A surprising diamond in the {ruff).A very Spartan atmosphere, but the service was impeccable and the food (ribs and steakwas exceptionally good! Please try the crab dip!The chef mingled with the table and we got to exchange a couple recipes. BTW its (pet friendly).
Amazing food and amazing service! We took my 10 month old nephew and my 1 year old Cane Corso for dinner one night after a particularly stressful day. Dylan was our server and came right out with a bowl of water for Lux, my Corso, and immediately was able to get our drink orders and help us get my nephew situated. He made the dining experience so delightful. It was my nephews first time at a sit down dinner at a restaurant and Dylan was kind, patient, and understanding. Lux got plenty of love and pets too! I cant say enough about how awesome this restaurant is! If you are in the OC area and need a FAMILY friendly place to dine.... THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!
I absolutely enjoyed myself at Tailchasers. I went with my husband for a nice lunch before hitting the road. The food was phenomenal. We started out with mussels, oysters, and calamari. Everything was hot and fresh. You can taste the ocean in every bite. Our waitress was also amazing. She was kind, engaging, and had great customer service. We sat outside, and the view was beautiful. It wasnt too windy and we were close to the bar. My dirty martini was delicious and strong. The restaurant itself is very pretty. Its family friendly(playground includedand pet friendly. We cant wait to go back!
Great menu, solid service AND a playground with actual sand for kids. The menu is wide and it has a everything from Asian staples to loaded pulled pork nachos and coastal food. Prices are fair and service was very good, very accommodating
We actually went to Tailchasers "sister" restaurant "Hooked" earlier this week. The menus are quite similar but not exact. We found the execution at Hook to be a bit better. Example: I got the beet & arugula salad at both places: I thought Hooks was better. I found the one at Tailchasers to be a bit light on arugula and had too much cheese for my taste. I was thrilled that it was just $3 each for shrimp and fish tacos, so I had one of each--they were equally good at both places. We also enjoyed the guacamole at Tailchasers. Sitting on the deck overlooking the canal at sunset was just lovely. And Maria took great care of us.
Our favorite happy hour for food specials and a must every time we are in town! The food is always great as well as the service and never a long wait.
I have literally tried to call 30+ times to see if they have my card that I believe I left last night. Understandably my fault. I left it. But no one can answer the phone? No one can answer the phone and you can’t leave a voicemail. The fact alone that no one answers the phone is enough for me to not return for mediocre food. Otherwise I would return … but am honestly bothered by the fact they answer phone calls
Super disappointed with the food and drinks here. Cocktails barely had more taste than water - seems to be a theme in Ocean City unfortunately. Service was flat as well. Definitely wont be returning.
My son and I read the reviews and decided to go. So glad we did. We sat outside along the water. The breeze kept us comfortable as well as the seating. We had some drinks which were good especially the classic orange crush. My son had the Carolina pulled pork sandwich which he said was " Best one I have ever had". I tried it and it was good. Logan the server recommended a few dishes, but she loved the scallop dish. I was skeptical and asked what the serving size would be. She said 8 oz, so I went for it. The scallop dish consisted of mushrooms, cheesy grits, asparagus, cucumbers and 5 large tasty scallops. I am usually disappointed when I order scallops(small portions). This was not the case. This is the best scallop dish I have ever had and one of the best meals I have had in OC during my 25 yrs of visiting. Thanks Logan for your service and recommendation :). Looking forward to coming back again on my next visit.
The food was excellent. I really wanted to rate this place 5 stars. I was surprised at how great the food tasted and was prepared. It was 5 star restaurant quality. Completely unexpected. However, service was majorly lacking. I dont normally complain about service but it was really bad. Maybe the waitress was having a bad night. I will still come back again!
We loved eating at Tailchasers. Food was delicious, ambiance was great and staff was very good and courteous. We went twice because my daughter loved the pulled pork sandwich and she is a picky eater so it was a no brained. Inside Its cute and quaint and outside is very nice with an area for kids to play while parents enjoy the views. Well come back to O.C. and eat at Tailchasers.🏖️😋
Came here for oysters & was disappointed. Ordered local oysters & they were extremely dirty and un-servable. Had to order the $4 oysters to get clean ones. Calamari over cooked. Wine selection is mass produced garbage for having high end oysters on the menu. Wont be back.
Pros: The food & drinks were good. We had oysters, wings, & poke. It was great to sit outside even in the rain. The service was fast & pretty friendly.Con: Without realizing, we ordered 2 items on the 3-5pm Happy Hour menu at around 2:50pm. We werent allowed a price adjustment. Its always packed so be ready for a wait.
Server Sam was awesome, loved all the food and everything, Sam took his time to answer some of the question we had asked and we could tell that he was extremely knowledgeable and well spoken. As a server//bartender myself, I enjoyed the environment, food quality, server care, and even the manger was a nice person. Thank you for an amazing time for my family’s night out, will come back.
Great spot, been going here since 2019. Kind of declined a little over the past few years but is still good. Some portions have gotten smaller, like the crab dip - which used to be served with soft pretzels. The ribs used to be amazing but they keep changing the recipe every year and are awfully bland now and would avoid them at the price. The rest of the menu has gotten a little lighter but is still good.
Went early with my adult kids and 15 month old grandson. Cheerful attentive waitress. Fried calamari appetizer and mahi-mahi ceviche. Calamari slightly over cooked. Mains were excellent. Crab Cobb salad, superb crab cakes, locally sourced mahi-mahi (I didn’t know they farmed dorado nowand ribs with “fantastic” collard greens. They also have a lovely children’s playground with a sand bottom. There are tables there but we’d been seated outside near the bar and discovered the playground later.
While the food was tasty, our takeout order came from the kitchen barely warm. The kids meal macaroni and cheese was Kraft and they charged $15 for a half a box worth and a serving of fries or green beans. And it took almost twice as long as they said it would.. Disappointed.
Great atmosphere. By the water on the Bayside. Excellent food! Sandy playground area great for kids! Definitely would recommend for the family or just to go out for drinks.
Great service and food. We do prefer Hookeds atmosphere. Tailchasers is very family oriented, and as a couple that can be a lot with many large parties. If youre a group, Id highly recommend. If you just want a relaxing evening it may not be for you.
This is a first class restaurant. The seafood is fresh and flavors are robust. Our server Tommy was on point and very attentive. We have 3 children and our table at the playground was spacious and well maintained. The kids had a blast! Highly recommend Tailchasers for any family dynamic.
Main courses were outstanding! Had the shrimp poke bowl and he had the steak chimichurri bowl. We both enjoyed the meal immensely! Dockside punch was okay and the Tailchasers crush was pulpy but good. I don’t really recommend the chips and guacamole as all the avocado was not fully ripe mashed up completely.
We ate out by the playground and it way such a comfortable, fun atmosphere for family with children. Food was delicious and our waitress and the staff was very pleasant.
First time here but will definitely be coming back! The food and drinks were great and having a playground for the kiddos while you wait is genius. Great family place and comfortable atmosphere.
Very good, Everytthing was great! I had the Carolina pulled pork and it was great!
Food was very good and plated well. The bread pudding is a good choice for dessert and our waiter Zach was very kind and checked on us regularly.
Sat us earlier than the wait time but then we waited at our table for forever until the manager saw us looking around for someone to wait on us. As soon as they realized, the waitress that came over was very attentive to us. They brought all 4 of our meals out at different times so we didn’t really get to eat together, which we didn’t like. One of our meals was cold when it got to the table so we had to send it back. All of the food was good though. The overall atmosphere was nice and was pleasantly surprised the place is dog friendly. I would be willing to try it again.
The worst food n service I have received in a very long time. Our aops were delivered to the wrong table, my Greek salad was covered in anchovies n had to order wine 3 times. Couldn’t get a box n the bill was wrong.
Our server was great but the food was not good at all. Especially for the price. Two-star because my husband said the orange crush was really good.
Maybe it was just a bad day for our server but our order was a mess. We didnt get our apps before the food came. The order was messed up my son didnt get his fish and chips. We paid $25 for one crab cake, I gave the waitress (Averyan opportunity to give some excuse for the many issues we had with our service but none really came. She seemed in a hurry to get away from our table and didnt return for long periods. Im unsure of Ill be visiting here again, could just have been a bad day.
Good food. Waiter was not the friendliest but he may have new to the job. Update. Went back for a second time.. A different waiter but still very unfriendly staff.. This waiter made us seem rushed and he acted as if we inconvenienced him for waiting on us.
Love this place! Great for family and friends. I like that the kids menu comes with dessert, each kid gets to pick their own. Not to mention a play area to give the kids something to do while you finish your meal or drink.
Quaint location on canal, lots of boat activity, great family place.Food was great but service needed more training. FOR EXAMPLE had mussels which were great but no shell plate. No visiting table to see if we needed something.
Good food and really nice atmosphere. The smoked wings and various bowls are recommended. Be prepared to wait if you want a table in the playground area. It is very popular.
Ocean city has a handful of kid friendly bar/restaurants with playgrounds and this is the best one. The food is really good. We had the crab bisque and calamari. The actual playground area is also great. Its pretty self contained with only one way out. Its a little on the expensive side for example a kids meal is $15 which seems a bit outrageous but it comes with legit ice cream desert. Overall if you are in Ocean city and you want good food and drink and to be able to watch your kids play for an hour or two you cant do better than this place.
This place has lovely outdoor seating. We were indoors and service was much slower there. At first I don’t think we had an assigned waiter. The food was all good. Nachos were a generous size and the mix between sweet pork and spicy jalapeños was delicious. The calamari was great and the tacos were okay. The fish and shrimp tacos were both breaded so if that is your preference you’d love them. Salmon bowl was very refreshing with good flavor combinations.
We were hoping to have an enjoyable lunch here over the past weekend but had to walk out due to extremely rude service. After being sat a server came over to take our drink order. We asked for water while we checked out the menu. You would have thought this was a massive inconvenience (attitude with eye roll and all). If that was how our experience started then there was no way we were going to stay and be treated badly. Ocean City has PLENTY of restaurant options. Save yourself the time and go to where youll be treated as a valued customer. I cant rate the food as we decided to eat elsewhere.
Good happy hour, nachos were tasty and fulfilling. The playground is great when you have kids in the area
My wife and I were staying in a local hotel and Tailchaser was in walking distance. The food was excellent! I had the calamari appetizer and my wife had the crab bisque soup. Our entrees were the salmon and shrimp. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for an excellent dining experience. Our waitress Peyton was knowledgeable and very nice and hospitable. We will have to stop in again before going back to NJ. Thanks Tailchasers for an excellent evening!
Wonderful dog friendly restaurant. It was busy on a Friday night. Our 19 lb malshi mix sat at the table. Our server Colin was wonderful. He gave our pup a water bowl too. Food came out fast. Poke bowl was delicious and full of flavor. Nachos and chicken wings were very good as well. We really enjoyed our dinner. I absolutely would visit again.
This spot is a little farther north than other similar restaurants, however, it is 100% worth the extra few minutes. The food is delicious. Everyone loved their meals. We had crab dip, boom boom shrimp, peel and eat shrimp, crab bisque, beet salad, and a shrimp bowl. Having sampled a good bit of the menu it’s safe to say we couldn’t find fault in any of the dishes. The kids meal was standard Mac and cheese but my kids actually ate it so that’s a win! Our server was wonderful and made sure we were taken care of at all times. And of course the kids loved the playground while the adults were able to enjoy some delicious orange crushes!
This place was great. Had the boom boom shrimp and crab dip for appetizers and both were very tasty. For my meal, I had the fish and chips. The fish was light and crispy and the fries were plentiful. The Staff was attentive and professional.
They have a nice dog-friendly patio that overlooks a bayside dock. Also, they have a small playground for kids to run around in. Not a ton of choices on the menu, but what we ordered was very good (calamari, burger, fish and chips, fried shrimp (kids menu)). Server and hosts were all very nice. Cost us $84 for three entrees, one appetizer, and one beer. So, not cheap, but we liked it. Will go again.
Fun place. Cool view of the bay and canal with its outside seating. Maria is a new bartender thats attentive and friendly. Plenty of local beers on tap and you can sample before getting a pint for about $8, totally reasonable. I had the roasted beets and arugula salad with chicken. Fresh greens, mild feta, and hot grilled chicken strips make the dish unique but welcoming.
Welcoming, warm atmosphere, made to order delicious, fresh food, amazing service, manager, chef, servers all came to check on us and had great energy. We were celebrating my daughter’s 16th bday and they made it special. Definitely will be back!
Happy hour crushes were the perfect choice for a hot day. Great flavor and nice chunks of crab for the Cream of crab soup! The nachos were perfect for sharing. Wings had tasty rub and cooked to perfection! Our server Ben was friendly and on point with all of our requests. Manager was checking in on all the tables.
Sat outside next to the playground on a spectacular day. The tikes played hard with about 100 other kids. The food was terrific - we caught the happy hour specials: mussels, nachos, wings... The wings were the star - enjoy them. All the food was great, as was the service. Highly recommended for an early dinner or late lunch. The cocktails hit the spot.
Great for the kiddos; or server Tommy was very understanding while we placed at least 5 separate orders between kids foods, apps, drinks (multiple rounds), and entrees.Kids meals are huge ($15), we only needed one to share between both kids.Compared to Dead Freddies the food was slightly better and less spendy.
This was like a hidden treasure. We happened upon it and were so glad we did. It was a nice setup with multiple bars, a small walkway to a playground, multiple floors, and an open kitchen. The food was really good. I liked that they had a small menu and that they did everything we ordered very well. I look forward to future visits.
Awesome friendly employees who are taking covid seriously. Food was excellent and our server provided great service. Nice views from the outdoor patio. We had the crab cobb salad, fish tacos, and calamari. So good! We will definitely be back.
Located next to a canal. The deck and "beach" area are both nice. Relaxed vibe and friendly staff. During COVID19 they ask that you view their menu online for ordering even if you are dining in. Very tasty nacho mama grilled cheese and my favorite drink is the peach keen crush.
