Shoops Country Campground in Juniata County

Shoops was a great place to stay. The owner is very hospitable and friendly.

Amazing campground!

I couldnt really give a rating cause I havent been there. I plan to drive thru there sometime in the future. I gave a 4 star for now because I only called for pricing.

Quiet, relaxing and everyone was helpful and very nice. Definitely would stay again.

My husband and I have been camping at Shoops for 7 years. Its one big family here. Fred and Sue has always been respectful and friendly towards us and others at the campground. They care for all the campers and everything that goes on there. We enjoy our time up at shoops and Fred and Sue hospitality.

I camped at Shoops after visiting friends at their seasonal site for awhile. I purchased an old camper and the site was horrible. I invested a lot of money into improving the campsite and, changed the older camper out with a new one eventually. My dog did not like the hour drive (breathing issuesand my Mother was going into a nursing home. I had a lot going on at the time and decided to sell the entire package deal of a camper/cart, and improvements to the campsite. I never said a thing bad about the campground and really actually enjoyed camping there and missed it. After my Mother (and also Fatherpassing away, and my dog losing weight and being on meds to help with breathing, I decided to try camping back at shoops after I found several campers for sale in the campground. After finding one I like and coming up with a deal. I went to talk to the campground owner Fred, and Sue. I couldnt find Fred but did find Sue in the campground. She immediately became hostile and said that I was bashing them online after I left the campground the last time. She was swearing and even told me I was a liar. She said that I did wrong to the buyer of the camper I sold there. I took a $10,000 loss on the camper I sold there, and I sold it as is, with a transferable warranty. It was impossible that I did wrong to the buyer of my camper. I came home just now to search Facebook, Google Reviews, etc to find where I wrote anything bad about the campground ever. I cannot locate anything. Sue also could not provide me proof of these things I supposively wrote bad about them. I was so shocked about the mean and hurtful things she said to me, and the way she disrespected me. I called several people who have or currently camp there. They told me that Sue can be very disrespectful, loud and swears often. I am shocked because for the time I was at the campground, she never was that way toward me. I always paid my site a year ahead, and as I said invested a lot of money improving the campsite that I had. I come to find out, a lot of campground drama broke out a year ago, among some "campground clicks or groups", and most likely I tried to return to the campground and got stuck in the middle of it. With that said, I would steer clear of the Shoops Campground. There are various other campgrounds (Buttonwood and Wildwood to name twoin the same area with more to do, maybe even better maintained that does not come with un-necessary drama created in at least partly by the campground owner Sue. Sue claims to be religious but after how she treated me (a paying customerwith her foul mouth, I certainly question that as well. "Family Friendly Campground" I think not.

Very friendly people, especially owners, nice campground, lots of trees and its not packed in like some campgrounds are. Will go back!

Extremely nice people, lots of trees, very comfortable setting. Not overcrowded and cramped like alot of places cram them in. Definitely going back!

I love this campground!! Everyone is so friendly and its peaceful quiet and for those of you who want to place where there arent a ton of kids running around this is the campground for you!! The owners are absolutely amazing!! Its nice and Shady under the trees... the landscape is beautiful and the owners provide activities sometimes on the weekend for everybody to get involved in🥰🥰🥰

My family had a spot at Shoops for 10 years. Everyobe is so friendly. Sue and Fred are great people.

We have a permanent site at Shoop’s. Fred and Sue are wonderful people and the campground is quiet and peaceful. Juniata river and Tuscarora creek close by for great small mouth bass fishing

We have our camper parked there year round. Friends, food and fun!

Super nice owners along with the seasonal folks that are there. Very eager to make your stay comfortable. Very calm, quiet and peaceful. The kids enjoyed the animals that they have.

The owners are extremely kind and were very helpful and considerate when it came to the little bit of bad weather that rolled through. The view is beautiful from the field. Everything is very clean, seems great for families and they hold various events! Dont forget to say hello to the cows. And catch the amazing sunset if you can.
