Star Diner III in Wood County

My order got messed up at first

Food wasnt up to par compared to other Star Diners I have visited, service was poor, they wanted to charge me 4.50 to substitute a fruit cup for toast. Portions have gotten smaller and food quality was down from what Im used to at the other Star Diners. Waitresses werent as clean cut or friendly as the other Star Diners Ive frequented.

It just isnt the same anymore. The menu is smaller. The portions are smaller. Everything is smaller. Waitress was really friendly and a good server. Could check on coffee fill ups a little better.

The breakfast was great and the service was good. Under normal circumstances Id say the breakfast was a bit expensive but not so bad with current prices everywhere. Will definately return.

Our waitress was very pleasant, the restaurant was clean, and the portions were HUGE. I wish I lived closer so we could visit again.

Day: Saturday Time: 1pmI had never eaten here before but it was close to a place I needed to go in Oregon, so I figured Id give it a try. I wasnt very hungry so I ordered just an English muffin breakfast sandwich. I requested the addition of spinach, and was delighted when the waitress (Tinacame back to ask if I preferred just out-of-the-bag baby spinach or if Id like it cooked a bit. That was service point #1 -- So far as our meals, my sister got an omelet w/ toast, home fries etc and the portions were very generous. She said it was all very tasty. My breakfast sandwich was good, with thick bacon and that lovely cooked spinach. Tina kept my coffee refilled and was very friendly.Heres the best service point: I hadnt realized but an expensive personal item had fallen out of my pocket and was laying under the table. Tina discreetly pointed it out and asked if it was mine. I was so thankful, because while it was a very unique item and Id have been able to call later and go back and get it, it would have been over 30 minute drive each way, so I was super appreciative that she called my attention to the item.Star diner serves breakfast all day. Sign on door as of this review date 1-15-22 notes they are closed on Monday. Generous portions and top notch service mean that I will for sure be back! THANKS TINA!!

Good breakfast place, neat, organized, good staff. Try the Greek omelet its tasty. You will always leave very full.

Showed up on a Sunday, around 11:30 AM, and there was a sign in the door saying theyre closed for the week "because people dont want to work." Used to be when I had folks in town visiting, Id bring them to Star Diner. Not anymore.

Food was great, but the staff was fantastic! We didnt have to ask for anything, they were on it!!!

Food came out fast and hot. The portions were big and the food was delicious! I really enjoyed our visit.

Its an OK place. Nice and quiet little place. The atmosphere is great and the service is great. The food was ok. We will most likely come back.

Service was terrible, they put my fruit bowl under a heat lamp fro 5 minutes before the waitress got around to stop talking to the hostess and bring it to my table, food was mediocre.. and the bad thing, it wasnt that busy...

Good quality place with fast and friendly service. Great spot for a good, "blue collar" breakfast after your night shift. Bacon is thick with amazing flavor. Be sure to get the home fries with cheese and onions!

The food was good. The service was lack luster. The servers were nice but not very attentive.One thing that caught us off guard was that its a "Hooters" style diner. Seems a bit weird and we were a little uncomfortable.Even though the food was good, we wouldnt go back. Were not religious or anything, we just do think its necessary to have women dress skimpy to serve breakfast food, and none of the men had provocative clothing, so thats a bit one sided. At least dress the men up too.

Star diner was the best breakfast place out there, I had a enjoyable nice time there. the service was great, anytime we needed something they were there. The food was great, I really recommend it.

Star Diner is a nice quiet diner. Went to the in Oregon right off the expressway. Open from like 6a-2p or something like that. We came in and sat ourselves. Wasnt busy at all. Was greeted and attended to immediately. Ordered and was eating in 10mins. Food was great. "Eggs and legs" my husband called the cute, sweet little waitresses with short skirts on lolol. Mainly single guys eating alone in there it seemed. Its good enough and large enough to seat full families. You get large portions for the price you pay. I liked Star better that Bob Evanss breakfast especially since they are under new management and Much better than Dennys because they treated us with respect. They have slamming grits w/cheese that almost beat out Hollywood Casino. Try them out if you want a nice quiet, clean place to eat for breakfast/ brunch. Remember "Eggs and Legs"

This is my all time favorite weekend breakfast destination. Friendly, quick service and good food.October 2019 updated review: The food and staff are still awesome but I removed a star because they just changed the rewards card program to require $200 in purchases before earning a gift card. Thats double the money compared to the old plan.

The service was fast and friendly and the food was good. Ive only been here a few times but I have never had a bad experience.

The food is really good but the waitresses atitudes could be better. They have their favorites to wait on and I get that, but dont be so dismissive to the non regulars if they have a question or concern. Not eating there again.

My oatmeal was really good. My husband had granola pancakes and thoroughly enjoyed them. We will be returning in the future again. Service was excellent.

Food was good. We waited a little long for a waitress I thought. Small space, 5or6 girls?? Had Ice tea. Tasted like it was made in the coffee pot. I dont drink coffee or I would have ordered that. Nasty tea

Very good breakfast for very reasonable prices. Their homestyle fried potatoes are the best. Not greasy like all other places I have tried and good flavoring. Reminds me of my grannys fried potatoes. Saw waitress wiping down chairs and walls and I like clean places like that. Cleanliness is so important to me in restaurants. The only thing I would change about this place is put sign in front saying entrance in back. Everyone that does not know tries to enter in front. Parking lot is in back. Or put bigger better sign in back. I would definitely suggest this place for breakfast or lunch.

Excellent waitress, the omelet was very good. It was big and fat. They didnt rush you out and was great with coffee refills. The place was very cozy. Will be back!

Just went to Oregon location as always and blown away by the service there again by Megan B. Shes very prompt and courteous with her pleasant smile and attitude. This location maybe a smaller one but whole crew from kitchen staff and servers out front do an outstanding job. Most times I pass many other places to stop here. KUDOS TIL all

This is one of my frequented venues. I love the seasoned, skin on home fries that accompany most of the breakfast choices. My favorites include the star special for breakfast, the cheesy hash browns, and the bowl of oatmeal. I absolutely love the wonderful, friendly service as well.If it is your first visit or they know you by name, your meal will come exactly as ordered and in the occasional mishap it is corrected with a smile and often compensated. I recommend being prepared to become a regular after your first visit! Deliciousness is contagious!

Great food with super size portions at a very affordable price. This restaurant is a must do if you like delicious food and have a big appetite. I GUARANTEE you wont leave hungry and you wont break the bank either! Star Diner cannot be beat for quality, price and the staff are attentive, efficient and friendly.

Star Diner is a trip back to 1965. Breakfast anytime of day. Great waffles with bacon & eggs. Banana pecan cream cheese crepes were worth the trip to Oregon, Ohio.Did I mention BACON? Coffee was great.Very reasonably priced.

First time here and not familiar with restaurants on this side of town. we debated going to the local Bob Evans but decided to give this place a try for breakfast. Breakfast items came out pretty quick and tasted pretty good. Prices are reasonable. Service started out good but ended not too good since we never got refills on our coffee so only giving them 4 stars. Word of mouth said this diner has awesome waitresses but we felt the service was just average and our waitress seemed to be half asleep at the wheel. Not knocking the restaurant for this but it seems to get a lot of locals huddled together and they like to give strange stares to outsiders coming in to eat. We also noticed thier tables got most of the waitresses attention for refills where we got none and had to flag ours down for the ckeck

Food was decent, diner quality food, but received pretty bad service. Heard the waitress asking a coworker why we drank so much and needed refills (had 2 lemonades during my visit and my company each also had 1 refill). Heard this place referred to as "eggs and legs", and after seeing the uniforms I see why. In todays climate surprised they can get away with these short of skirts.

Food was very good as always. The servers work well as a team providing a friendly atmosphere with prompt service. Love going there glad to be back in Toledo for work

Food was the bomb! Had a grilled chicken salad with strawberries and oranges omg was the best. You can tell the cook really loves their job.

let me put this place into three words, LEGS AND EGGS! I enjoy it very much honestly and i know that im not the only one! Try to get there early or you are going to have to wait at most about 25 minutes. GREAT FOOD/PORTION sizes, amazing people/service, AND Great food. Its a popular place to eat so i very much do recommend!

I came in by myself to grab a late breakfast. Connie was my server, I only found out her name by the check at the end. When she came to "greet" me, she slammed the menu down asked "what do you want to drink, are you ready to order?" I got coffee. I had to ask another server for a refill, another server brought me my food. Connie didnt even come check to see if it had come out ok. I put my debit card on table to show her I was done, she grabbed my card, ran it, put it and the slip on the table and walked away. With all the different places to eat in this city, customer service should be a priority. They werent even busy. Will not be coming back.

we went to eat at this location today for the first time on 5.21.2016 and saw 1 huge cockroaches in the waiting room area. Was going to take a picture and show it to the manager but it ran away. i asked for a manager and she was not working today so we left and were disgusted.

Food was good..lazy...lazy wait staff....there was a older gentlemen that had to get up and get his own coffee. I felt like givina him my tip. Horrible service
