Called about reservations. When I grew up camping was all about spending family time outdoors and getting back to nature. Pretty sad and disappointing that this campground doesnt welcome families since children arent allowed Lots of campgrounds out there spend your money where the business share similar values
BE CAREFUL!!!
Drove by the campground on Sunday 3-27-22. Its out there, but seems to be a nice little campground. it has Full hook ups. We are looking forward to camping there this Spring if a site is available. Take Care Everyone
We stayed with Jim and Kathy at the RV Park for about ten months. Beautiful small campground, well maintained, reasonably priced, quiet, friendly. Wi-Fi was good, but we stream a lot, so we opted for the fiber thru Wilkes Communication that’s available at the sites for individuals to arrange on their own. Creek is beautiful, we were there for some heavy rains, it got high but didn’t flood. Laundry room is nice, tho we didn’t use it as we have our own in unit. Will be back if the spots there for us and we are in the area again. Stayed in a 42’ 5th wheel, my wife’s a travel nurse who worked in Boone about 35 min drive. Our son, 2, loved the big spaces and the creek, sidewalk chalk by the bathhouse, and running around in the field.
Awesomeness
Nice, peaceful campground! We needed a last minute reservation and the owners gave us their personal site! Plenty of room between sites and loved listening to the stream while sitting around the campfire!
We stayed at Stoney Fork for 8 months. The area is beautiful and loved the stream that runs behind the park. Very relaxing and enjoyable. So peaceful and Kathy and Jim always treated us like family. Thank you for a wonderful stay and God Bless you both.
I waited to write this review until I was sure it was not written in anger. Everything can be verified with emails, pictures or witness confirmation by other residents. During my time there I saw a dozen long termers come and go. NONE of them left happy. Each had their own list of complaints and problems, but all have a consistent theme of greed and pettiness. My list is too long to put in a review but here are some highlights. If a conversation isnt in writing or email, according to the owners, it didnt happen. Multiple times Ive had the husband owner smile and agree to something in person, only to get a stern email from wife owner later overriding the conversation with the husband.Lease dates were changed, along with terms of lease so as to benefit the owners without letting the resident know anything was changed. Make sure to read the lease very carefully and get any questions or changes in writing. The lease stated that all pets must be on a leash, yet owners allowed one resident with health issues to move in with outdoor cats. This was in spite of the lease terms as well as complaints from multiple residents. One of the cats used the folds of my windskirt as its litterbox, which I found when I moved.Towards the end, the owners went on what can only be described as a harrassment campaign, sending multiple emails and warnings for trivial things, sometimes several per week, and attempting to add extra charges in whenever they felt they could get away with it.Rental rates vary from resident to resident, depending on how much they think they can squeeze from each person. They seem to be able to compose themselves in the short term, but the honeymoon period quickly ends and greed takes over. I would not recommend this campground for anything more than a weekend getaway.
This place is really nice and the owners are very friendly. They dont have many spaces and most appear to be filled by long term customers. There is a very nice stream and the bathroom/showers are very clean. The hookups are in the right places and easy to use. The Wi-Fi is very good and that is important since there is NO cell phone service. It is very secluded. I hope to get back there in the spring.
Loved this RV park, and I dont usually like any of them. This one is small, only about 10 sites with a creek running along the back side, and you have tons of space between neighbors. We enjoyed a nice evening drinking wine by the creek, so peaceful.
Great place to stay... clean, quiet and friendly hosts!!
Wonderful owner, very helpful and personable. We stayed at the campground, it’s clean, quiet, beautiful and a short drive to many attractions in the area. The highlight is the stream that runs behind all of the sites. It’s great for kids to cool off or search for treasures.
Small campground nestled in the mountains. Very quiet and peaceful. Not big in amenities but huge in hospitality. We stayed for a week and enjoyed our creekside view everyday. The owners are wonderfully helpful and we would stay here again. We were amazed at the fantastic Wifi at this tiny jewel of a campground. Kudos to Jimmy (ownerfor making it happen.Do NOT trust GPS in this area! The owners will send directions when you make a reservation - use them! The local Boy Scout troop has a wagon by the Fire Department to collect aluminum cans. We saved ours all week and dropped them off on our way out.
I was a long term resident at campground for 1 year. My advice for anyone looking for long term is to visit the grounds, talk to current residents (if anydo your homework before leasing.
*****************
I never implied you were not good people & have never said otherwise nor will I go into detail of the certain conditions that the tenants were giving no choice to tolerate. I will say I think your "business" tactics are a bit wavy!!
**Case in point**
One would think instead of exaggerating your "good deeds" of tightening a clamp and offering a BAG (a BAG my dearof food you were going to throw in the trash anyway, turn it around and use it for leverage because you disagree with a review screams VOLUMES of your true self. Bash me all you want, at the end of the day it only makes yourself look bad.
A successful, Professional Business Owner knows how to take the "opinions" of others, regardless of its nature, in a professional, non-confrontational manner. What a shame thats not the case here.
Wonderful people and awesome place to stay! Clean, comfortable, excellent breakfasts, relaxing & nice view. These folks really make you feel at home. Couldnt have picked a better place to stay. This B & B will be the one that we will continue to visit through years to come. Thank you for a awesome experience.Roy & Terry
Feels just like home. The food is delish!
We had not stayed in a bed and breakfast in a long time. We were very impressed and loved the atmosphere, food and rest. This is the time we needed to rest.
Wow this place is a piece of heaven, the B&B & the campground, & the couple that run it all are amazing too!! I sooo loved everything about this place & the food is fresh & so delicious! The homemade soaps & lotions & lip balm wow so great, just awesome really!! Will definitely be back again & again! 😀💕
My husband booked the Stoney Fork B&B for a fun weekend of touring the Blue Ridge Parkway and Mount Mitchell. Jim and Cathy, the owners, were extremely kind and accommodating. We loved the beautiful house and our room, the Angler, was very comfortable and charming. Cathy is an AWESOME cook too! Her omelettes and french toast casserole were out of this world. They use eggs from their own chickens and make fresh-pressed juices. We felt like we were among friends and cant wait to stay again!
Really beautiful place.. We camped at the RV site with river behind us. There isnt a lot of Rvsbut there is good space between them, took our 4 year old grand son and he love fishing. The owners are so nice. We are planning on going back soon..It is out in the country so be prepared to enjoy peace and quiet
Great camping.. Owners [Jim & Cathy] are very nice people..
We stayed 3 - 17,18 we had a great time.the owners were GREAT.Thank You
Fulltime RVing at its best!
Really lovely cozy place in a beautiful peaceful area, like a bit of heaven! The people here are really good people very nice & hospitable w/ great service & really good breakfast, all fresh, thatll fill everyone up real good 😊
The Stoney Fork Bed & Breakfast was lovely! Out of the way, but easy to find, the B&B was situated in such a beautiful and peaceful setting. The home was charming and the room and bath accommodations exceeded our expectations. The proprietors are a friendly and delightful couple with whom we really enjoyed talking. Not only were they very accommodating with dietary restrictions, but they also included such lovely, thoughtful details such as stocking the bathroom with homemade soaps and bath salts, sending us home with a dozen fresh eggs and taking the time to walk us around the property to see the baby chicks.
Our stay here was wonderful! There is a nice creek nearby, a pleasant room, and an awesome breakfast from local meats, and chickens out back. We took a chance with our random stay, but this B&B was a hidden and we hope to visit again.
