Very efficient and organized. I was second in the line today. Was done within 15 minutes.I was given a pager token and got my turn within 20 minutes. Was at home within 40 minutes.

When will they convert to electronic recording? To CSC electronic recording service.

I wish I could put zero star. Just need two minutes to complete form but the women at counter 4 no patience and send me after 4 people and need to wait one hour. They are not nice with people. I recommend don’t come to this place

Passport service Almost 5 hours waiting and staff very rudely

The clerks were knowledgeable and friendly. We walked in for a minors passport and we were told the length of the wait, given a hold position. Went to grab a quick lunch. When. We returned it was about a five minute wait until we were called. The application took about 10 minutes to be processed. Please note they do not sell money orders so come prepared with your money order in hand.

Service for passports is terrible. On Monday, I arrived at recorder office at 2pm and was told that they were at capacity with passports for the day. I can back the next day at 7am. I was third in line and waited for 45 minutes and have to leave because I needed to be at work. I also had all the materials ready to be process, so you would think it would be a fast process. They are understaffed and they cannot tell you the wait times. I’m assuming it’s around 20 minutes per applicant. They also don’t do appointments, so if you have all your materials ready it won’t do any good for the wait times. If you do use this facility for passport processing I suggest you clear your schedule because you don’t know how long you are going to wait.I was able to get my passport done later that day at 2pm about 40 miles away from Yuba City. They were able see me right away because I have all the documents I need for the passport application. The whole process with them took only 5 minutes. So there is something wrong with the setup at the Sutter County site.My suggestion to make the process better for this facility is to do them by appointments or appointment/walk-in combination. Since you have only one person who does the passport processing it might make it easier to handle the processing if it is by appointment. Also establishing a pre-screening service might make the process faster for people who have all their materials ready for processing. From what I experienced and what other experienced, it seems that the office cannot accommodate walk-ins efficiently.

Absolutely insane process. Can only do 11 passports all day? And you have to arrive at 7am with your child and both parents? This is idiotic.

Friendly helpful staff. Beautiful old building housing so many original documents that are open to the public. While stopping here for business I couldnt help but have a look at just a few of the thousands of original documents on file.So easy to get lost in the hand written history dating back to the beginning of the area becoming a town in 1856. When you really think about it, it was the surveyors who truly drew out the city in which we live.The language used in the descriptions, the court petitions to move property lines, the hand drawn maps & legends are all as beautiful as the scripted hand writing in which they were written in... Over all, a jewel in our local history.

I got here @8:30am , i was handed a buzzer to sit and wait about an hour in my car sitting in the lobby wasn’t an option. Their parking situation is bad enough, and crossing the busiest street is not easy. My buzzer finally rang and the person behind me was still attended before I was. It’s super frustrating because I had already been here the day prior just for them to have hit max capacity for passports after waiting again for another hour. Their staff is unorganized, had I known I wouldve gone to the chico location instead I’ve heard better things.

This place is slammed in the afternoon on any day. Go first thing in the morning to avoid the wait...theres one chair for large lines and long waits...go in the morning.

This is literally one of the only places around that accepts walk in passport applications. I drove about an hour in order to do the application here rather than wait weeks for an appointment at one of the local spots.I arrived around 10:45am, and was promptly greeted and helped. I was given a buzzer and told to wait outside or in my vehicle. It was a nice day so I settled down outside and waited, taking the time to double check all my materials. After almost an hour, I was about to ask how much longer to expect to wait, when my buzzer went off and I was quickly helped.I was helped by Gloria, who did an amazing job. She was kind and very efficient and clear with what needed to be done. She walked through the different things she needed, and doubled checked everything. Overall the application took less than 10 minutes and I was on my way.I was very thankful that I was able to do a walk in application, and while it was a bit busy and took a while, overall the experience was what was to be expected, and the staff all did an amazing job.

Today is friday ,I went to sutter county office 1 o clock ,for made my new born passport.but they said we dont have time to make new passport today ,u would have to come Monday. but on website office close time 3 o clock and i reached there before 1 clock ,they should change time on website if they cant take new passport application after 12;30😒.I

Lost the copies of my marriage license that i paid for and made me buy them again saying “We didn’t lose them it’s impossible”. No help whatsoever besides giving me a $2 discount on them. What a joke😒

The passport services are nearly nonexistent in Sutter County when you consider that they "reach capacity" within minutes of opening so most people who are in line before 7am are turned away just after the office opens. They wouldnt say what number their capacity is when I inquired over the phone but it has to be 10 or fewer from what Ive observed in our attempts. To expect families with young children to begin waiting in line in the cold and dark at 5am or earlier is ridiculous. Theres no reason to not have an appointment option, while still accepting limited walk-ins 2 days/week.Highly recommend going to the Placer County recorder, where you can make an appointment - sometimes even for the same day. We grabbed appointments after another failed attempt in YC and drove up to Auburn. The staff was wonderful there! Its really unfortunate we had to take time off work and have the kids miss school, but it was worth skipping the continued frustration with the Sutter recorders office.

Horrible Horrible service- actually no service at all . It is a pathetic place for Passports . Please never go there , I went there 3 separate times and they had 3 separate excuses for not providing the service for passports. They don’t want to work period ! They will gladly hand you out the paperwork for all the other locations available in CA to get your passports done. If we live in this county and pay taxes , why should we be going out to a different location? They perpetually and permanently have a sign on the door saying - No more Walk - In applications for the day , even if you stand in line at 5 am , office opens at 7 am. Their answering service is not updated as to when they can and cannot process for passports .I am appalled as to how this county has become .No wonder we are on the bottom of the list for CA for the governor’s office .This never used to be the issue before because I have got mine and my family members passports here before . Please don’t give me the excuse that it is COVID-19 . I have been working for the last 2 years during this Covid phase.Giving the people standing in line the excuse that there are only 2 agents doesn’t cut it . Even if the 2 agents process 10 people each per day - that is 20 people per day for passports .I hope their supervisors are reading this and will do something about this . Needless to say , I made my appointment at another place and believe me it was a breeze with good and exceptional customer service .

The passport service is ridiculous. It takes over 3 hours just to get your passport for one person. They need to figure out a different system ridiculous You pretty much have to give up your whole day waiting outside the building waiting for a pager to go off.

Their passport procedures are ridiculous. The personals are really great, just the procedures are not what is posted on their site. I wish it would be made clearer as to how to go about getting a ticket so that we can get our passports. It says it opens at 9am, I went 2 times right after 7 and waited and when they did open I found out that you have to be there way earlier to get tickets at 7am. Now Ill be making the trip a 3rd time and try to be there at 5 am. It just not a proper procedure.

Front Desk lady (older womenhorrible clerical skills. Very rude.. Has no class to be working at the front. And if your employers see something worthy of you working the front, they are dead wrong. You laugh while your being asked questions. Like Ive mentioned before you have no class to be at the front desk. Seeing all prior reviews I am able to tell you are comfortable and are allowed to treat customers the way you have been and its truly sad and pathetic. Thanks again for wasting my time for the second time and still wasnt able to obtain any solid answers to any of my questions! So who do I ask considering the lady at Sutter County Clerk is a joke and has no patiences for questions??

Terrible place to get your passport, front desk lady was rude when I showed up at 2:45. She turned me away and said to show up before 2 next time. ALL the signs in there state until 3:30, and I told her that to make sure she knew, and suggested maybe taking them down if it’s not even correct.

Very rude receptionist staff, took me 3 visits to get my kids passport form verified. Sign says 9 am to 330 pm for passport applications, but they stop taking them little before 3 pm. Why not just change the hours of receiving applications to 9 am to 0230 pm so people dont have to waste their time.

I arrived at 2:57 to apply for a passport. Website states 9am to 3:30. I took a hour off of work to do this. I had all my forms and money orders ready to go. I waited in line for the receptionist who at exactly 3pm tells me they are not excepting anymore that there are only two ladies working in the passport area. She then started to tell me if I had called they would have told me to come earlier than 3. Now I have to request more time off from my Monday to Friday job.Add something to your website time that its not a guarantee after a certain time or set up a appointment scheduling like DMV.

Horrible service. They have a sign saying they stop processing passports at 3:30pm but that’s a lie because they stop before that and will turn you away. Clerks are very rude.
