Nice piece of history, well presented. Very interesting, and well worth a visit.
This is a truly a hidden gem. So much history. To think people used to do this for a living.. meat was sent to the UK, the pelts used for hats and the skins were sent to the USA.. well worth a visit...
MoreIt is informational and good for people who enjoy watching little rabbits get slaughtered.
MoreGreat place to take the kids. Learned alot about the rabbits and texas
Authentic and well presented display of a little known part of Australian history when the schoolkids could earn more then their teachers monthly salary by spending one weekend catching rabbits and selling them to this local rabbit factory for export. If you are interested in Australian history it is a must see and is like a time capsule. Very well presented with friendly staff and volunteers.
MoreAmazing place to visit, so interesting
Very interesting. My grandfather was a rabbit trapper & used to take my mum during the depression.
MoreWell worth a visit
Very interesting and well presented
Its ok. Only open a few days of the week and not on the days we visited! One of the significant landmarks of the town and if you have any interest in the towns history it is a must view stop. The building looks interesting but when shut there isnt much going on. Parking out front on the grass.
MoreWhat a great display. Well worth seeing. Would recommend it. We spent at least an hour and a half. Could have spent more time there.

We were blown away by this simple but significant part of Australias history about the rabbit...introduced at Winchelsea VIC, not far from where we live! The whole Rabbit Works has been preserved and added to with visitor experiences like videos, displays and story boards.Make sure you find out the whole story of our rabbit exports....and watch the Akubra Hats story...amazing!
