Tachikawa Station in Higashikurume-shi

The bakery shop at the station has very nice breads. You can get off here or at Nishi Tachikawa station to go to the Showa Kinen memorial park. Special rapid trains to Tokyo are available from here.

Plenty of great restaurants and coffee shops, as well as shopping. There is a bake cheesetart (yum!), as well as a lush, so this is a great stop. You can catch the special commuter rapid trains here (chip line).

4面8線乗車人員が上野駅より多くてビックリ駅舎は大きいけど、首都圏にはよくある事周辺とはデッキで結ばれていてとても便利

1889年（明治22年）に甲武鉄道の駅として開業。中央本線と青梅線、南武線が乗り入れている他、多摩都市モノレールとの乗換駅となっています。時間帯によっては、五日市線への直通列車も運転されています。中央線の列車を待避する貨物列車を見ることができます。

平日の9時ごろ、新宿行きの特急券買おうとしたら駅員が横からボタン操作して来たんだけど、駅員が操作を間違えて時間消費したせいで車内購入の高い切符買う羽目になった。違う日も指定席買うって言ったのに座席未指定券を勝手にポチりされるし、正直邪魔。並んでる人に乗車賃出してくださいって呼びかけるだけで十分だよ。

スカウトが多いなあ。急いでる時には声かけないで欲しいです目的のお店まで着いてこられて凄く不快でした南口と北口の治安の差が凄い。夜は南口は女ひとりで歩いちゃダメですよ。後ろから男に襲われそうになりました夜職のお姉さんが危ないからと案内してくれて助かりました。ほんとこの街は外部からの人間が多いので要注意です。

時間の都合などの際､今すぐ特急列車に乗車する際､改札内やホームには､指定席券売機が有りますので､わざわざ改札を出て窓口へ行くこともなく､その場で特急券を購入することができるので､便利でございます｡

JR東日本八王子支社の内部でトップ、中央線の中では新宿駅、東京駅に次ぐ第3位の乗客数とだけあり、朝昼夜問わず、終日人が多いです。(早朝及び深夜の時間帯を除く)駅ナカにも様々なお店があるので、非常に便利です。レアな車両がよく通過したりするので、ホームにいるだけでも楽しいです。駅ナカ及び駅の外に様々な美味しい飲食店があります。立川駅の中で有名なお店は、青梅線ホーム(1番線、2番線)にある奥多摩そばという立ち食いそば屋で、実際に食べてみたら、おでんにはしっかりと味がしみ込んでおり、蕎麦との相性が抜群でとても美味しかったです。

駅ビルをいくつも備え巨大なペデストリアンデッキを持つ駅。複数路線が乗入れ駅としての規模は大きい。商業施設も多数あり、利便性は高い。

コインロッカーのシステムについてちゃんと答えられない女性の駅員。それに対して開き直る態度。何かあると明後日の方向に向かう電車をホームを変えて停車させる。殿様営業なら何をしても良いと思っているのだろうか？？

中央線の主要駅の1つです。青梅線と南武線の接続駅でたまにレア車両に遭遇しました。駅ナカにも飲食店が有るのも助かりますね。冬になるとイルミネーションが綺麗です。

本日昼過ぎ立川駅北口の改札にて駅員さんに対応されていました男性の方ご自分もお忙しいかと思いましたのに私に先を譲ってくださいましてありがとうございました。忙そぐ私はお礼も言わず大変失礼な事をしてしまいました本当にすみませんでした。貴方様と女性の駅員さんのおかげで無事に電車に間に合いました。ありがとうございました。ご親切に忘れません。今後はこのような行為に気をつけて参ります。

非常に充実した駅。駅前も開発が進んでいて、東京のはずれにこんないい街があるんだと大きな発見でした。

多摩地区で利用者の多い駅のひとつです！特急列車も止まります！ルミネ、グランデュオ、伊勢丹など商業施設は充実しています！

【更新しました】近年伊勢丹、高島屋が誘致されたころから駅としての価値は高かった訳ですが、多摩都市モノレールの開業後、以前は北と南しかなかった改札口が増えて格段に便利になりました。北口の新ビルオープンに伴い構外の専用通路で北と南が行き来出来るようになったことでより近代的となり従来の単なるターミナル駅から数段駅としての価値が上がりました。多摩都市モノレールやヤマダ電機方面へ行くには混雑している中央改札を抜けるより北改札を出る方が便利です。駅ビルグランデュオ側の改札が開業して駅構内が広くなりました。【更新】更に立川駅からモノレールに沿って高松駅方面へ少し歩くとIKEAの手前に美術館、オフィス、ホテル、カフェ&レストラン、公園、コンサートホール、イベント施設等が一体となった広大な緑🌳🌳の空間「グリーンスプリングス」が出来、憩いの場となっており、立川駅自体の利用価値も更に高まりました。

Big station in the western part of Tokyo. Many stores within the station complex as well as around it. Can get pretty confusing as to whether you are in the North or South side since the station stretches long and has a bridgeway leading to various directions, so best to have access to some area maps if you are not familiar and will need to navigate in the area. Great place to do lots of stuff away from the central.

A very useful station where Limited Express Azusa and Kaiji mainly stop. Chuo Line, Ome Line, and Nanbu Line are seen at this station.

多摩地域の中心街と言えるぐらい便利な街だと個人的に思っています。駅前には駅ビルのルミネ、グランディオデパートは伊勢丹ビックカメラ、ヤマダ電機、メガドンキホーテもろもろ色々揃っている街です。最近だと北口にできたグリーンスプリングスは今まで多摩地域にはなかった雰囲気を作っているのでとても、人気です。飲食店も個性的なお店が多くあるのでこれからの街の発展が楽しみです！

It looks big and interesting.

Spacious station, it is far for Tokyo city center, but doesn’t really look like suburb, much better than saitama city or west chiba area that are equally distant from Tokyo city center.Tachikawa area is clean, haven seen any weird people there

My favorite hangout since 2011, this station has 3 big shopping malls inside it, lots of places to eat and good train connections. Yet, it is never as crowded as Shinjuku and is never chaotic.Lots of attractions near the station also including the huge Tachikawa Showa park which is always a good place to hangout/attend some event.Probably the last really vibrant and happening station West of Tokyo (Hachioji is very average for me).

Wonderfully spacious Tachikawa station, loads to do and pretty ok connections. Truly the Shinjuku in the mountains!

The station should be the central of Tama district (west side of Tokyo metropolitan zone). The structure has been expanding for the last 3 decades and becomes more and more accessible, especially with regard to the connection btw north and south side.
