Everyday is Taco Tuesday for us and TJs are the best. Our pick for fast food Tex Mex!

Had the new Carnitas and potato burrito. I was surprised by the great flavor. It was a little light on the meat, but it was better than expected. The drive through service was very friendly and quick.

Some of my favorite people work at Taco Johns in Clear Lake IA.

When you go to TJs, you know what to expect and they didnt let me down.

Food was okay but they messed up my order.

The potato oles were double cooked and tasted horrible. Thankfully the other items we ordered were good

Had a quick breakfast. Took one of my favorites off the menu. Sad.

Disgusting. Pulled off the highway to eat here. Order tacos and absolutely terrible. Brown lettuce and watery beef.

Fast delivery on food. Let me know about the outage of rice. However looked pretty run down. Crew members looked very unkept, and food wasnt that great. Also had a truck blocking the drive thru and didnt look open really at first had to check the door just to see if it was.

I have stopped at this location multiple times and the bathrooms are always disgusting. Convenient for gas but I would stay away from the food.

Just came through with a group of 8 and the staff were great! We had hot and fresh food and the staff were friendly. Great experience!

Theres isnt one in the Dallas Fort Worth area so when I come home. I eat here 😂

Was at restroom gas station shared with them only. Was clean, first one all day.

Breakfast burrito with egg, cheese, potato olays, and bacon. Used drive thru window and staff was frienl5and helpful.

Manager was awesome super clean restaurant fast service friendly employees that obviously liked their job. You dont find this in Oregon much lol 😆

Well... 7pm and it was closed. Not happy at all... People were in there, but all locked up and told they were closed for the night....

The food is great and the asst mgr.lisa lansaw is the bomb and everyone needs to go in just to check out what color her hair is this week . Love ya girl.

Stop off at the Kum & go and my brother went to Taco Johns drive through with fire too busy to go through and the online backed up all the way out to the highway. When he placed his order he had asked for extra seasoning on the potato lays when he got them they were old cold with no seasoning at all and does Taco Bell apart in his hands wont be going there were stopping at that Taco Johns anytime soon or ever again when Im up that way

Cashier was slow, got my order wrong. Ordered s Boss burrito they mustve added everything except the chicken. Food not worth the price

Horrible. Half the tacos practically no meat the other half no cheese. 3 people working nobody there ordering so no excuses. Lobby is closed due to shortage of employees have to stand in the drive thru. Used to be one of my favorite places to stop not anymore and never again. I guarantee they wouldnt have made them this way for themselves or their friends and family.

Food was hot! Potato Oles were cooked to perfection. Drive thru staff was very courteous, and friendly!

Good Taco Johns. About what youd expect. Food was just okay, but the service was excellent, personable, and polite. No complaints on the staff, light complaint on the food, but that may just be personal preference. Will go again...... and again. Lol

Only three people working counter, cooking and drive up, working their tails off!! Young man at counter kept apologizing for us having to wait. Kudos to them for a job well done.

Brought supper home cos I didnt feel like cooking that night. Wife had chicken pot pie with coleslaw and I had a 3 piece chicken dinner with mashed tators and gravy.

Taco Johns has the best tacos! Filling and fresh every time. The menu is very selective with lots to choose from. Doesnt matter what time of the day....Taco Johns is good anytime.

Clean, good service. One star off for not offering salsa when ordering, which is the only way to get it now. Which means stand in line again to get some or do without.

I pass back that truck stop every day and you were closed because you didnt want to pay your employees more money. I was wanting a bite to eat and you were closed in the middle of the dinner hour. I wont stop there ever again. NEVER!

Gals were very courteous and fun to joke with. Gal asked to take my order. Told her wanted "6 of everything and they only had 5 minutes to make it. If not they had to buy." She got good laugh. Glad I could make there day.

After long day of travel stopped here with family. Great food. Great service. Great prices. .Great variety. Worth the stop for everyone.

The young man at the counter was absolutely pleasant, polite and made us feel completely comfortable. We live in mn but would so go back to Iowa just for his hospitality. And the food was pretty good. Not cold, but not to hot to eat. Perfect! Wonderful experience guys great job.

Saw this place from the interstate. Took the next exit to backtrack. I get here only to find that,, the Hours are incorrect. Apparently people in Iowa dont eat tacos after 8pmNot a very happy taco Tuesday 😕Ar least the attached gas station had a burger that was made sometime yesterday.All in all, pretty well sucked. Waste of time and money

Its been 2 years since weve been near a Taco Johns. Drove 30 minutes to get some Super Potato oles. They were everything that I remember. Thanks!

I’m vegan. I try Mexican places because they can usually accommodate my diet. I verified and asked twice if my food would come without dairy or meat. I got a bowl that I asked to be vegetarian so no meat double beans if they could, they said no problem. (You can see how little beans they gave meI asked for no cheese or sour cream they said no problem. But when i got home and opened my bowl it had everything except meat. Thankfully my boyfriend ate it because he doesnt care and didnt want to waste. I got a side of plain refried beans and potato oles but was quickly sick. My stomach has been aching terribly for a couple days now. I wish I had checked the whole order before leaving.

Have stopped here often because it has truck parking. Website stated 0700 opening, Sign on door says 0800. Maybe when the employees are smoking out the back door and checking there face book status, Someone could change the time.Always pleasant folks and good food.

Pretty basic Taco Johns experience. Fast food served somewhat fast. The order was technically correct though the food was perhaps a bit low even for fast food standards. Honestly, Im not asking for or expecting much when I hit a fast food restaurant, and thats pretty much what I got.

Waited in drive thru for 10 minutes at 730pm. Sign said it was open until 9. Saw employees in there but they must have decided to close early. Would not recommend going here! Drive another 5 minutes and get taco bell

It’s not enough to say the staff was friendly... they were all very courteous, helpful and personable! They made our stop enjoyable and their customer service just stood out! Food was fresh and delicious too 😁 If the manager could commend the staff working 9/11/20 around 8pm, they deserve some recognition!

Amazing food for a great price. Always great service and you get your food in a timely manner. I love their stuffed burritos and the potato ole scrambler if you like breakfast

I grew up in marshalltown IA and that taco Johns has always been my favorite however this taco Johns in clear lake is up there as well! Ive always had good food good service. My only big complaint is they need ketchup in a pump for oles opening a bunch of packets is a little tedious! Enjoy!

Not the best customer service. Cashier didnt listen to a word I said for my order while looking at me. Proceeded to only ring up my fiances order. I corrected her and she still gave me the wrong order. I came back to fix the issue and the cook told the cashier thats not true. They gave me a burrito in about .00001 seconds which was suspicious.

2 young men working there were two immature to worth there without supervision. Food was good once it was finally made right, plus we were overcharged (they were honestand gave us money back. All n all not a great place, but Ive seen worse.

Cashier made up a rule about using free combo coupons... Said its only good for beef! Never heard of that before at all! Also, he wouldnt let us use coupons on separate transactions. Not good customer service!2 stars instead of 1 only because the food we got was well prepared and tasty.

Awesome food good fast friendly service ! They keep it nice an clean i enjoy this taco Johns i prefer going to this one more then any other taco Johns the salsa bar is always stalked fresh if they make a mistake they are always happy to fix the mistake!!
