I called because I got a letter in the mail I was on hold for an hour which didn’t bother me I understand that it gets busy but what I didn’t appreciate was how rude the lady was when she answered the phone I get that maybe she had a day but that’s not an excuse for how she talked to me

I had the best experience here. Security was so nice! Once my things were scanned and I walked through the metal detector, they told me where to go to find the social security office.I was greeted when I walked in to the security office and given a mask (they still wear masks in this office). They had me sign in at the kiosk and then wait for my number to be called. I think I sat there for less than 2 minutes when my number was called. They told me to go to a weird window, so security pointed me in the correct direction. They even walked back to make sure I made it.The person at the window was really nice. He helped me get my name changed and it took probably 3 minutes max. I was in and out of this place within 10 minutes. Going through security took the longest because there were two groups ahead of me.From the beginning to the end, every single person I encountered was sweet! Even the janitor smiled and said hello! I will 100% visit this location again.

I’ve changed my address over the phone god knows how many times and the mail STILL gets sent to the wrong address or they close my case before I even get the mail. This is getting ridiculous.

Miss T. Window C so kind and sweet she help us out tremendously, completed our applications and got us the interview appointment for next week. It was completed within half an hour, the waiting time in front of the building was about 40 minutes and for the interview for the following week by Mr. J. only took 40 minutes. I’m very happy and satisfied with the services.

After searching the website and being sent to links to non-working websites, I eventually found information paper (EN-05-10514to give instructions on getting Social Security card replacement for child. Brought in documentation as stated on paper and was told that I needed the child present to get card. I stated that it said nothing about that on their instruction paper, and the clerk pulled the paper down looked at it and acknowledged that it wasn’t on there. I’m willing to comply, but when this agency can’t even get their act together and put the information required on their information sheets, how is a person supposed to get things right. Would somebody at Social Security please read this and do something about it? If you have specific requirements please post that on the requirement sheet otherwise allow the person who followed the information on the sheet do their business. The person at least acknowledged my frustration and said they would kick my suggestions up the chain of command. Unfortunately it was an experience of ineffective government bureaucracy at its finest! Two thumbs down.

Have always gotten great service. Some staff are not as friendly as others 🙂 but recognizing theyve had a hard day with a comment or just being patient with an attitude of thankfulness 95% of time changes everything.

On hold for 2 1/2 hours to get info that isn’t online then the lady was so rude and gave me a local Number the closest place is a hour away and the number I repeated 2x back to her won’t go through there has to be an easier way

Not too bad since theyve reopened after COVID. Only a few people because of lobby limits, waited 15-20 minutes. There was also a screener before the elevator helping to ensure that you had all of the right documents before entering.

Gov agency. You should expect the very worst and you might have a worthwhile experience. I had to call bc the website wasn’t working. When I called they only said “hello” like I was calling my aunt to see if she wants to come over for a pot roast this sunday. No professionalism— they are short with you without much explanation or willingness to help. And they have dum policies.But what are you going to do? Go to the competition? Jokes on we the people

Went in to change my last name after getting married. Security officers at the front were very friendly and the guy that helped me out with the name change was really sweet and quick too. Everyone i came across was nice.After you get through the initial line to get up to the waiting room, you get a ticket and get called up pretty quickly (it was within like a minute for meand in and out pretty fast. From start to finish it took me 25 minutes. Just be sure to call the SSA office ahead of time to make sure you bring all the documents you need.

Went close to closing time & quickly got through security. Went to the second floor & didnt have to wait more than a few minutes. Aaron was very helpful & greeted me with a smile.Also, their security officer was helpful, directed me to where I needed to go & supplied me with an envelope.I was in & out in less than 10 minutes.

They forget public pays their salaries!I submitted forms for childrens social security cards, they lost them,or didnt get them done in time, not sure! After I called them & asked why it was taking so long & told it would be taken care of. Waited two more weeks, called again, was told, sorry, youll have to resubmit everything, application, I. D. Proof of identity etc.. when I asked where was the documents that I already submitted to them that were not returned to me, they couldnt tell me. All they could say was sorry, youll have to resubmit everything.If I did not finish a job Id get severe discipline where I work. Its wrong. Funny I submitted forms for 3 children. They did one..how did they do one, and not the other two? What happened to the other two?

Just because I have to choose at least one but I would definitely give negative stars! I went in 2 months a go for a duplicate and new one with my married name. I called in to see why I hadnt received anything in the mail and after speaking to a gentleman who said they dont know where my paper work is and that I can just go back in AGAIN! He just stayed quiet on the phone and wouldnt say anything he "was looking" then hangs up on me. Extremely unprofessional

This office is still closed due to COVID restrictions. Dont waste your time driving there and parking. They are ,however, pretty quick to answer if you call. Wait times on the phone are a fraction of the time you have to wait when you call the main number. Every person I have worked with at this office has gone above and beyond to assist with any problem.

Lady yelled at me for trying to ask the guard a question. Gave me a lecture on how they don’t work for ssc, they are “just” guards. Okay, so then I try asking HER the simplest question, and she didn’t even know. She said, “they should’ve told you” Ummm I thought I wasn’t supposed to talk to them because they are just guards? Why are you fighting me instead of just telling me? I don’t need a lecture on who I can and can’t talk to; I literally just wanted to know what documents to send in.How do you work for the social security and not even know these things? I’m embarrassed for her for wanting a power trip on lecturing instead of helping and doing her job.

Website says not to mail original documents & that they cannot accept photocopies or notarized copies. I tried to call to ask what they want from me then but the phone system hangs up on me after about 10 minutes every time I try.

I wouldnt even give this place a half star. The girl that was suppose to help us was not helpful. Each question asked she said "I dont know how to do that". The guard was just as rude and unhelpful. Somebody needs to get this place in line with public service. A rating as it stands is too high. So I wanted to post my comment and not a photo - it is forcing to click on a star as a rating. The 1 star rating is false - read my first sentence.

Trying to get a appointment is a 22 minute waste of time as they literally said “we are experiencing a high volume of calls at this time, try again later.” Hung up on. The Social security facility is only expecting appointments on Tuesday & Thursday. 9-3. Officials told me you won’t talk to a person. Your documents will be photographed and returned. Officer actually said I could mail my s.s., driver’s license, passport, marriage license in the mail to the SS office “for convenience “ WHAT!!! So your only open 2 days a week and you expect me schedule a appointment yet your phone system makes you wait on the said call number only for the SS hangs up on you. Unfortunately I want it to make sense to me. “Tell me the govermemt doesn’t care about you….!!!

I have been trying to schedule an appointment with them for several months now. When calling they hang up on you. When I finally got to talk to someone they said they couldnt schedule an appointment and took my number to call me back. It has been 2 months and still no one got back. Its ridiculous. Seriously, there must be a way to report this office somehow.

I have had very good experiences with this office. One thing that you have to know is that an appointment should be made in advance to avoid a long wait. Ive been to the office in person and called and they have always been very helpful. The only thing that would be better is if there were more employees so that they can be able to help people in a timely manner.

Forget about any sort of help whatsoever. You are denied walk in or appointments and told to call the national number instead.I called three separate times days apart and at different times. Every time I waited almost three hours and then they just hung up on me.Ridiculous.

Im a social service coordinator and represent seniors in my apartment complex and its annoying that when you ring them the phone goes dead. The service is not professional. Its very frustrating to wait a long time and to receive no service. There has to be an accountability of the social security system to provide a good service for the citizens of America.

I sent in my documents for a name change almost 2 months ago and havent gotten them back yet! Calling is pointless, on hold for a while and then right as it starts ringing it gets disconnected like they hung up because they dont want to talk to people! I cant go in person because of covid. I sent in my documents Sept 17 and havent gotten them back and it is Nov 4! So I couldnt vote because I didnt have any proof of identity! This office is literally the worst! If there is anyway you could go through another s.s. office, pick a different one!!!

I would give 0 stars. Gave me wrong info about an exam appointment and when called out on it, they didnt believe me. because they dont have authority to make appointments. My word against theirs. Called the main number and were very rude about it. Like Im lying.

Ive been struggling for 6 months, trying to get my back pay from my disability. The transition has caused many hardships & has been NEEDED! Not just wanted. From the start I received nothing but half a** information & complete laziness & incompetence. Ive been in the office 3 times & spoke to 4 people on the phone, & every one of them, DIDNT DO THEIR JOBS!!! Then the 3rd time I went into the office I found out that I was supposed to be there in person to process the issue holding it all up. Which Id already been in twice and they didnt do the interview. I also found out that 3 of the people started the process but only did a fraction of what needed to be finished to complete it, so it was incomplete for months! I wish I could say that their staff is great...& yes their personalities were great & they were nice...but its hard to ignore the fact that 5 people over a 6 month period were clueless or didnt care enough to do the right thing & HELP ME!. Its been another month since my last visit and still nothing.

The Place is nearly packed. They have 14 stalls to help people. There are 3 workers there with open windows. I was there for someone else. I do not look forward to when I am older and actually have to deal with them for my own benefits. Inconsistency seems to be the theme when you try to get things done through Social Security. The people sometimes have the right answer but often tell you different things

It seems that too often government employees get a bad "rap". This office had a new Medicare card sent to me promptly, when I had issues with the websites. (They helped me another time, too. Kudos to all of the staff!

This bad review is for the security guard at the main entrance. Ive encountered this same guy before and he is always rude and condescending. He talks to you like youre a criminal and makes you feel afraid on purpose even though you comply in everything. He even raises his voice and towers over you. I let it go the first time because I came to translate for my mother since she doesnt speak English very well and I didnt want her to feel uncomfortable but he did it again today. I dont know his name but he is caucasian and bulky. Be careful with him, seems like he is looking for someone to tackle. Wish I would have gotten his name to call in a complaint. Very disappointed in the way my mother and I were treated.

There are 3 issues i have1: why do you close at 12 pm on Wednesday, dont get me wrong i understand that you close when you close but that seems so out of the ordinary for a place that typically closes around 3 to 4pm2: some of the security gaurds are downright childish. I was out of the doorway when my phone started to vibrate because i had a call. I answered amd told them i cant talk im at the ssi office and i know that gaurd heard me because he was watching me and then interupted me with "Sir you cant be on your phone in here" in which i replied "Sorry im telling them not to call me right now" and he just kept going till i finally said "yes little one. Would you also like a coloring book and some crayons to color with?"3: the staff are helpful dont get me wrong but oh boy can they contradict themselves. For example i was told i wasnt allowed to be my own payee when i was 18 im 21 and now they keep telling me im allowed to be my own payee. Maybe its me but wth that is only a 3 year difference. And i was told this by the same person.

Extremely disappointed with the service my husband received from this place. Currently waiting to call and speak to someone. As an active duty USAF member, I’m deployed right now and that means my husband is having to sort out his immigrations by himself. He only came in to get his social security card taken care of and he was treated very poorly and made to feel uncomfortable here. He is English so there is absolutely no language barrier between and no need for the impoliteness. He then being told he “can leave now” as if he was doing something wrong because he was not in the system yet; being forced to call our lawyer to get the slightest bit of respect from this lady that helped him.

Rudest staff ever! I watched a lady get harrassed by security that had prior knee replacements before even getting up to social.security then waited 3 hours to speak to jenn who was very rude and condescending and listed all the info I needed to bring back that was also incorrect, returned with the paperwork that I didnt need to be harrassed by some lady I think her name was Lawanda or shouldve been😉 who literally sat and quizzed me on where I keep my kids birth certificates....irrelevant and I believe confidential super unprofessional that atmosphere also feels worse than a courtroom. Definitely they all need a power check there and replacement staff with some proper training in customer service!

I called in advance to schedule an appointment which turned out to be a very smart move on my part. I arrived about ten minutes early and there I waited in the holding area until someones name was called to a window which provided me and my wife a place to sit. We watched the time and to our surprise were called to a window just a couple minutes before our scheduled appointment. We were helped by friendly and knowledgeable staff and our business was completed in less than fifteen minutes. It paid off to have made an appointment and follow the directions given to bring proper documents. These people have a difficult job to do and cant help much at all if you dont follow the directions. Call ahead and schedule an appointment, bring the documents needed and have a five star experience !!!!!!!!!

I was on the phone today for about 20 minutes with Jen in the Ogden office. I had three claims that I needed assistance with, two of them being a pain. She was so helpful and kind on the phone & went above and beyond to help me. I call Social Security offices all over Utah for my job and she is by far the best representative Ive worked with. Thank you for being stellar at your job!

Anyone with low reviews on here is clearly not doing their part to make things easier for themselves. They do their job and thats what counts. If you read your instructions online you shouldnt have any problems.The parking is scarce, thats because its right in the middle of downtown Ogden, first come first serve for all the spaces available because the courthouse is right next door and there are so many other businesses close by. Not to mention the amphitheatre and jailhouse.The wait is a lot like a DMV so thats relatively acceptable considering the information exchanged here is so sensitive.I had no issues.

Great service and knowledgeable agent. Went there for the 1st time to submit for Medicare part-B. Marchelle did an outstanding job of explaining the process. She was very timely and we were done in less than 15 minutes. I seen several comments about this agency that were not so good...If you are prepared with all the required documents BEFORE you come in, MAKE an appointment then the visit will go a lot faster and smoother. I really appreciated her knowledge of the Social security process. THANK YOU Ogden Social security Office.

I went to the SSA on 3-30 and I was pleasantly surprised by their service. I took me about 15 minutes. It seemed they were renovating so next time when I go down there I hope would look better. They have a new rule that if you dont have an ID you cant go up so make sure you bring a passport or some sort of a valid ID if you dont have driving license

If there were a no stars option I would choose that. TRASH place, LAZY staff and overall horrible experience. I’ve been here for two and a half hours and still haven’t been called and it isn’t that busy! This lady has been taking to the same staff member for over an HOUR. He left her sitting waiting for him to come back for over 45 mins.On a better note after my number was called a very sweet employee helped me in less than 10 mins! Five stars for her and only her.

Cant go down without an appointment, cant make an appointment because you cant get through the phone system. No waiting options, no callback options, just all operators are busy call back again (snicker). Ok. I actually got through and the rep I talked to was very helpful and patient. So 1 star for the system, 5 stars for the rep. 3 🌟 average.

Nicest government workers/office I have ever been in. They were very accommodating and patient with me. Such helpful and kind people- I cannot help but give them 5 stars.I had to come back 3 times to actually get everything right, but getting it right was MY responsibility and my own problem. 😂 These people who have reviewed this institution poorly based on their inability to be prepared and bring everything to the table as just silly to me. Rules and regulations are in place for us all to follow... get it together people. Heaven knows it took me THREE times till I got it right, but it wasnt their fault.

the first 5-6 years of my sons life were hard. It took over 2 years to get the assistance, now my son is improving his skills at school, He is now out of the special ed class room. We are thankful to Ogden Social Security. We did have to prove our case was a long-term disability!

Wasted 1 hour waiting just to find out I needed a certified transcript from my sons school. The application just says a "school record maintained by the school". Maybe the application sheet needs to be updated and made more clear that printing a transcript from the maintained school district web site is not good enough! You must get a certified transcript directly from the school as evidence of identity! The lady at the counter was very rude in pointing this out! Stating you have the same problem as the last person!! Hum, maybe the problem is with your instructions!
