I learned very easy listening class and so hard reading class in the same ESL level back to 2018-2019. It’s ridiculous because I paid 3500USD very two months.Simply raising standards without giving students the means of reaching them, is a recipe for disaster. It just pushes the poorly prepared or poorly motivated students into failure and out of school.

Not a great choice for students taking classes from home…. During my time at this school I felt very unsupported.Pros:AffordableTransferrable programsCons-very little communication from advising, bad attitudes and unhelpful. If advisors are overwhelmed, they need to hire more.-very little communication from financial aid.-confusing student portal, interface and flow for enrolling in classes is a counterintuitive mess.-most instructors communicate very little, don’t thoroughly read your assignments, and are almost always late posting grades/feedback. Feedback and correction is useless on the next assignment, if I don’t get it on time. With the exception of some diamonds in the rough, I felt that the instructors were practically non existent. (Thanks prof. Kirkland :!)-Instructors in STEM courses need to provide more resources. I had a geography course where I had zero communication, support, or research provided from the instructor. In contrast, the art history class I took had an amazing instructor, provided dozens of videos and lectures, lectures were up to date, and I DID feel supported. Kind of sad when your STEM instructors can’t keep pace with art electives instructors.I’ve taken courses in person and online at multiple community colleges. There are better options out there, move on.For over a month I attempted to reach out to advising, registration, and FA and nobody could simply help me get signed up for classes. I received multiple condescending emails, pointing me in a triangular goose chase between reg, FA, and advising.Now I have missed out on thousands of dollars worth of financial aid for classes, because someone couldn’t email me back and help me. By the time I DID receive a phone call, it was an advisor with a snarky attitude who seemed amused to inform me that all classes were full. Thanks a bunch.-Bran

Years ago I applied and had everything ready. Then I go to enroll for classes and they tell me I CANT. Why? Because I was missing the tour. And Im Talking to this lady as I see the tour going on. OKAY. I dont need a tour and Im not here to learn the history about the place it wont help me with my education. And finding classes isnt going to be hard. Were in college we know how to count and use common sense we made it this far.

Absolutely the worst type of service and care ive received from a community college. Nothing is organized, lack of proper communication is VERY present, when you FINALLY get a hold of someone they either loop you to someone else or they give you attitude that isnt necessary. It took me 3 1/4 years to get my 2 year A.A. degree because of how ridiculously irritating they make everything! I had to take breaks between quarters because of how HARD they make it for you to get in your classes. From financial aid, to payment, to advisors, even to the library who wont let you return books on time, absolutely unprofessional and poorly run. 0/10, do not recommend.

After spending one quarter here, my experience was so bad, I decided to switch to a different school. Good luck getting ahold of any of the staff in enrollment, financial aid, advising, or any other department. Quality of class materials was pretty pathetic. Also the physical building in downtown seattle is dirty, aged, and surrounded by trash. This school is just plain sad and will be a waste of your time.

Was a student here. Professors cared about my success and life. I transferred to UW after attending here! Affordable and useful.

Missing paperwork, unanswered emails, suddenly cancelled classes, lack of equipment, mysterious layoffs, and minimal assignments, all with barely a word to students that anything might be going wrong. Now I love community colleges, but it doesnt feel great to pay a few thousand for this.

They are the WORST school. All the staff is completely disorganized. They do not respond to emails or phone calls. They give inaccurate information. They are really bullocks!

Ive taken a lot of classes here. Ive done community education classes in Italian, writing, and watercolor painting. All of the instructors are really qualified and nice.

I ripped a sick vape and went interstellar. Catch me on the flip side of reality. Peace on broadway.

I was studying for my A.A degree here and most of the professors I had were really nice and well-prepared for their classes. (May not speak to your experience depending on what classes you were taking or what program you were in)The student:instructor ratio was perfect and I got to know my classmates and instructor more!The campus is pretty small, so its easy to navigate for new students (you will get to know most of the places in one day or even one afternoon).SCC was located in a vibrant community and its a really convenient location. Thats one reason why I chose SCC instead of other community colleges at that time.My favorite food at the cafeteria was Vietnamese sandwich (with porkhahahahaha

Cafeteria is terrible. There is a big woman here and she is not nice. I do not know her name but she seems like a supervisor there. She often show the attitude and let people wait for a long time to go somewhere to do something else. One time I bought a cup of soup (big one), but she filled only 3/4 of cup (the same amount of small cupand showed attitude.Classes are limited. Students often can not register the classes they want. Most chinese international students can not speak english, even after they graduate from this college (wonder how this college still let people who can not even speak english to graduate). Cheating often happens in this college but professor seem like they do not care (most of cheaters are international students)

This review is for the testing center. I used to get my exams proctored here for some of my online classes. The staff are really nice, but theyre also very disorganized. They have a walk-in policy, but wouldnt let me scheduled an exact time for my exam, and often I would be told to come back or be left waiting for 30 minutes. Despite taking at least 6 exams here, they always had issues with administering my exam and were always confused about the instructions. I ended up switching my center to Shoreline CC even though is was much farther away and had a better experience there.

Annie John has been the most brilliant teacher I have come across. Her knowledge and wisdom to understand each and every sequence in order to simplify the problem in the most effecient way has helped guide me in learning which direction my mind enjoys learning. It seems a lot of the students are not patient enough to do the work. It is also difficult to help teach a full spectrum of minds learning all a different way. Annie has helped unite us students and work together in accepting our failure as a learning lesson in addition to making it fun. Thank you.

Dont even bother coming here, stay away like plague. The Allied Health is an extreme joke where they plan intentionally to confuse and harass unassuming students. Joni Whitsitt in particular is a disgusting racist, arrogant, illiterate individual who has never acquired any kind of degree, much less do simplest math or ever run the class AV machine. She has no reasonable or organized proficiency assessment, but rather this arrogant individual only passes whom she likes in the class. She will design tests to fail half the class, having never explained or covered anything in class and then suddenly allow only the students she likes to do a makeup exam. She is extremely disorganized and always comes to class complaining how she was overworked at some other job and has no sleep or time for students here. She will text and call the entire planet to try to dig up negative information on persons she decides she doesnt like. If you just look at her, you see she has a nervous uncontrolled tremor, but she has the audacity to look at people and tell them they have no motor skills and insult them saying they cant learn. She repeatedly uses vulgar and degrading language in class but then goes around blaming others for her inappropriate language. Just another huge obvious reason this school has no interest in their students, the teachers have zero academic credentials or ability to teach and they put arrogant degrading illiterate individuals like this in managerial teaching positions simply to harass and intimidate unassuming students. Zero stars, only a negative rating at best and stay away from Allied Health here at all cost.

Had a good time when I went to school here. Classes were expensive for international students but the majority of teachers I had here made me feel at home for 2 and half years there I won’t forget. This review is long over due. Thank you.

Weird staff members, they know everything but they dont tell anything until the last min they keep you running around go there ask there and no solution huh just wasting your time. unprofessional, unorganized, and impolite staff they saw you like you owe their money.

It started when I went to the Seattle Central College Disability Support Services on Monday 6-11-18 at 9:00 AM to get my accommodations because I am a student with a disability that needs accommodations to be able to succeed in my classes like every other student. I met with Al Souma the disability Counselor/Faculty and Cebrina Chavez Program Coordinator in their office.I asked nicely for Al Souma to check his email that would explain why I was meeting with him on Monday 6-11-18 and the accommodations that I wanted so I could succeed so Al Souma "asked me to explain the email" so I did and said I would please like an accommodation letter with the accommodations that I requested and all of sudden Al Souma got close up to my face like our noses literately could of been touching each other thats how close he got and Al Souma said "I am not going to accommodate you what you gonna do about it" I almost fell out of my chair and I could tell he looked like he might be reaching for a weapon so I told him I am going to security and all of a sudden I had major breathing problems and so I left the Disability Support Services office trying to get help looking for security but no security guard was at their post.I had to walk up to the 4th floor to the administration office to get help all the way from the 1st floor and when I got to the administration office where the presidents of the colleges are and "I asked for help please call security and explained Al Souma might be armed and call 911 I cant breath please help me" the secretary tried to reach security and told me "no I am not calling 911" I could feel I was about to die I was fainting and I kept saying "help call 911 I cant breath" and that went on for 2 to 3 minutes that the secretary kept saying "Im not calling 911" then Angelique Odom Executive Assistant to President Sheila Edwards Lange Seattle Central College walks out of the corner and says "Well I guess you should just call 911" as if she did not care and I am still saying "help me" and no one is helping me I am still about to run out of breath and pass out everyone was just staring.When the secretary called 911 she did not really want to answer their questions once so ever and they never followed protocol by having the 911 people hear my breathing issue. She was trying every power she could not to answer their questions. She hung up the phone I am still asking for "help I cant breath" it took a while for security to come mean while everyone in the administration office just staring at me like it is all funny and no one even asked me hey do you need an inhaler, paper bag or water they just stood their as I was slowing dying away. When security came he tried to ask me what was going on and wanted to call my parents and we where able to get my dad on the phone at first and he said he would be there soon.The Fire Department came and said your breathing levels are really high and the other scary thing was the fire department was trying to make up every excuse of why I was breathing so heavily and did not want to hear my side of the story "I tried to explain to them about my disability, also that I am highly allergic to almonds and that I feel scared for my life and that there is a dangerous man on campus possibly armed with a weapon." Plus neither did they asked me if I needed an inhaler, paper bag or water. They did not even really want to do their jobs I tried my best to asked for a report they said "you cant get one" now in my mind as I am still having breathing issues I am thinking to myself I never heard of that before not being able to get a summary of the report. I felt like it was over for me if my dad did not get there because no one was trying to help. The fire Department never did their jobs correctly neither did the school where I almost died which is wrong.

The worse college I have been to of trying to get enrolled too so far. Lack of communication and a bunch of getting the run around. The orientation is a joke they dont explain a whole lot. You will be sent from one department for one thing and then to and one for something else and still dont get everything you need. They dont tell you what you need until the last min. than it to late. This is my third day and still have not been enrolled yet because they dont tell you everything up front. And there is no one to help you. You are literally getting the run around with no guidance. Now I have to start all over because I know there are better college out there than this one. I really thought this college would be more helpful but boy I was wrong. BIG JOKE AND A WASTE OF TIME!!!!

Also an international student here, but absolutely love this school. Spent good times with great professors and awesome friends in SCC. Staff I met in the school were all supportive and helpful. I guess it’s what kind of person you are that defines your opinion of SCC.

My cousin goes here and he loves his teachers. Theyve been very supportive the whole time.

I have called them multiple times, just trying to get information regarding enrollment ... not once have I been able to talk to a person!! If they run the college like they run the answering service, the college is a BIG FAIL!

I have been to the admissions office, the registration office, the cashier, and the advising office. They have all been polite and have been able to answer any question I could come up with. The gentleman in the advising office was really great, and Tony (the veteran repis always very quick to respond and assist in any way.

People on the front desk are no welcome or helpful. The testing center lady looks at you like if you owe her money. I have been trying to register and every time I cant because something is missing. Please if you donde like to help students and you are no paciente, do not take a job in a college. You are not happy and you are making students life more difficult

I dont know who is running the show there but they must make some changes......pronto. Not welcomes, boring and annoying. Not visitng there again.

Closed before 5. Im surprised they dont have a circus program, given how many goddamn hoops I had to jump through to deal with these guys.

Not feel welcome there. Test center staff was eating during the students took the test.Staff and instructor should be patient to talk to new students as well as explain the lesson. Not a good school to recommend.

Best college in Seattle for people who wanna take ESL classes also its cheaper than other colleges

I took an intro philosophy course here and was asked to participate less (as were a few other students in my class). The professor had a specific idea of how the class should participate (50% one class, the other 50% the next class, and so on). I have taken other courses through SCCC, none of which were the least bit challenging.

The faculty are very unprofessional and duplicitous. They will retaliate against you if you assert yourself, and demand that your rights under the law be respected.

Both students and teachers are diverse, it was all right for me.

The administrative staff is really aweful and really unwilling to help students! prof are ok! they love to shatmre the political and lack of religious beliefs without even being asked! go to North Seattle Community if you can! try to avoid this college at all cost!

SCC is a great College, really committed to providing good education. Very diverse and friendly atmosphere. The administrative staff is OK but they are very confusing about college procedures and information. You have to ask any question for more than one person to be sure.

Solid professors, administration could use more structure but Ive enjoyed the campus and the students

I chose this school for my first college experience for multiple reasons. I heard from friends and the community of Seattle about the diversity among the students and instructors, which I found to be true. My instructors were, for the most part, incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The only complaint I have would be the lack of options for courses and instructors in the Social and Human Services program. I expected a lot more options for class times and instructors. Other than that, I had a great first quarter and I look forward to many more.

Financial aid is a mess. Everytime Ive had a question and gone to them for clarification, theyve been upset at me for needing to ask. Its their job to answer those questions especially when the information isnt provided anywhere accessible.

I have never seen a school so disorganized and out of date in all of my life it takes 1 month to process any kind of paper work and no one seems to know whats going on.When you try to get something done one person will tell you that you need to get a form from a different office then, when you get there that person has no clue what it is you are talking about. The counselors have no idea who you are or what they told you the last time you spoke with them. Very Poor organization. Poor administration. Poor enrollment services. Poor Financial Aid Staff. I will be taking my hard earned money to a different School.
