Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital in Sonoma County

Thank you to the lovely staff at Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital for their continued care of my two cats and one rabbit. This used to be my local vets but even though I have since moved to Sonoma, I still drive the forty minutes so I can keep my pets enjoying the quality care provided at this location. You need to have the confidence and peace of mind that your animals will be well looked after, and that is something I’ve always felt here.

Great bedside manor. Great experience. Highly recommend.

Once again Buddy and I had a good experience with Dr. Jan. Buddy enjoys going to the vet and getting so much attention. Its just another adventure to him. Dr. Jan first diagnosed my cat with diabetes a few years ago. He is difficult to treat because he was originally feral. With her help we created good ways of tracking his blood chemistry to make sure he is treated well with the right dose of insulin and good diet. Dr. Jan communicates clearly in a timely way, so we have felt like we have a good partner in caring for our little fur baby. I am newer to the Santa Rosa Vet Hospital, and so far the staff there have been amazing, responsive to my cats needs and my questions or concerns. I really want to recommend Dr. Jan and the SR Vet Hospital.

Everyone weve seen there is very knowledgeable, answered all our questions fully and without judgement, and seem to truly care about our animals well-being!

We had to put down our sweet kitty after an unexpected ailment. Definitely one of the toughest experiences in my opinion. The staff was loving, supportive, and compassionate. Thank you for making everything as painful as possible for our boy.

Since the sale from the previous vets, this vet is much different.... attempting to pad diagnosis, bait and switch billing, unnecessary and costly testing, along with inappropriate euthenasa suggestion.When you question whats going on, this vet fires customers. Previously I met 2 customers leaving the practice, who complained about their dogs being manhandled. Im more than happy to find a new vet.I dont recommend this Veterinary hospital who actually cares about my dog,

While we were sad to see Dr. Chrone move away, Drs. Jan and Foster have been amazing and the whole staff has always been lovely, so we are more than happy to keep our kitties there.

Very disorganized. Told me they had never given my dog this Rx before and they had been refilling it for a couple years. Refused to give me a few more refills when my Rxs ran out after I moved across country until I could find a new vet.

Doctors and staff are very caring. It’s obvious they love what they do.

I made an appointment, paid the $75 and got a confirmation that my pet was set for the appointment. The day of the appointment comes, I go to the hospital only to be told my pet didn’t have an appointment with them. Okay?? I got the confirmation that it was set and was given the reminder that I HAD the appointment. So why is there no appointment for my pet? I have proof stating that indeed she was set for the appointment. Total inconvenience to me. If she’s not going to be on the system I advice to check up every and I mean EVERY appointment set online that has been PAID and give them a call letting them know that either Athere’s no appointment or B)Good for the appointment. Instead of just 1 email and expecting the person to be able to see it and then assuming, “oh no email response, cancel, next!” No, give them a call. Hope I get my refund back, $75 is $75.

Ive had the best experience. The staff is friendly and attentive. The Facility is clean and organized.

Very honest, reasonably priced, and they dont pressure/guilt pet owners into paying for unnecessary services. I have brought my bunny and dogs here and would highly recommend.

We love Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital! Weve always been treated kindly and professionally, and they clearly love my dogs. Treatment options are thoroughly explained. Not the least expensive vet in town, but then again, you get what you pay for!

Wouldnt trust my fur babies to anyone else. Dr. Krome and the crew there are awesome and treat your babies as if they were there own. Sure am going to miss Doc Krome when he finally retires. Thats going to be a sad day...😢

Doc Krome and crew r the best. Knowledgeable easy to get along with staff. Animals seem ok with them. My bird in particular interacts well will staff and doc Krome. I brought my bird to their office after going to another doc in rohnert Park that was very disagreeable with my bird. Id find bruising on her from old doc. Doc Krome is gentle and caring. My bird has no problem with him. Great ppl wonderful veterinary hospital!

Im writing this the night after we had to put our beloved senior cat down. This hospital has been nothing short of amazing to us. Their prices are much more affordable than others and they were unbelievably compassionate every time weve seen them. When we visited to checkup on bloodwork etc (he was very old and we had a number of visits before todaythey would talk with us and share about how good he was, and all the things we both thought were funny about him. We walked away for the last time having cried WITH the vet, and it didnt feel so alone, or full of regret. Thank you for everything.

I love this place. They really helped me figure out what was wrong with my baby girl! Very nice people and they dont try to push products or procedures on you.

They were the only vet that squeezed our rabbit in for an emergency appointment, everywhere else didn’t even try . This place made time for our rabbit and was very professional and caring to our needs. We weren’t prepared emotionally for the outcome that my sister had to make at the moment , but it was best for the rabbit and her current condition at the time . Ill be honest, my pets are my "kids". I have young human children too, but to me my dogs are on the same level. I say that because I am as particular about my vets as I am about my pediatricians... Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital is second to none. They are honest, communicative, and above all, they treat my furbaby like their own. The gals who answer the phones are the best--they take the time to listen and really seem to care, no matter why Im calling. We have a pretty intense-looking husky that has scared other veterinarians, but at SRVH they are used to all breeds and sizes and they treat all animals with respect. I highly recommend this veterinary hospital.

I got mixed up with our first appointment. We drove to the office from Guerneville, called the office to check-in and had no appt, uggg. However, they staff were amazing and Jean went above and beyond to get our new birds in anyway. We are SO grateful to all the staff for their care of us and our new babies Buddy, Marcus, and Amelia. Since they are one of the few places around still open, I was expecting to pay a lot. However, the veterinary hospital only charged a few hundred (100-400, I forgetfor getting my little boy up to date on all his vaccines, tested him for FIV and feline leukemia virus (negative on both!), and most of that cost was for the doctors time. When I went back to get a booster shot for him, they only charged the cost of the vaccine!Very affordable, fair price. Very kind and professional staff. Would highly recommend!

The staff at SR Veterinary are always so kind and friendly. I needed some pet medications during the shelter-in-place order. They had a little extra instruction so as to not have a crowded waiting room. When I arrived, I called from my car, and they had me come right in. They still had smiles on their faces.

I had to take my moms dog to get his nails cut and I called to see how much it was and told the lady on the phone we would be in shortly and she said ok.HOWEVER- When my fiance and I got there she said we needed to have an appointment and when I said I had called ahead of time and the lady never said anything about an appointment. She denied ever speaking to me on the phone! Even though she confirmed the name of my moms account and the name of the dog!Living in windsor and going back and forth wasnt fun but it had to get done. So if you are planning on going here please make sure you make an appointment. Other than that the nail trimming went fast and we were in and out.

I am very pleased with this veterinary hospital. The staff is friendly, the facility is clean, and they are open 6 days a week. I have taken my conure Panik in twice now, for a general checkup and for a wing clipping. Dr. Krome is very knowledgeable about parrots and is very gentle and loving. I just cant say enough good things about him, Im so happy that he is here in Santa Rosa.

Love this vet! All the doctors are great and when you have an appt they spend a lot of time with you and your pet, listening to your concerns. They will also respond via email which is SO HELPFUL for anyone dealing with a sick pet! Great place!

Never did I ever think Id find myself at the Vet with a hamster. After calling around all morning (its very hard to find a small animal vet hereI finally found Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital. They were EXCEPTIONAL in every way. Super friendly, easy to schedule, everyone was very helpful and informative. We left with a happy healthy hamster and Id definitely recommend them to anyone ♡

Had an emergency with my bunny and called 5 vet offices to see if they could see him - SR Vet got him in within two hours. Happy coincidence that thered been a cancellation that opened up a slot, but Im so grateful that they got us in and took good care of Bun Bun. Hes back to his old happy self now!

Dr. Krome is always so careful and patient with my canary, Mr. W. Buffet. I peppered him with questions and he was so helpful ...spent a lot of time on us (bird and me LOL). Ill keep going to SR Vet Hosp. My bird is doing better each day...hes on antibiotics for a respiratory illness. Front desk gals are superb! ...and I wish I had their office mascot cat in MY desks Inbox LOL

I took our pet rat who had an abscess on his face to be seen here. They took very good care of him and hes back to his old self. Not many vets that see pocket pets. I recommend them for sure.

Very gentle vet. Both she and her assistant were very knowledgeable and let me know all the things my cat may need. Flea treatment yes $1500 preventable dentistry not yet but good to know what to keep an eye on. I would recommend and I will return..

Dr. Krome lifted my burden of worries over my elder bird Peachtrees mobility problems. I was happy to see he is a kind and caring vet and felt relieved that my bird was safe in his diagnosis. Although my bird loudly proclaimed his protests, I feel sure that deep in his heart he felt safe, too. Great vet and great staff. My faith in Veterinarians has been renewed.

I cant express enough how wonderful SR Vet is! We had to put our dog of 13 years down and they could not have been any more compassionate and kind. We brought our new pup in for her first shots and I am so happy that she will be in the best care with Dr Krome, Jean, Megan and the whole fantastic staff!

This is the best Vet Hospital I have ever been too. My pug and I ahed lived in five different states and have backpacked in even pretty much all of the others. This Vet Hospital and especially Dr. Krome are the best pet lovers, caretakers and veterinarians I have ever known.

I cant say enough about Dr. Krome and his staff. We have been going to Dr. Krome for the past two years with a very challenging dog who is afraid of everyone and everything. He was so patient with her and helped us learn so much more about what she needed. Unfortunately, we had to put our Lucy dog down last week, and he couldnt have been more helpful, understanding and caring. We were so lucky and appreciative of him coming to are home to take care of our girl. I would give him and his team 10 starts if I could. The greatest vet ever!

I dont usually write reviews it was Google reviews that helped me figure out where to go next after waiting for an hour at my previous vets office only to be told it wad going to be at least another half hour before I could be seen due to an emergency. This was the second time this had happened to me there and while I appreciate the fact there was an emergency, I shouldve been told on the outset.So I picked Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital due to its Goolge reviews. They were able to get my cat in that day, and explained from the beginning it would be a wait (they too had an emergencyin part because they were double booking to get us in. The wait wasnt more than a half hour. The staff were great, the doctor was fantasic. He even gave me his email address incase I had any questions down the road. I highly recommend Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital. I will definitely be using them again.

My first visit today and I am very happy with the clinic. Everyone was so friendly and I loved Dr. Stephen Krome!!! Hes the best! He took his time with me and my cat and it really showed that he really cares about my cats health.☺ I am very glad that I ran across the clinic on the Internet.☺ I feel very comfortable with the clinic and I do believe that I have found a good place for my cat.☺And, I felt they are reasonably priced.☺

Lauren charmed our pup from the get-go, Dr. Krome answered all of our questions and calmed all fears (human and canine alikeAnd the bonus was a special pedicure for the doggie, who being a very paw shy critter was handled with grace and kind care. Dr. Krome, his vet techs, and office personnel were excellent in the care of my Siberian Husky.They went above the standard of care. They provided comfort for a fearful dog. He tolerated the procedure pre and post operatively great due to their guidance. Its great to know your pet is in good hands, after having a bad experience at another SR yet .Thank you kindly

Best Damn Vet in Sonoma County! Truly care about your pet not your wallet. You do have to pay but they always go above and beyond what you pay for. Great people from the front office to the back. If you love your pet like family and want to take care of them from the front to the back this is the place to go! Trust me i dont have a lot of money but when I got my dogs back, I was 100% satisfied with every dime I spent! Ive been to a few vets in Sonoma County and not only is this the best priced but the best care my pets ever received. Dont waste your time elsewhere The Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital is the only place you need to go. To hell with 5 stars I give them 100 stars!!!!

Dr. Steve Krome is the BEST! Highly knowledgeable, kind and interested in doing the most for your pet as if it was his own. We never feel rushed and always leave feeling all our questions have been answered. The office staff are all very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this clinic for your pets!

This is the best clinic in town. The staff is very caring and loves to spend time with your pet. The Dr. is a down to earth man who takes the time to go over everything with you. I have never felt like he was in a rush to get me out the door so he could get to the next thing he had to do. He found a treatment for my dog that has made a huge change in our life. He is like a puppy again wanting to play and run.

I have had cats all my life, and been to various vets over the years. So, it is with this basis for comparison that I can say Dr. Krome is excellent.I was worried about taking Maximus anywhere. I inherited him a year ago, and the previous owner said she had never taken him to the vet. He doesnt like to be picked up, and I was worried about stuffing him in a cat carrier and hauling him away from home for some poking, prodding and shots.Max didnt like the trip (to be expected), but Dr. Krome and his staff were top notch in how they handled him. Max endured it all (even the thermometer in his backsidewith surprising calm.The surprise for me was the bill, which was lower than I expected. When I read the other reviews, I discovered a 2011 review where a pet owner wrote a long diatribe about rates. It certainly didnt match my experience. And, to be fair, it should be noted that Dr. Krome didnt own the business then, either.I particularly like the fact that his vet has a special certification for cat handling--not something all vets can claim.All said, I highly recommend Dr. Krome and Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital!

We just moved from Canada to the US and had excellent vet care in our home country. We were worried about finding a good vet here in Santa Rosa, but one meeting with Dr. Bloomberg and we know weve found the best. Not just the best here, but the best weve EVER had. Hes kind, extremely knowledgeable and takes his time with each animal he sees, providing all the details you need and more to make good decisions about your pets care. The rest of the staff are amazing, too.Were extremely happy and feel very fortunate to have found Santa Rosa Veterinary Hospital. Highly recommended.
