have mustard neither flavored yoghurt and the excuse is they waiting for shipment. How is this possible for a hotel in the heart of London. Worst thing is if you address it to the staff they ignore and even dont try to make any efforts to improve. Lousy service attitude and definitely not a hotel to recommend for this price

Fish and chips classic choice, it was good. Location really good. Prices like in centre of London. Beer IPA was perfect.

Lovely place! If you sign up for their wifi u can order food and drinks on your phone and they deliver to your table. It was packed when we arrived but the staff were working hard to keep up. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxing too. We will for sure come back and may be even stay at the hotel.

Small comfortable hotel in a extremely convenient location, few steps from Westminster Abbey and close to the underground station. Rooms are nice with comfortable bed. Excellent value for money.

Location, staff and room cleanliness and atmosphere were all great. Biggest downside for me was that the room was not very good at filtering out noise, and I got woken up at least twice by other loud guests.

Went here for lunch. Very friendly as we walked in. Came for our order and I ordered fish and chips, unfortunately they were out of that and pretty much all of their fish dishes. Got the buttermilk chicken and waffles instead. The waffles were amazing! The bacon jam a bit on the sweet side, and the chicken was best with the waffle. Good meal. Another person in our party got a chicken pie and still cannot stop talking about how great it was.Overall good that we got was good, service was friendly, disappointed that they were out of fish and chips.

One of the best hotels of ever stayed in! Huge room for Central London, lots of tea and coffee provided in the room- as well as real milk! The staff were so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was just fantastic! The only downside was that there was a bit of noise from the street with early bin collections, but the heavy curtains kept the worst of that out and, to be honest, Im not sure you can avoid noise in London entirely. Would absolutely stay here next time Im in London!

Been here a few times since the Sanctuary opened. I like it, they serve Fullers ales and have a good, but not large menu. The ales are usually good, but had wine on this occasion as I was meeting someone for lunch and we shared a nice bottle of Pinot Noir. The barman was friendly and helpful and with large, clear windows it feels light and airy, although the corner we sat in felt a little darker, but cosy. I like the place and would have no hesitation in going back there.

For location, friendliness of the staff, and charm of the hotel this gets five stars. Its so close to Westminster and a metro stop, and a lovely 8 to 10 min walk to Buckingham palace. The pub downstairs really is so convenient and lovely, highly recommended in itself. The included breakfasts are good, lots of choice. There was a little construction outside the hotel during our stay but thats not the hotels fault. Rooms are clean, charming, and stocked with tea, coffee, and water every day. We loved it, and would definitely recommend staying here.

Pleasant room, nothing overly special but definitely clean. Room was surprisingly quiet considering there is a bar at ground level.Lovely freshly prepared English breakfast, happy to recommend.

Close to everything in Westminster. This is a nice boutique hotel, with nicely appointed rooms. The restaurant/bar downstairs was super convenient, with traditional English dishes very well made. Try the pies for dinner!

Lovely hotel, staff excellent. Room was very spacious & super comfy, complimentary drinks in the mini fridge. Location excellent.... Within walking distance for a lot of tourist attractions & 2 minutes to nearest tube station. Would definitely book this hotel again.

We loved our stay. Rooms were quaint but still spacious, breakfast was amazing, staff was friendly and accommodating. Very close to many attractions and sites and comes with a great pub. We would definitely recommend staying here on your visit to London.

What a fantastic pub, just up the road from Westminster. The food was surprisingly good, really excellent. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was perfect for a nice social evening

This was a neat little place right down the block from Westminster Abbey. The rooms were comfortable and the staff was incredibly helpful when I had to make an outgoing phone call from a land line. There is also a cozy little pub underneath the hotel. I would stay here again (and hopefully will soon), especially at the reasonable cost.

Family lunch pre-booked for 12 people. They brought all starters and main courses together. Told us off for protesting, took some back to the kitchen and represented them later, cold!Words fail me to describe the shambolic service and the dismal food. And while the boy might have been nice and polite he was not very interested and although the girl seemed capable of taking an order she was very rude So, Im afraid I have nothing good to say about our experience .

Good beer although pricey but hey thats central London! What stands out is the quality and the friendly great humoured service. Such a breath of fresh air.

Currently staying here. Whilst the pub itself is lovely, the room is awful. Extractor fan is on all night with no respite, the windows wont close fully as they are rotten so there is constant Street noise, the kitchen fan is loud but does turn off at night, the bathroom is small and full of mould, the bath is chipped and the sink in a worse state. Toilet is heavily stained. One tiny towel rail so cant dry towels. Was told to just order new ones, which goes against the sign in the bathroom asking us to be environmentally aware. And who doesnt love a tepid shower as theres no hot water! Limited toiletries and distinct shortage of sockets in the bedroom. None by the side tables. No where near enough hangars. Very limited lighting in bedroom so everything is dark all the time. Had to clean remote control due to sticky film on it. And the rest of the room has later of dust. Asked to change rooms but none available. Breakfast was ok, but nothing special.Updated 20/10 Fullers have been in touch and day they are going to upgrade the hotel rooms as per the standards expected and declared.

My husband and I have been here twice on our trip to London.Our first time was in the evening, had a side salad and chips with alcoholic beverages and our second time was for breakfast.We found the evening experience much better then the morning as our breakfasts were neatly presented but luke warm cooked breakfasts which was disappointing. We also had to remind staff for the toast we ordered too.Some staff didnt seem interested in working either.The atmosphere, style and ambience of the pub is lovely and would recommend drinks and snack food.

Cozy rooms and lovely atmosphere. Decent toiletries inside the bathrooms and charming hallway and reception.Very quiet regardless of being above a pub in central London! Very nice interiors and decent value for money.

For £400 for 3 nights and high reviews I really expected much more. Despite the service being lovely everything else was sub par. Firstly, the corridors stink of stale beer (didn’t realize it was part of a pub). The rooms itself are very dated, including stains on the carpets, horrific single glazed windows that let in all sorts of sounds, really dated bathroom facilities - including a toilet that hardly flushes, with a suspicious wooden box behind it and a shower hose that is tied to the wall meaning that you can hardly get water out of it. Although the room is clean and housekeeping was very good, sitting on the floor to do my make up felt quite dirty. You can also hear the person above you quite clearly, so at 1am I needed ear plugs. The breakfasts were horrific. There were in the pub below and I guess what one would expect of a ‘pub breakfast’ - cheap cartoned sugar-high juices and not tasty breakfasts at all. Our first morning we had the most unfriendly waitress who said that she ‘could’ get us lattes if it was necessary … other than that service was good but breakfast in a pub that smells of stale alcohol and sticky tables is not my ideal way to start the day. Moreover, to leave your luggage in the hotel you put it in a locked room but there is nothing and nobody to stop you from taking anybody else’s stuff as there is no ticketing mechanism … when I mentioned this to the lady she said it should be fine because it has never happened before. That’s hardly a rationale response to my worry. Moreover, when we put our stuff in there there was nobody supervising us to stop us taking somebody else’s stuff. That said, the bed was comfortable but the overall experience has persuaded me that whenever I book a hotel in London it will always be with a chain. I can’t believe I spent £400 on a room whose windows barely close.

The staff were lovely and really helpful. The location is great and the pub below the hotel is lovely. The room was a bit dated and the floors were very creaky but the Breakfast/Service was 10/10.

Nice hotel, location is convenient, easy to get into town- st james Station is less than a minute walk away. Customer was great. We were served by Valentina in reservation who kindly upgraded our room and fabio who was very welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was okay - Gluten free option would have been nice. There was a nice pub downstairs but we were out for the duration of our stay. I would definitely recommend.

Stayed as a guest in a hotel, having dinner in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Food was really nice and the restaurant and hotel teams were both very friendly & helpful.The room is spacious & everything is well organised. Complimentary coffee and water in the room & you can also enjoy your breakfast in the room for a small extra charge.

This place was ideally located for us in the Westminster area, easy walking distance to St. James Park, Westminster Abby, Big Ben, and the London Eye. We stayed here with our 11 year old daughter and had more than enough room for the three of us. Accommodations were comfortable, clean, and safe. Breakfast was included with our stay, which was great. However, I did not develop a full appreciation for Black Pudding during our stay. Building was older and gave you a sense of staying in old London in a modern neighbourhood. The restaurant/ pub served a nice variety of delicious meat pies and the service was very friendly and quick. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend our friends and family to do the same. We certainly felt we got our moneys worth here.

This Hotel is fabulous. Our room was amazing & a free fridge with Beer, Milk & water supplied. The Location was just brilliant along with the Fullers pub downstairs. Staff in both were so friendly we cant recommend this enough. When in Westminster stay here. Thank You for a lovely stay & we will be back. Mrs & Mrs London ! 🙂
