Schmidt's Landing in Roberts County

I have not stayed overnight night here. I have a place on the lake but visit here often. The owners are fantastic! Great place.

Pulled our camper there in Oct. and stayed in a store to do some ice fishing in Feb. Great place to stay and very affordable! Great people!

Great place to stay and fish from. Everything you need is at the waters edge. Nice lodging and great owners.

Stayed at the Pelican Paradise and found it to be extremely accommodating for 4 guys to stay in. The fish cleaning house was well kept up as Jenny and Adam was there taking buckets of fish guts out as they filled up also. Will definitely be visiting there again!!

Just finished a two night stay in their west unit. Rooms were clean, comfortable and adequately stocked kitchen. Friendliness of the two owners was top notch off the chart. It shows they care about their facility, grounds and their guests. Adam even met us in the rain to help us dock the pontoon we rented from them. Great place to head out fishing from. Perch and bluegills are abundant without having to travel far. There were four of us for two days. We kept 105 perch and 29 bluegills. Minnesota limits were 120 and 40 respectively. Due its border status you can fish from the South Dakota side only a Minnesota license. It was my first visit and 3-4 year repeat visits for the other guys. Remember to bring a pillow, blankets, towels and dish towels. Sheets are provided though. Black house flies are very prevalent however. Mildly bothersome but at least they’re not the biting kind! I kept forgetting to bring a few dead ones out on the boat to see they would enhance my fish catch. Grubs on white 1/8 ounce jig heads for the sunfish and on gold for the perch 1 foot off the bottom in 10-12 feet of water off small points of land.

Very well maintained and continues to improve on whats there. Fishing from the docks was great. Will continue to come back. This was our third stay and Continued to meet all my expectations. Cant beat the value at this resort.

Very friendly and helpful. I stopped by to check on camping spots for a few weeks this summer. They are booked but I can see why with the place as nice as this.

I stayed here this summer with my son to go fishing. I paid their rates and we bought all of our daily snacks and 2 meals a day along with getting all of our bait and fishing licenses. To say the least we spent a lot of money. After inquiring about the ice fishing we were told to come back and try the ice fishing. We could use their boat ramp by buying daily and week passes. Well we drove 8 hours to come ice fishing and were refused use of the boat ramp unless we paid the $100×4guys for a couple days. We tried to rent a room from them and they were reserved for only the local bait shop since he had fish houses on Big Stone Lake. I guess they own the Lake or atleast they act like they do. Basically price gouging those who dont buy everything through Arties Bait Shop and themselves. Dont promise people to come back and stay with you if you are going to Monopolize the ice fishing season!!

Had a great experience at Schmidt’s Landing. Prime fishing spot if you having been here before as many fishermen came just to fish. Would definitely return since owners were really pleasant & environment was welcoming. A lot of nice seasonal people at the location. Has cabin & RV spaces to rent. A fish cleaning station. Boat & pontoon rentals available. Showers & bathrooms were more than adequate! However, hours for showers maybe limited.Had a chance to play a little golf as well.

This was our first time staying at Schmidts. The resort overall is very tidy. Staff is present and easy to speak to anytime for any reason. They have 4+ docks some with build in seating. Very nice boat launch area, a full concrete slab. The restroom facilities available for weekend campers were actually spotless! Overall a very nice resort and great spaces for children. I would highly recommend Schmidts Landing.

First time being here . We came on a last minute trip with our ice house. They went above and beyond to help us get on the lake and helpful with any questions we had. Easy to get on and off the lake. Very accommodating and reasonably priced. We are looking forward to another trip here and would highly recommend.

Jenny & Adam and their family are amazing! We had our first year of our camper down there. Lots of family fun.

Stayed the night when we ice fished big stone. Clean rooms right by the lake. I also frequently stop when Im on the lake for bait and fishing reports etc..Jeny and Adam are great and so is their place!

Didnt catch a lot of fish. But the animals are amazing there.

Jeni and Adam were wonderful! We stayed in the middle of June. They were very accommodating and friendly. The prices were great and the rooms were comfortable. Our cabin was updated and look great. The playground for the little children was really nice. My husband and I had our sons, daughter-in-law and grandson joined us. There was plenty of room for everyone, even a curious toddler.My husband and I enjoyed it so much we booked another vacation in July. We plan on going back next year and in the years to come. Great place to have a family reunion, vacation and relax or go fishing. Jeni will give you the information about the hot fishing spots.

We had a group of 4 families stay at Schmidts Landing. Everyone had a great time. Jenny and Adam were great and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The rooms and grounds were well kept and clean. We have already rebooked for next year.

The new owners are great and have been wonderful. It is a great place to stay. Everyone I have met here has nothing but great things to say about staying here and coming back year after year to the resort. The suite I stayed in has a gas stove, refrigerator, microwave, and two rooms with two double beds. There is also a sofa sleeper in the main room. Wifi is available and they have dish network as well. This will be our new home base for vacation while living in Fargo.

I called Schmidts landing a few days before I travelled to reserve a room. I spoke with Jenny, one if the owners, who was happy to answer all of my questions. She was also very accommodating in the fact that we could have the room in the morning since I was wanting to take a nap before heading into work for the night shift. Our cabin was very clean and in excellent condition. The playground is great for the kids and Jenny was happy to provide us with complimentary coffee and hot cocoa. Will definitely stay here again if I ever work near by.

My family and I have been going to Schmidts Landis for 5 years and love it. Fishing is good, people are nice, and its a great family environment.

Very clean - right on the water! The new owners are wonderful! Enjoyed my time we spent at the lake side suites! Our room was right on the water with a great view. They come complete with everything youd possibly want and best of all - they are spotlessly clean. Very nice! If need be I would not hesitate to use their facility again. Thanks again Jenny we appreciate your hospitality very much!

I have enjoyed my stay. Comfortable kitchenette. Jenny and Adam are awesome folks and the new owners. Ice fishing has been good they have a nice cleaning station with a friendly little kitty to keep you company while your cleaning fish. Ill be back this summer for sure.

Excellent place to stay! This is our 3rd summers staying on a permanent camp spot and we LOVE IT! The owners are FABULOUS & the resort is awesome! Great convenience of the store: pizza, snacks, groceries, beverages, bathrooms with showers, firewood, bait & gas up your boat from the water! Guests may use the playground, swim area, kayaks, paddle boats and many docks to fish from. They also have their own private boat ramp to launch your boat and the fishing is amazing! They have campsites, cabins and boats to rent: call to make reservation. Great place to stay!

We were just driving around looking at the different places to shy on big stone lake. They looked very clean and nice.

It was really pretty and the lake was really fun!

Friendly environment, very clean, I love that them allow fire works for the forth of July, have nice fishing docks and boat access, nice playground for kids.

My wife, son and I have a wonderful, although short stay, at Schmidts Landing in late July 2013. The owner/operators are wonderful and very accommodating. The accommodations are immaculate and very well maintained. We had surprisingly good fishing for so late in the season. It was a very relaxing mini-vacation and good for the soul! I highly recommend Schmidts Landing for someone or family wanting a very nice vacation away from it all.
