Beautifully maintained course. Challenging but fair course with an interesting layout.
Beautiful place. Lunch was amazing! Thank you!
Nice short course. In good shape. Friendly staff. Nice tavern attached.
Nice golf. Okay layout and good pace of play
Course is nice and staff was friendly. Lots of houses though and Im not the greatest golfer so w had some pretty nervous shots. Overall though it was fine and we enjoyed ourselves.
Very good value- the greens were in very good shape! Staff was beyond friendly. One of my golf shoes fell apart and they let me use their shoes. Super nice staff. It was interesting as many homes and a parking lot hugged many holes.Overall I can not say anything negative around the course. I would play it again
Five stars very good service and Ill definitely be back as long as you keep having Kristen morganstern there to sing
Been there several times and never disappointed. Good food and great entertainment. Friendly staff.
Was at Friends of Pete networking event great food and service
Course was in great shape. We had a great day and staff was friendly and courteous. Could not say anything negative of our experience for the day! Just attended another golf event this time with lunch. Again did not disappoint golf was great and the course was in very good condition. Lunch was a sandwich on the smaller size but with great taste. We also could not pass up the chili cheese fries! Another great experience!
Great golf course. Food and drink is great for the 19th hole 😊. Not a golfer, stop over anyway to eat! Live music Friday and Saturday nights 🎵🎶🎵🎶
Played a golf outing here. Great course. Greens were fast and rolled true.
Good food, great entertainment, great service. It is a very nice venue.
Very dry - ground was hard trying to get your tee in the ground - grass was too long.
Forgot my range finder in the cart because I was in a huge hurry and they never turned it in. Besides the staff the course is a dirt track. Cant believe they get away with charging 40 on a weekday.
Very nice front desk clerk and beautiful surroundings and well maintained fair ways and greens
So the beautiful SO and I went here for a party. A sweet 16 if you will. The place did a great job of it. The food was more geared to teenagers with which they nailed it! The food was hot fresh and well prepared. The service was great as well. We could see a big tent outback that was rocking with live music and a bar. This is where it gets bad. The bartenders both ignored my wife u til I get Ped and bellowed “excuse me” to get their attention. Sorry hit it worked. Anyways other than that. It was all in all a nice place.
Recently booked a tee time on golf now for a group of 3 golfers at 1:50. Myself and 2 other people go to check in, and the women in the pro shop blatantly tells me I have to golf with some random person to fill my group. Now it never mentioned anything about this on golf now and if it did I would have never booked the tee time. So I politely suggested that the person could just golf behind us in separate carts. Then some guy walks out of the office and tells me there isn’t enough carts. When walking into the pro shop there are 10 carts sitting outside. Then the man basically tells me I should golf with some random person I don’t know for 3 hours in the same cart or don’t golf at all. Instead of offering some other way to go about things. So I ended up leaving but the 2 people I were with ended up golfing. They called me after their round and told me there was a single golfer golfing in front of them and there wasn’t people behind them for multiple holes, so why couldn’t this person tee off in front of us or behind us ?! When they came back after 9 there was 15 carts at the pro shop. So that single golfer that was in front of them didn’t have to be paired up with anyone. But I had to be in order to golf. The man in the pro shop was extremely rude and not accommodating. I actually worked there for 3 years when it was under different management and we never treated people like that. This place has gone down hill and it’s sad. I will never golf here again and I will make sure everyone knows how they treat their customers.
I golf here regularly and find the course to be in excellent condition. Staff is courteous and friendly. Rates are very reasonable.
One of the few places open at this time that Ive found. I enjoyed my round. Course in good condition for time of season. Tee boxes were moved which is normal for right now but they were at very odd positions when I played. Besides that, good stuff. Ill be playing again soon.
My first time playing here. The greens were a challenge for me. I enjoyed playing and will definitely be back. Staff was super friendly.
First time playing there. Shorter course rewards a good tee shot. Course was in nice shape. Will play again.
Great place, attended a Golf Tournament, everything was well run and the staff was extremely accommodating.
Had a great round of golf and appreciated the updates made to the course. Had dinner and enjoyed the live music. Suggestion for the cook- please serve browned butter with the steam clams. Great day!
Food was okay, not impressed with the drinks.
Foundation Tavern: Great outdoor setting. Price for 4 for meals and a drink (3 were alcoholic beverageswith 20% tip, $113.
Went to the ice cream part only. It was a nice experience. Prices were reasonable. I asked for a single scoop and got a true single scoop!! I like ice cream but most places I get kiddie scoop because single scoops are usually enormous. It was just enough ice cream. And to top off my experience, they had gluten free cones. Score!!!!! Girls behind counter were supper friendly. They have Penn State Creamery Ice Cream.
Very clean,beautiful course
Very nice layout, greens in great shape staff very friendly. If you didnt know where you were playing you would mistake it for a course in Myrtle Beach.
The condition of the course was very good. The greens were especially well kept. They were soft and lush, which is saying something with the hot weather. The greens were undulating and not easy to putt. Two drawbacks for me were that most of the holes were nondescript, all fairly straight forward and the par 3 holes each were between 140 and 150 yards which made them fairly routine, with little variability. If you live in the Lehigh Valley, I believe the upkeep of this course makes it one you would like to play.
A nice place for people to hang at, the bar I was at was outdoors with a roof and plenty of shade. I was with a large party that didnt require an memberships. Plenty of draft beer choices and a nice range of liquor selections to choose from. If youre into golf this would be a great place to grab a drink before your tee time as well as a drink after playing the course. Very friendly bartenders.
My wife and I played there last week. The course was in great shape. Fairways and greens were very good. Better than a private club I played 2 weeks ago. Only a little downside was the signage between holes was a little sketchy.
The Sanctuary At Haafsville animal rescue had its first golf tournament here on May 28. The staff did an outstanding job of helping to make the event very successful. I huge Thank you to Shepherd Hills for making this a wonderful event!!
Good course for the price. Challenging but not overly complex and allows you to play most of the clubs in your bag
Shepherd Hills is a good all around course for the price. The greens are small and force you to be accurate coming in and they are challenging to putt but fair on the breaks. The fairways are in good shape. The tee boxes could use some flattening out. The course workers are very friendly and make for an enjoyable round of golf.
Greens are in GREAT shape!! Fairways cut, tee boxes smooth, not full of divots!!Brand NEW paved cart paths!! Sand traps, I thought i was playing in Augusta today!!!My hats off to management and EVERYONE of the employees at Foundation Tavern too!!!Wooow!!! Woow!! Woow!! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL COURSE!! You willows playing it!!
First time playing there today. Very challenging layout. The greens were all top dressed with sand and were all undulating. Tight fairways among houses. Normally I dont like residential courses, but I was pleasantly surprised. NOTE: Plan on spending a long time there. Course is hugely popular!
Covid complaint. Love their Hamilton burger. Great staff. Whether casual dining, event ie wedding, birthday party or shower or getting out on the course youll have a great time.
Whoever the kid working inside the clubhouse on October 4th needs to be fired. It’s a shame a classy game has someone with none working in it. I made a simple phone call shortly after completing my round asking for him to check cart #37 for a GPS device in the cup holder. He made a smart remark and said he’ll let me know if someone turns it in. Called back 15 mins later and asked if he could simply walk 10ft outside and check cart #37 or call out to the Starter to check, he said he was “really busy” and hung up. Believe me, the course was not busy. I won’t be returning here and will spread the word about the lack of simple customer service at Shepherd Hills Golf, which is a shame because the Starter was a doll.
In the tiers of golf courses this is a generic local course you wouldnt travel far to play, but is a 5 star amongst its peers. Theyve done a great job in past year or two updating bunkers, adding irrigation and now boast some of the most lush, consistent greens around. If you are a newer golfer, need some practice rounds, want to save a few bucks or just enjoy the experience more than making lists of expensive courses youve played then its a good course. It has a few holes you could hit a house on (1, 2, 9, 10, 18but you can always take a shorter club. The staff is friendly, it has returning 9s so you can get beverage or bathroom, theres portajohns out, and its a very walkable course. Its an easy tee time to get and they host a ton of outings if you check their website.
Convuluted layout, forgiving fairways but lined by houses. Greens were in good shape but players are very guilty of not fixing ball marks. Nice outdoor bar and restaurant area for the 19th hole!
Decent course. Its one of the easier in the area, with basically no water and minimal elevation change. It is houses on both sides for most of the course, which is alright so there arent other golfers hitting into your fairway. Staff was fine. They had a starter cart but no starter ever showed up.
Giving it 4 stars for fish tacos. Course is maintained well but very tight. I wish the greens fees were a little cheaper though for what you get
We played Shepherd Hills in an outing and the course was fantastic. The greens were perfect and the course is very player friendly. The food afterward was delicious. We also visited the Hut afterward and the atmosphere was great. Great drink selection and good atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Great place to play a round of golf and get drinks after. The price is right for the course conditions. I did not care that the fairways need watering and the course needs some work. I got great practice for 21.00 with cart.
If you spray your shots you will be hitting houses, parked cars, and anything else that can be damaged. I played this course many times but many years ago and it was a rather tight course then. Recently played here and now almost every yard of every hole is ringed by houses or other buildings. The course layout and development along its perimeter demands accuracy. Its short enough to play most holes with irons but theres not much sand, almost no water, and only 1 dog-leg. It will be tempting to try to reach some of the par 4 greens on your drive but you better be routinely laser-accurate.
Great golf course that is fairly challenging. Most of the course has houses on either side so the fairways are pretty tight. Their clubhouse is pretty nice too. Havent had a bad experience here yet.
Played here twice this year. Both times after heavy rains. Everything was soggy and muddy but I was impressed it was even playable. Im just a beginner but I had a good time playing here. If you have a tendency to hit everything to the right like I do be ready to lose several balls in the neighbors yards though...
Cheapest golf in the area. Greens are challenging and in great condition. The rest of the course leaves some to be desired, though. Lots of hard, barren spots in the fairway and the rough isn’t long enough to make it important to hit the fairway anyway. Still a decent course for the money if you don’t mind all the houses lining most holes.
Very pleased to see such an improvement since the last time I was here! Went Saturday April 8,2017 and had an excellent experience. I hope they continue to keep the course in this kind of shape all season. I will definitely go back! PS the restaurant is currently under construction (renovation).
