All the food was delicious!! All the food on the salad bar was very fresh and the fried fish was well seasoned and flaky. Our server Oscar went above and beyond. Drinks were always full and dirty plates were cleared off as soon as we set them aside!!
Our receipt says Bernice. Our server was excellent. I cant complain about the price of the buffet. The selection was nice for Starving Marvin s being in Branson. The sweet tea was a pleasant surprise, the best we had in the area. I kept 1 star because of the beans they hadnt thicken they seemed to be in water,no color from the beans. Louisianans love beans
Food was continuously refilled, hot, and delicious. Buffet styled meal and reasonable priced. Fast and friendly service.
Worst experience ever. Was looking forward to eating hear because they advertised Cajun food. They food was mediocre at best. The fish was so rubbery you couldnt even cut it with a fork, the mashed potatoes looked like they had been sitting forever and they had a film across it. The gumbo was a joke. They salad bar is non existent, they have some lettuce, cheese , mushrooms and onions that have sat too long, a sorry excuse for salad. We barely ate $5.00 worth of food and it cost us $62.03 for sub par food. We could have gone to red lobster for all you can eat shrimp for less money. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The waitress could have cared less about our dissatisfaction. Definitely sorry excuse for Cajun food.
The prices is right especially for a breakfast buffet. Food is decent some better than others. The server was top notch. Would definitely recommend looking into more Louisiana products if you wish to appear as cajun. Such as Down Home Sausage Co. The French toast was great.
I went with my husband and 5 year old daughter after playing mini golf and we loved the selection but especially oddly the chicken strips were amazing. All three of us agreed it was flavorful and perfect crunch. There was food like fish, crawfish, salad, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, frog legs, shrimp Alfredo, green beans with bacon, rolls and the list goes on. Staff was really nice and checked in on us refilling drinks and taking plates quickly. They do have a menu you can order from if you dont want the buffet. Highly suggest trying it out. I dont understand some of the negative reviews maybe just trying to get something for nothing. It is like $25 and one buffet line of food double sided but the food is better quality and things you would want to order and not just cheap kiddie food.
TLDR: go here, but order from the menu not buffetThe buffet price was not posted anywhere I saw. I had heard the stories of others shock upon receiving the bill, so inquired before ordering. Indeed, $25 a person (plus drink and gratuity). Walking by, it didnt look like it lived up to all that so we got items off the menu. Huge portion of the main, two sides, and a roll for about $18 a plate. Delicious. And service was extremely fast
We had the $24.95 Seafood Buffet. It was awful. Many dishes that were advertised as on the buffet, the staff said that they havent had for months. Never in my life before have I eaten Cajun food that was bland. No seasonings whatsoever! Some of the food was obviously reheated more times than it should have been. The catfish was the best frozen breaded and deep fried catfish that I have had in years.
I am absolutely amazed with the service that we got. Our waitress, Nancy, was fabulous! She made sure that our drinks were never empty and that we had everything we needed. Before we left, she got us some to-go cups and told us about some amazing spots to check out while we are out on our trip. The overall experience was great. Everyone was so kind, the food from the menu was delicious, and the environment was very clean. I will definitely come back when we visit again.
All food is amazing. We love eating here
Oscar was great. One of the best buffet’s around. Would recommend to anyone who is wanting variety and amazing portions.
We got seated quickly. Our waitress was very nice, and let us know ahead of time that there was a new cook so it might be slow to get our meals. My husband ordered the crayfish po boy and I got open face pot roast. We split a basket of fries. Our food did come out pretty quick. The fries were hot, the rest of our food was warm. They do have a buffet if you like seafood.
Hard to rate the service, when we really received none. The buffet food selection was very poor. It tastes okay but hot dishes were hardly even room temperature. Not sure how they could legally be served. Too many great places to eat in Branson to waste your time and money here
Absolutely horrible food. We tried a variety from their buffet. Their fried shrimp is precooked then battered and fried which makes the shrimp hard. Even the peel and eat shrimp were over cooked. Cajun spaghetti was noodles with a few vegetables. Most food on the buffet was cold. If you wanted it hot better grab it as they bring it from the kitchen. We came here for our anniversary dinner and what a waste. Seafood Alfredo was dry and sauce less. Their desserts consisted of apple and cherry cobbler. Wasnt even warm.Update: this is to their response in which I cant reply to...yes I asked for a manager but whenever your waitress I guess doesnt understand simple English then Im sorry. Also I asked whenever we were paying. The lady at the register went from nice to a total crab instantly.
Our server Nancy was great! Very in the ball. Food was delicious. Kids loved the mashed potatoes and French fries. Seafood buffet was kept full and fresh. We will be back
Really enjoyed our meal here. Saturday eve so there was a bit of a wait but the food was worth it. Nice variety. A lot of folks were eating from the buffet. Were not that big of eaters so we ordered off the menu. Will go back to try some other items
The staff was personable and did a great job of checking in and making sure our glasses stayed filled. The food however was mediocre. Crab legs and mud bugs were cooked to death which was one of our main reasons for going, so that was a bit of a bummer. Fried shrimp and fish were very good. Salad bar section looked pretty good and everything looked fresh. Glad to have the experience, but will definitely look at many of the other options Branson has to offer.
The service was fine, the food was alright, but the price didn’t even make sense. Our bill was over $60 for two people. We got the buffet and beware, it is NOT worth the price. The salad bar is mediocre at best and the options are fairly basic. Nothing really stood out. The shrimp was pretty good, but not $30 per person good. At most, I ate maybe $5 worth of food. My husband can eat quite a bit, but still didn’t eat $30 or even $20 worth of food. He ate two plates of cheap food. I can’t believe the pride they take in that food they put out on the buffet. I would not recommend to anyone honestly. It’s way overpriced. There needs to be a one trip or salad bar and one trip option for a lower price. I will say we didn’t ask the price before ordering the buffet, but it looked pretty cheap, so we assumed it’d at least be reasonably priced. They charge high quality prices for mashed potatoes that have sat under a warmer way too long. Completely ridiculous and frustrates me to think we entertained this place and their robbery.
Our waitress Nancy was the best!! We had a large group, a glass of water spilled, we were indecisive and she was extremely helpful! She knew the entire buffet menu for both lunch and dinner to help us decide. She was friendly and funny! The. Food was absolutely wonderful!
Oh my lord. Most of the food was really good. Some of it was bland and had no flavor. The Cobbler was amazing. I swear it’s like they put something in your food to make you sleepy. Hadn’t even gotten the bill yet and was nearly dozing off at the table. Really good buffet though. Highly recommend if you’ve never been here before.
It was my first time eating frogs legs, they were interestingly delicious. Crawdads & Shrimp were good too! Would definitely recommend this place for any occasion.
Our waiter was so nice! The food was really good. They have a buffet that looked delicious but we chose to order from the menu to share a meal. And it was plenty to share. We ordered the shrimp tacos with fries and dirty rice. Very cute restaurant! We plan to go again before we leave Branson.
We ate at Starvin Marvin’s on July 25th. What a wonderful experience. The breakfast buffet was well stocked, everything was fresh, our server, Thomas was awesome, we will definitely be back for the seafood buffet one night. If you are looking for a great place to eat, and your like us, never been to Starvin Marvin’s, stop in, you won’t be dissatisfied.
We had the lunch buffet and it was very good with a good variety. The fried catfish is a must try! I will def be back when we visit Branson again.
Buffet was not good at all. It was small and not much to choose from. The best part was the drink, and you know its just a fountain drink. The rest was just edible. The worst part was the bill. For four people it was $124. That is grossly overpriced for the quality of food. I mean seriously I could get better at Dennys. Their HVAC wasnt working. It was really stuffy in there while it was 100 degrees outside. The waitress was rude. For the same price you can go to Paula Deans on the landing and get home style that is absolutely delicious.
First- sweet tea has sugar, they claimed my tea was sweet tea it was not, brought me a new glass said it was sweet tea it was not and they even tried it said it was, I dont think they have ever had sweet tea before. Second- WAY OVER PRICED $62 for 2 buffet and 2 drinks no really, fish was good, fried shrimp was good, mashed potatoes ok, IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO ONION DO NOT STOP HERE TO EAT. Third- they do not take gift cards of any kind so you will pay for the overpriced OK food. My wife agrees with me.
Stacy was great and so accommodating. We showed up almost an hour early to the seafood buffet and she kept our table for us until the seafood was set out. She was also extremely patient with both of our boys (3 & 5). The shrimp and crawfish were delicious and never ran out!
This is my favorite breakfast buffet in Branson. Biscuits and gravy made the old fashion way and everything you can think of down to the fresh fruit. The friendliest staff around!
Buffet was delicious, for a small buffet they have alot of choice and fresh food was brought out constantly, the baked catfish was the best weve ever eaten.. I will say for the price they do need to have more SEAFOOD on the buffet but what they do have is fresh and delicious!!!Our server Oscar was great, very friendly and attentive... he looked to be the only server and he was running around making sure everyone was taken care of, he needs a raise :)We will eat here again 😋
We went on a busy Saturday at dinner time and were seated with no wait time. The buffet was hot and constantly being restocked the entire time. Tons of different seafood choices on the buffet. Our waiter was courteous and attentive. No complaints at all!
The buffet was amazing….the peel & eat shrimp was my favorite and all the food was well cooked!!! Our server Oscar was amazing!!!
This is a great place to eat with a family friendly atmosphere. They sever a buffet or you can order directly from the menu. The waitress we usually have is wonderful and goes above and beyond to make us comfortable and see to our every need. Great place to eat!
This place is a sham. Paid $90 with tip for 2 adults and one child. The food was bland. The pasta and rice dishes were literally mush. It was terrible. This place used to be great in the 90s, but theyve done nothing but go downhill. I would absolutely recommend you go just about anywhere else. I would have rather paid $90 for McDonalds than their poor excuse for cuisine.
Excellent buffet options throughout the day. Very affordable. Easy in and out. Could sometimes be a wait, but that is expected in this area.
For the price, its worth it. Kids enjoyed both the buffet and the kids menu, selection for all. The crab legs were to die for.Our waiter was super nice, and gave the ultimate expectations for other restaurants. He never let our drinks go empty, kept the plates off the table and interacted with the kids too.Was recommended by family and definitely recommend this to anyone else!
Just trying something new. Crawfish and I do not work out very good. The buffet was very nice seeing people wiping and cleaning on it. Sanitizing tables when they wipe them off all in all good place to eat. Our server was excellent too.
The shrimp was good. But everything was just average. And somethings were a little too pricey. The wait staff was on top of things and were awesome. The salad bar was okay, but couldve been better.
Highly unsatisfied and did not enjoy the meal. I only had one plate and I just left it filled. This place was absolutely not worth the price and the food was disgusting. The noodle were over cooked and every item on my plate I tried was very bland. The gravy for the potatoes tasted gross and the bread was also very plain. The bread tasted almost like nothing. Paid for a buffet and all I got was one row of regular food and another row only for salads. The man got our drinks but didn’t not even care to reach out further for customer excellence. Best thing I had at the place was just the water.
Arrived right at opening of lunch buffet. Everything was fresh, fully stocked and appetizing. It was better price for us to eat buffet than anything in the menu. Everyone in our family enjoyed this place and left satisfied. The Cajun style food on the buffet was great ( weve never had Cajun beforebut we also enjoyed the salad bar!
We ate here this weekend for Mothers Day. We all 5 ordered the buffet. The food was amazing. Buuut the reason I give it 3 stars is I wish they had made it evident on the buffet price. If I had known how much it had cost I would not have ate there. It is waaaay too expensive. I get it its branson and hard times but still way too expensive. Yes its partly my fault for not asking ahead of time but again it was not evident on the price. I figured it was like Lamberts in pricing but no it wasnt. The server was sweet and kind and I feel bad that due to the outrageous price we could only give our waitress 4 bucks for tip. We left broke afterwards. Wont be back unfortunately. Saddens us because food was wonderful. $129 bill for 5 people. Cant believe it.
The burger was huge and juicy. And they were willing to let me swap my fries for okra. Hubby had the buffet it was pretty good also. I felt it was a bit pricey, but it is in the middle of tourist area
Good food and a good variety of foods to choose from. The waitress was excellent! We were a group of 16 and a number of us did not eat off the buffet, so she actually took really good care of us. My only complaint is that even if you dont eat off the buffet, and order off the menu, they still dont want you to take home your leftovers! Crazy! Over all really good!
Good food , lots of shrimp ,fried catfish, baked fish ,crawfish and fixings on buffet. 🦀 legs are up $charge$ for buffet. Great staff!
Fantastic! I was traveling with some buddies, and we were scouting out someplace to have breakfast. They sent me in to evaluate the place. I came back and told them it was outstanding. This is a buffet restaurant, all you can eat. The bacon was perfect, just the way I like it--completely brown without being burnt. The grits had a layer of melted butter floating on top. The hash browns were done to perfection with the ideal ratio of little golden flecks within. Unlike many breakfast buffets where the French toast in the layout dries out here it was perfect! There was a warm cheese sauce that appeared to have bacon bits in it which I could tell just by looking at it that it must be wonderful, but everything I lad on my two plates looked so good the way they were that I didnt sample it. The coffee was just the way I like it, and they serve half&half to cream it with...always appreciated. All three of us guys fell in love with our waitress.
From out of State and we wanted to try this place. The whole place smelled of seafood but that’s to be expected. Waiter was nice, he did try to push the buffet several times though. Which none of us wanted. My husband ordered a rare sirloin steak. It was well done and a flat iron steak. My son got the crawfish boil, the crawfish had no seasoning at all. It was very bland and not good at all. He didn’t even eat half of them. I got the crab legs, horrible!!! They were cold & rubbery!!! Our sons gf got chicken fingers and they were way over cooked and hard as rocks. We won’t be going back next time we visit Branson. I gave it 2 stars because our waiter.
Very good food. Fish was amazing. And loved the waitress!. We had the smorgasbord! Yum. Place was great! For sure a 2nd stop.
My first time visiting Starvin Marvins and I truly enjoyed the lunch buffet. It was all homestyle cooked items and was excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and was there to help in any way. I will have to make a return trip to try the breakfast buffet. I believe their dinner buffet is seafood themed. They also substantial amount of items to order from the menu as well.
We were originally planning to visit later, but it interfered with my Taekwondo class and we have leftovers that need to be eaten. For the lunch buffet, it was better than I thought and the fresh food that constantly was available made it easier to fill your plate on each trip. Next time we will have to visit during dinner in order to take advantage of the vast amount of seafood I was informed about from friends that recently visited this location. The burger pictured below was demolished by my son that surprisingly chose it over the burger. His eyes almost overloaded his stomach, but he managed to eat every bit. The staff (ladiesmembers are friendly as soon as you walk in and make you feel right at home.
The shrimp.platter we all ordered was freshly prepared. The lettuce salad was crisp and tomatoes plump. My party of three were all satisfied with the food & our server.Dykeba Rogers07202021
Completely floored at the cleanliness of this restaurant. They are following all current Covid guidelines. Breakfast buffet is immaculate. Employees were refilling the buffet consistently. Pancakes, French Toast, Biscuits & Gravy, Grits, Bacon, 2 kinds of Sausage, Eggs, huge fruit selection, and so much more. We paid $8.99 and felt like they needed to roll us out. Our waitress, Sandy, was flawless and super friendly. She kept our drinks filled and our used plates cleared. Highly recommend!
