Big mosque, calm and soothing place to pray but so crowded outside of the mosque with unreasonable parking fee

I went with friend by motorbike. The maps lead us through a small streets. When I reached, there are lots of people visiting this place by cars also. Most of them came in a group for a religious pilgrimage. We went inside to see Sunan Ampel grave which located besides the mosque. We pray ashar in the terrace of this mosque, because this mosque only open on Friday.

Religius place and culinary

You can ziarah, having lunch, dinner and buying some good stuff here. But you have to walk on foot inside the area of ziarah

A little disappointing. The historic "feel" has long been lost, through periodic renovation - sadly through a "policy" to erase the original Majapahit era architecture.

When im in here, it feels like im remembering these grocery store similiary in makkah. If you wanna buy souvenirs and all of arab stuffs, i rekon this place👍

One of religion place in Surabaya. Not just Sunan Ampels Tomb but there is also one of Sultan Bantens Tomb. These place was great and serve public space.

The people who visited this place can not maintain the facilities very well so it caused dirty and undity look. But the director always do the maintanance here.

There are many rest rooms for the pilgrims. Another things are you can find many foods with affordable price, such as nasi kebuli and roti maryam

Oh my this place does not sleep at night. People who are devotees comes by the truck to read Quran verses and chanting doas. Read the spread of Islam was thru sunan ampel and his followers called the 9 Wali songos. Today people from afar gave recognition of his wise preaching and delicate balancing in acceptance of Islam. it was always nice to be here again after many years missing..so many things happening here with various people from different parts of Indonesia to visit and pray for the saint Sunan Ampel is one of Walisongo group of Islamics priests..

This complex offers a diversity of Indonesian-Islamic architecture in the Walisongo era. There is one complex with a very famous Ampel mosque. there are several clothing stores and typical Arabic food around the tomb and mosque. the atmosphere in the complex is very cool and comfortable and soothes the soul.

A big-old- mosque in Surabaya, East Java. The mosque places in the middle of Arabian Settlement in centre Surabaya. We have to park the vehicle first, and walk about 100 m. While you walking on, youll across the Arabian market (sell dates, Arabian foods, and Moslems fashion).

Good place wisata religion

Its one of sites in east Java for religious experience. Due to the upcoming fasting month, in just 2 days, many moslem people are coming, which caused the traffic on the road and also inside the site and people are littering ☹

This is the oldest mosque in Surabaya. Behind it, there is cemetery of Sunan Ampel, one of wali songo

The area is easy to recognise as the entrances are located by the main street. It is a big complex consists of a building full of kiosks offering merchandises; t-shirts with Wali Songo images are the most popular one, and food, a big mosque, decent toilets and bathrooms, lodgings, cafes, food stalls, fruit sellers, snack sellers, even kids toys.

Its crowded just like any other pilgrimage site... And a lot of souvenir shops at the entrance... Make sure to stay with your group because it really troublesome if you get seperate and lost... Try to keep your manner to... Because its masjid/ mosque. People sholat/pray here and worship god... So please be respectfull...

Good places with islamic culture surrounding it. As a tourism destination, this mosque is located in the centre of kampung and next to one of walisongo funeral, named sunan ampel. It was so unique yet fascinating to go there in this modern era where everything follow the world-trends. Also, on the way to go to the mosque, you might find a kind of market that sell foods, goodies, and local souvenirs. It was very crowded when I went there. The one thing I like the most is the housing area near to the way to the mosque where it has good pedestrian road and free from transportations. It is environmental friendly with good neighbourhood and connection between its people.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟, and want to explore it next time:)

Antique mosque with strong structure. The marble floor is smooth, the wall is thick, the vestibule has wooden carvings. It is very old & is the location of Sunan Ampel tomb. Lots of Madurese traders selling dates, food, & clothes. Piles of Alquran are provided for reciter. Also, free drinkin water is available in pot all over the mosque.

It waa rainy day when Im here. It looks little mess. Too many visitors here, some of them praying while another geting rest. Alhamdulillah there was a plastic-jacket seller.

Its so amazing to have tahajud (Night prayingon old mosque of Ampel. We can have spiritual trip along midnight journey. A lot of helpful man whom appointing and explaining about the spirit sequence from a guest guider, until parking man there.

Very very beautiful old mosque... If you are in Surabaya, you need to visit this Mosque. Make sure wearing long sleve and trousers for man and wear hijab for women.
