I love staying here its clean, so quiet sit in our place n hear the ocean very relaxing. The Owner Michael, his hospitality for anyone who comes your treated like friends, the Food is perfect as we eat 2-3 times a week here. So if u want a great place to stay with great food and private access to the Ocean this is the place to do so...

I would give this place negative stars if I could. Ive never stayed in any place that was in worse condition. NOTHING worked properly, the stench of the sulphur water made us sick, the kitchen was disgusting - 2 missing burners, the other 2 rusted out, an old towel tacked over the window....- only one overhead light in the entire room, loose tiles on the floor..... The floor had more sand than the walkway outside. The door wouldnt latch unless dead bolted.I could go on and on. But the icing on the cake was the bed bugs that ate us alive. DONT GO THERE!

This place is a one-of. Nestled between A1A and a lovely stretch of beach. Our roomy second floor suite had a beachfront view. There were tables and chairs set up in the grass just behind the narrow dunes-- then the beach. The on-site restaurant is good food w/ reasonable prices and a wine list appropriate for the menu. Unfortunately we got the sense that the owner might have lost his enthusiasm for keeping the place maintained or that the low prices didnt allow necessary maintenance. We never had hot water, so the cold showers in March were bracing. We loved the casual, uncrowded vibe. Wed go back-- Im confident they will have the hot water fixed.

The room was dirty, no towels and no housekeeping our entire stay. The ocean was beautiful. If only they took the time to fix and clean the rooms. The stay would be wonderful.

Room was so dirty, ceiling fan had chunks of dust on it, bathroom window was missing, with plywood replacing it, the door wouldnt stay shut unless you locked the deadbolt. The air did not work. We had no towels. This is the grossest place I have ever stayed at, its to bad because the view of the ocean is great.

A MISTAKE I WONT MAKE AGAIN!Room was nasty! No latch on the door, Blinds were broken and would not close for privacy, Bathroom had hair on floor and walls, shower curtain was black with mildew, floor had NOT been cleaned! Air conditioner reeked of MILDEW!! Other tenants appear to be ‘staff’. (Drinking and partying right outside our door! We left without staying a night but Rich DeAngelo charged us for the full weekend and refused to reimburse us a penny!!! We moved to the Hilton 30 minutes away and had a wonderful clean, quiet room!! We were told by locals the food is known for causing food poisoning! Wish I could attach photos I took!! (They tell the story!!)Sorry I didn’t read reviews before booking!!

Absolutely horrific! Dirty floors,sheets,and towels to name a few things..! Door would not even close and the blinds were broken. Mildew growing EVERYWHERE!! The mattresses were old and gross! Also, Rich is not the most pleasant person to do business with. Would not recommend supporting his motel at all!! If you want a nasty and uncomfortable place to stay, this is your motel!

Room was dirty, sink had stuff growing in it, one outlet in the room, bathroom window wouldnt close or lock, doors in the room were flimsy with trash deadbolts, rude staff, trying to charge a full extra night for a late check out. Basically a dump. go five mile up the road and spend the same money with much better service and superior loding.

My wife and I stayed here Jan. 30th and 31st. Our room (#1was supposed to have been a double bed per web site but when we arrived it ended up being 2 single beds. When i went back to office i was told "Sorry" and asked if "that was a problem" told him yes and he just said "Sorry". Then when we were checking the "Tiny" bathroom we noticed there werent any towels , So we went back to office but he had already left. (Door to office was open and unlockedSo we had to get someone from DeAngelos to get us some . Then we also noticed the door to room didnt lock without dead bolt. Would have told someone but never seen anyone after we checked in. If you stay here bring air fresheners for your room after shower, the water stinks more than any place i have stayed in Melbourne. Made me not want to take one. I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Surfcaster is an "old Florida" style motel right on Melbourne beach and A1A . We visited happily some years ago and are thrilled to enjoy it, again. Jay, the manager,, was really friendly. I needed some extras during the week - No Problem! He was there to help. DeAngelos restaurant in front delivered huge Caesar salad & an excellent pizza. Prime rib next nights special. Clean rooms, very comfy porches and dune top tables, great surf, all a very happy vacation fitting our budget, too!

I had a great time. Everyone there was extremely nice. The room was very clean and had all the basic essentials. Very short walk to the beach. The property manager Jay lives on site, and will help you with anything. For the three days I was there he was always doing something. The Italian Restaurant this is less than 100 feet from your room was fantastic. Dont let the outside of the place fool you. It definitely needs a face lift. Note to Owner: Wood deck outside room #9 needs replacing. The AC unit right next to the bed it the master bedroom is extremely loud. It looks to be about 20 years old and needs to be put to rest. The one right next to the TV in the living room was just as bad. Had to max out volume on the TV it was so loud. I am still giving 5 stars because the staff and restaurant made up for it.

Wasnt impressed. My food was good but multiple people in our party (the majoritywere not happy, AC was barely running. Was hot and uncomfortable during my entire dinner. Sanitation was very questionable. They were out of multiple things from drink list and food items. Waiter was very nice but that couldnt make up for all of the other shortcomings.

We have been going there for several years , as a Florida native I just want a cheap room for fishing, Surfcaster has both luxury and affordable rooms. It was a enjoyable trip this year. I met Jay who works there and he bent over backwards to help us! Jay always kept us in clean towels and sheets, he loaned me a cast net when my weight line broke, he found a late night pizza when we returned too late from fishing and the restaurant had closed and delivered it to our room (without us even asking, he also showed me a new cast net throwing technique! It’s not every day a motel employee helps you get bait! Honestly it’s all about people and friendship, I had fun jumping some Tarpon with my son in the surf but I also received something I didn’t expect, I was reminded what it was like to meet a person that treated me like a brother. Thank you Jay for reminding me what it is like. May God be with you my friend.

Tammy was an awesome host!!! We celebrated our 20th anniversary here and reserved 5 nights and stayed 3 more. We didnt want our vacation to end. Tammy and the restaurant staff made our stay incredible. The view from our room was breathtaking and romantic. Rooms 7, 8 and 9 are well worth the money. The restaurant food and service was outstanding. Sebastian inlet was only 10 mins away, we saw dolphins playing everywhere. Thank you Tammy and the rest of the staff for the many wonderful memories. We will be back to celebrate my husbands birthday!!!We celebrated my husbands 50th birthday here with all the kids and grandkids. We stayed in room 9, a 2 bedroom. It accommodated all 9 of us. Jo Jo was awesome and made sure everything went perfectly. We even stayed an extra 4 nights because we just didnt want to leave. The restaurant down stairs served the best Italian food since my husband left New York. Thank you for making his birthday perfect!

Motel HELL !!Filthy and vile are words best to describe this place is and not just the rooms but some of the staff at the motel too !The office manager ( lets call her Yo yo - as her name rhythms with that is nasty and unprofessional and is NEVER around when you check in- that is why they leave the rooms unlocked and keys in on the table inside the room- so she doesnt have to be there when you check in or check out! And forget calling the owner whose number is on the door in case of Emergency- all you get is a voicemail that is full and you are unable to leave a message !The only person who tried to assist us in getting the AC fixed in the room for our Labor Day weekend getaway was a girl from the Restaurant attached to the hotel :StephaniaWant to share what the motels idea of what clean rooms are ( see pics). We stayed in Room 3 and our AC was not working so the manager told us to go sleep in 5 for the night.... These pics are from ROOM 5- Id rather sleep with no AC than a room that smells musty and wreaks of pet urine- but the manager will tell you its Pine Sol.If you decide to stay at this place against all the * star reviews ( which I should have read prior to booking Bring your own sheets/ towels/ pillows etc. as the ones in the rooms are not clean at all. I also attached pictures of the Laundry Room where they get the linens for the guests rooms... GROSS ! This place has the potential to be something beautiful and nice.. great location .. but until the owner hires new management and cleans up the place so there are no more roaches and bugs- we will not be staying there.

Customer Service gets 5 stars, the room however gets 0. The room was filthy visible sand, dirt and bits of drywall everywhere. Even found a huge fishing hook,in the bed. The old ac unit lay on the ground next to the front door, outside of the room. The owner should be ashamed. The room is in desperate need of remodeling and bleach. Not worth the $128.00. Will not return.

My husband and I have been visiting SurfCaster motel in Melbourne Beach for years. We specifically visit when the Sea Turtles are laying their eggs. It is so amazing to sit on this beautiful beach and watch Sea Turtles walk right by you. We loved visiting SurfCaster so much that in fact 2 years ago we decided to have our wedding there.We had made the decision to rent out the entire motel for 2 days to host our Rehearsal dinner, Wedding Ceremony and Reception. This was easy since there are only 9 rooms. The manager at the time was so helpful and even offered us a 20% discount on the rooms. We visited multiple times throughout the 2 years of planning. each time we arrived to find something amiss. I cannot say that everything went smoothly as it never does but Jeff and Jo Jo (Current managementmade conscious efforts to rectify any issues that arose with the motel. The wedding took place in April 2018, which is when the weather is typically the best in Florida. Less mosquitoes and still very cool at night.Once my guests started to arrive on the day of the wedding everything began to come together. The beautiful beach back drop that SurfCaster offers is unbeatable and our guests loved every minute of being there. The outdoor pool table was a hit with the guests and there was plenty of space for everyone to maneuver around. About 70 guests were in attendance which was the perfect amount of people. We really had free range of the property since we rented all of the rooms and it was nice to be able to have so many restrooms available for my guests. We rented a tent, tables and chairs and was able to set up everything perfectly with just the right amount of space.We did have an issue with parking as the restaurant did not want us taking up all of the spaces for its patrons but we were able to find additional parking across the street. The restaurant attached to the motel catered the reception dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The wedding was so much fun and I was so happy to have been able to have our ONE special day at SurfCaster which is located on one of the best beaches (in my opinionin south Florida.If you decide to have an event here please be cautious of using bright lights during turtle season and please clean up after yourselves. Lets keep this amazing place pristine for future generations to come so everyone can enjoy what the natural environment has to offer in this special place. We plan to return to SurfCaster for years to come. Thank you to all of the staff who helped make our wedding weekend awesome!

Dirtiest motel Ive ever stayed at. Was unaware that the water smells like sulfur until we went to take a shower. I had to clean before we could use anything. There was sand in our supposedly clean sheets, hair everywhere, and everything was run down. We stayed 2 nights and tried to make it through as it was our wedding weekend, until the water came out black from the faucet. Refunded and got heck out!

Check in. We were made to feel like family. This is our first time at the Surfcaster. We were looking for an out of the way spot. We found it. We wanted to do some surf fishing. Perfect! The rooms are sound proof, clean, and relaxing. We love it here!
