Sturtevants of Sun Valley (Hailey) in Blaine County

Went in to rent skis for my kids. Super rude wannabes working the floor. I mean I guess I wouldnt expect more from retail monkeys. The old silent guy and the younger dork with glasses were too cool my head almost exploded. Walked out. Maybe hire some people that actually want to do the job.

This is my new favorite shop in the entire wood river valley all because of BRIAN. He is one of the most welcoming, helpful, and incredibly cool people I have ever had the good fortune of encountering. I highly recommend coming here specifically because of how great Brian is, and man, he knows bikes.

Friendly staff. A little busy

I have tried multiple times to give Sturtos in Hailey my business. It mostly ends with them not having something in stock or telling me that the local hardware store has those. Any excuse to not help me find a solution to my problem. My latest instalment came when I broke a spoke on my MTB. I arrive and walk in, employee states "we are 2 weeks out on service" almost immediately. Hey nice to see you too! Employee proceeds "ya we dont have those type of spokes", im not going to be able to do anything for you to fix that, you are out of luck". Understood with COVID it is harder to stock items. I asked is it something you could order?". He proceeds - "yes, it but it would take a few days". At this point, I had already chalked it up to another typical sturtos experience. I left and have the wheel repaired at Trailhead bikes - just around the corner that very same day. Im sure the employees are good people, but its a business and their customer service is the worst I have seen at any outdoor shop. Check out Trailhead bikes if you need bike repair.

Efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly.

This was the second time we visited to rent equipment - this time cross country skis. The staff are knowledgable and friendly - a fantastic combination you dont often find. Thanks for helping us have a great day out in the snow!

Arrived at about 5:40 pm (closing time is 6pm). A couple parties/families in front of me. An employee talked one family in to coming back the next day. I waited (you have to wait to be called downstairs). At around 6 pm, possibly a little after, another employee comes up and asks what I’m getting. I tell him skis, boots and poles. He asks another employee if I came after 530 pm. Then proceeds to tell me that they don’t help people after 530pm- which they clearly do, as evidenced by the people that they were currently helping. He tells me this while crumpling the ticket that I had already filled out. Worst possible customer service that is obviously a culture with this organization, as evidenced by the first employee talking the family in front of me out of getting equipped this evening. Apparently business is so good that this organization can have customers wait for 20 or more minutes to them tell them they don’t need their business. Thanks for wasting my time, and if you don’t do rentals after 530pm you should post it.

Jay is an awesome guy to deal with. The shop guys are really good as well. My favorite local Nordic and Bike Shop.

Wanted to charge 35 USD to match my skis to rented boots. Never heard of that before. Made a smart comment all shops would be this way as I left. I went and bought boots at Surefoot instead.

The service was amazing extremely friendly. The gentleman that were working went out of their way to try and find what we needed.

Love this locals shop! Jay and Greg and the whole crew are very helpful and knowledgeable, regardless if youre talking skiing, biking, or hiking. Worth a visit!
