The Eddy in Providence County

If you visit Providence and only vist one bar, this is the one not to miss. It is THE place for cocktails downtown. Food choices are modest in scope, but as dazzling in flavor as they are in simplicity. Aim to get there early cause it can fill up by about 7 (mainly on weekends and also depending on whats going on downtown).

Best cocktails in town Ive encountered so far. Great vibe inside. I cannot stress enough the limited seating available here. Not bad standing along the wall enjoying a drink though.

Was pretty regular since I moved here 4 years ago, brought my partner who I go here with often. We brought a friend in who was managing an event at the Providence performing arts center. Staff who was different than the usual was extremely rude, I couldnt pay fast enough. Left a $20 tip for my one drink, wont return.

Craft cocktail original. Speak easy vibes. Great for before or after dinner cocktails.

I like the little food menu they have earlier in the evening. I typically end up getting the punch which is the cheapest drink on the menu but is always good.According to my phone, I’ve been coming here over 7 years. I love the lighting in here. Nice and dark. Cocktails are usually excellent (I’ve only had a couple that were not my thing)The bartenders are super experienced and know everything (or maybe they just google stuff but I am ok with that too haha)

I love the vibe here. And the cocktails. Especially the cocktails. The bartenders know their craft, and their cocktail menu is creative and even a bit whimsical if thats possible. The tone is set by the almost life-sized painting of a jumbo jet, warm and moody like a sun-faded Polaroid, watching over the patrons. The space is at once sultry and intimate, yet lively and gregarious. Food offerings are simple and minimal.And on a personal note, as a white man of some size who probably looks like he can "take care of himself", I had the rare experience of a bartender discreetly checking in with me to make sure an overly familiar patron wasnt making me uncomfortable. I was amazed and endeared to realize the bartender took it upon himself to ensure *everyones* safety and comfort.

This dark and mysterious gem is a must see for small parties. Delicious food, delicious drinks, kind attentive staff, reasonable prices.

This is a really corny bar where management seems to train workers to only like it when skinny white basic people sit at their bar.

Atmosphere is nice, most of the cocktails are on the bitter side

Definitely one of my favorites. When I visit I take an Uber in from the suburbs and take an Uber home because the drinks are so good and I dont want to drive. All the food is good too. I would say the whole place is beautifully conceived and executed.

Fantastic artisan cocktais. Hate that word but wonderful made drinks and menu changes periodically. Cheese and charcuterie choices are excellent also. Cant go wrong at any time for a great drink.Still a fantastic joint! 8/3/2022

This place is absolutely tiny inside and has a pretty small outdoor area so I would recommend reservations or coming pretty early. We got a sampler platter of lots of meats and cheeses with drinks and we were completely blown away by how great it was to share. Perfect for a group of five people. The drinks were great and we had a really fun server. This place is not meant for large groups nor can it accommodate it but for a group of four or less I think this is great for drinks and snacks!!

We were in RI for a total of six hours, but none were better than the one spent here. Even with such little to go on, I’m going to say that the Eddy has the BEST DRINKS IN THE STATE. Do not almost walk by because it’s sprinkling. Be sure to sit at the bar to watch the magic happen.I hear the shellfish is good too, but we now have a reason to come back to this fine state.

Super cute spot, loved the cocktails and the cozy patio. Docking a star because there is no accessible entrance. I’m a wheelchair user so I was not able to go up the step into the bar. Even though my friend and I enjoyed the patio, I was not able to access the bathroom, or sit inside if I wanted to. Please consider adding a ramp!

Hip. Cosmopolitan. If you went to a Nordstrom Rack at Wrentham earlier and are okay with being seen or not being seen, you go here.In my first visit, I saw two professionals handling their craft like artists. Their performance in crafting drinks had a uniformity. When beverage mixers have a rhythmic pattern, it captures the attention.Pay attention to the menu during your first visit. Knowledge of it can make a first date more welcoming.They a mezcal here, too. Order it neat. This may have been part of the inspiration for this particular post.

I went for a few drinks and it was great! Seating outside was very nice, service was attentive, and we really enjoyed the drinks. We will definitely go back to try the food as well.

Nice cozy place with a great ambiance. Stopped in for a couple of drinks and a bite to eat. Food was delicious and fresh and service was excellent.

Very average, ordered the punch and felt like I was drinking Hi-C from a kid. Not much alcohol and so much sugar.Both bar tender and waiter glued to their phones, no social interaction with the customer.Also went at 4:30, but would get my service back again!Couldn’t figure out the odd smell til I saw the disgusting excuse for a bathroom, my fiancé had to sit in front of a troth for a toilet, and smelt like an animal had died in the pipes.Two stars is even for the fun atmosphere, has potential but needs a major lift in staff/drinks.

Eddys is the place to go if you just want to drink. They have very few options for eating anyway. The ambiance was unappealing since it was excessively dark. Also, noticed they have shortage of staff. We went there for my friends birthday. But felt ruined birthday dinner plans.

Great drinks, chill setting, amazing little bites and tapas. Perfect for a weekday date night.

My girlfriend and I went here after searching for a cool bar scene. The eddy beat our expectations. It was super quaint and comfortable and the drinks were phenomenal. The small bread+meat portions were a perfect snack. Can’t wait to come back.

One of the best places for a nice handcrafted drink. Nothing disappointed this palette! Super chill place with great snacks, food, and drinks of course. The bartenders are so welcoming and provide great service. Definitely stop by here, you won’t regret it!

All good things to say about this place great atmosphere and customer service. We had a bad experience at a local restaurant and came here and Horus was more than amazing and turned our night around!! It was our friends bachelorette party and he made it that much more special. He was the nicest and caring server. Thank you thank you for making our night better. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Cramped bar with pretentious staff. A friend made reservations for 2. They claimed that we requested outside seating despite the fact that it was 32 degrees outside. The aforementioned seating area had no heat and was in an alleyway next to a parking lot and a dumpster. I give credit to the matradee for helping me find 2 open barstools inside, but my experience with the bartender was bizarre. She refused to serve me a drink that my friend requested before she came, claiming she would need to ID her, though she never IDd either one of us.

We just came in here and we left very unhappy. The staff was not friendly at all and made us feel very unwelcome. Saved 2 spots at the bar for people that didnt even exits. said they were in the bathroom but i had just spoken to the girl that went into the bathroom and she was leaving. Basically shoved us out after we both bought drinks.

My FAAAAVORITE place to get a cocktail in Providence. Ive never had a bad beverage here and love the wonderful bartenders!

A great small place to get some drinks and apps. We went before a show at PPAC and it was perfect. I am actually surprised that they werent busier. Glad we had a reservation regardless. The only thing I dont like is that because it is so tiny, they only have ONE bathroom. There was someone in the bathroom, and then another person waiting on line...so if it was any busier, I fear that I would never have been able to make it on time! But regardless, the apps we had were great and the drinks delish.

We were waiting for any seats/tables to open as we were standing. Remind you no other parties were waiting. We went to take a seat once bar seats had opened and been cleaned and the bartender had asked us if “we had permission” to take a seat. I am embarrassed for the establishment that this is how they treat patrons. We decided to leave after one drinks and take our business and money elsewhere! Bartender name was Jen. Also, our drinks were pre mixed and alcohol was added to the pre mixed drink.

The Eddy is a little gem of Providence. Open late for drinks with a super lovely staff and very classic feel this is the perfect spot for a relaxed evening with a few friends or a date. The vibe is very sleek and the seating is cute and cozy - a couple of wood booths that could seat 5 or 6, lots of room at the bar, and little tables for smaller groups. The drink menu is nicely balanced with something for everyone and the drinks themselves are always gorgeously made and garnished! Do note that they stop serving food a few hours before close so definitely eat beforehand if youre getting there past midnight. Ive heard amazing things about the food, though, so I will definitely be making a return visit soon to try it myself!

Great service and unique mixology. Atmosphere lends itself to tight-knit groups, rather than meeting others, but that tends to be the case with most cocktail bars. Try the Summer Babe or the Slow Down cocktails when you stop by.

I have always loved the Eddy, but I have to say the new outdoor setup due to Covid guidelines is AWESOME! They have transformed an alley into a chill lounge with a great vibe! Everything is super safe and the food & drinks almost taste even better being outside on a summer night!! Well done!!

Great place to chill out with friends! The Cuban Sliders were delicious, as well as the House Punch. Definitely coming back

Trendy atmosphere, Ive noticed some gay guys (I dont judgeso its obviously gay friendly. The drink I got (Toll-House Rulesis pretty strong, they dont skimp out on the liquor. Kinda cramped, small area, but worth the drink if you only have a friend or 2.

Great spot for a delicious cocktail and creative small bites. My husband and I have been visiting this bar since 2017 every time we are in Providence visiting our daughter at college. I thought it would be the perfect venue to celebrate her 21st. Not sure if it was the number of people in our group or if it was just an off night, but the drinks and food were just ok and the service was not as friendly as I remember. Slightly disappointing, considering it was early in the evening and our first stop of the night but we managed to succeed with the remainder of the evening. I will still be back, maybe with just a small group, during graduation weekend - as their drinks and olives are among the best in the city!

Great little spot. Really good nibbles menu & fantastic cocktails - had the "not for nutin". Sweet playlist and good service. The Eddy has great vibe and is worth a visit.

Loved the selection of snacks. Cheese and meat are always my go to and they were delicious. I enjoyed the cocktail list but the bartender made me a delicious Manhattan with a few of my preferences. She was great. The place is a nice little cozy set up. Ill definitely be back.

This bar is always a pleasant experience. I particularly enjoy sitting in the booths toward the back. The bartenders are experienced and knowledgeable. There seasonal drink menus are inventive. In fact, I have not yet had a drink here that I did not like. The music can be a bit loud sometimes, but you can still carry on conversation.If going on the weekend, I recommend showing up before 9pm, as it fills up and you may have to wait to be seated.

Nice n cozy local bar. Really enjoyed my tall boy Narragansett. Pair that with a serving of olives and youre all set. Good price too! Odd atmosphere, but if youre into JUMBO jets they have one next to the bar!

Cool cocktail bar with limited seating. Dark atmosphere perfect if youre hiding from law enforcement or psycho ex boyfriends. Cocktails are amazing.

Very nice and knowledgeable bartender. The cocktails are very well crafted. Everyone loved theirs and we only had one each. We wanted to come back after dinner but didnt get the chance. This is a great example of a small establishment that is just doing things right. Its a very modern and artsy bar too, which was the icing on the cake.

The mixologists here are knowledgeable and can make most of the drinks you have requested. I like to come here earlier when they open to enjoy a cocktail or two before dinner at the nearby restaurant because this place will get crowded into the night. My favorite cocktail? Bartenders choice!
