The Erie Hotel & Restaurant in Pike County

We went up for fall foliage & met friends who now live in the area. Pub style dining with bar.

Food was very good. Restaurant was nice. Hotel was nice too but a little cold. The whole thing was very reasonably priced. Under $100/night. Dinner was about $30 or so for just me; appetizer, main course, dessert.

We stopped in on our way home from New York today. I was here many years ago and it was good. Tonight it was awful. I never write reviews unless they are terrible. Fried calamari and their attempt a marinara sauce sucked, French dip was OK, and the ceasar salad was iceburg lettuce and croutons were like pebbles. The service was slow and it wasnt that crowded. Best thing they served was this wierd bread but it was pretty good. Its was many years since I was there and we would not return. Honestly could have been better satisfied at McDonalds.

My wife and I were passing through Port Jervis and stumbled on this place, LOVED IT!! It would be our favorite place, if we lived close. The menu is huge, food was amazing, and the place was fun. I highly recommend it here.

I came here for lunch with family. The menu is quite large and has a great selection. Everything I had was delicious and the service was quick and friendly.

Food was ok but the waitress show on the table only twice, even to pay was a nightmare.

They have a wonderful turkey, stuffing, cranberry sandwich called the Mae West you need to try it.

My overall experience was good, 9 out of 10 on food just because the calamari was bad but my server was great, she fixed it ASAP,ticket times on food should be improved in my opinion, but service from the servers was great, friendly and attentive I will not hold my server responsible for kitchen delays, the young lady Kiara I believe her name was Was quick with the drink orders as well , it was my first time there for a busy Sunday I think they did well, and really good Beer menu

I love this place. It’s so well done! The staff, food, and beverage choices are amazing! Just go there when you can, it’s very very good!

Stopped in for a cold beer and I do mean Coooold. They have the coldest tap beer around. Lots on tap to choose from local brew plus the national brands. Friendly waitstaff and bartender. Bar specials that I tried were Taco Tuesday bar tacos and crab cakes. Both were delicious with my coooold beer.

This review is only related to the hotel. I didnt eat in the restaurant. The people here are nice. The hotel, well, its waaay over priced for how close it is to the bed in a converted trailer I once stayed in in a remote part of Canada once. It was clean and it kept the bears away. I was really tired once I got there, but had I not been, I would have left. The building has some potential. The people are nice and the restaurant below seems popular with locals. Maybe it will be okay someday, but now it isnt.

Always good food, good drinks and most of time good service. Will be back

Lots of personality at this place and I was impressed by the draft selection. They let you have a sample of the beer before committing to a pint, which is nice. The munchies are generous in portions and delicious.

I love the outdoor seating. The food was good and the service was wonderful.

Aside from it taking an hour and a half to get our food, everyone was disappointed with their meal. The server barely made an attempt to express concern on such a long ticket time. No management came to apologize or tell us our food would be out shortly. When our food did arrive the food runners got short with one of us when they asked for mustard for their burger. Two of us ordered sandwiches that were extremely dry and the other two entrees were $20+ each had undercooked pasta. Would not recommend this restaurant. There are better options for food and service. First time experience left a big impression to not waste our time again. Would’ve been faster to go to the grocery store and cook 5 different meals at home.

My husbands prime rib was very good but my Mexican quesadilla which was a special was not very good. The ground beef was not seasoned and greasy. The service was good and she was very pleasant.

If you like a clean restaurant with vintage design, good food and service this is the place for you. Went with a group of ten people today. Everyone of us was treated special by our Waitress. Food was very delicious and the prices were just right.

The waitress stole my credit card #, charged over $400.00 bucks. I notified management. They did nothing… will always pass it along. Can’t trust this place/employees

This was exactly what we were looking for on our trip back to Maryland from Vermont. It was a great little fine. The food was great and they had a good selection of beers on tap. The room was less then 100 buck and included everything we needed for a quick overnight stay.

Great service, delicious food made to order, actually medium rare steak. I would recommend this place above all other in the area .

Charming atmosphere. Gorgeous hand carved wooden bar front. Decent portions of good food at a reasonable price. Unassuming with a vintage feel.

Food and service was Very Good, not perfect but nearly so! Example; my French onion soup much Too Salty, and my friend mentioned her dish was quite salty too, but I dont recall what she had.

YUMMY! The Food, atmosphere, and service is one of a kind. Make sure to try their assortment of breads. I would come back just for that☺️

I wish they had more options for dietary restrictions but if youre looking for a great place to take the family, this is it! Large groups can be accommodated. Prime rib night is also a favorite

Nice old fashioned hotel ambient atmosphere. Food was good. Has a tiki bar and another smaller quieter bar as well. Beautiful old building at the depot

Was seated quickly and service was great... my husband had one if the cheeseburgers - asked for medium and was cooked to perfection.. I had the mae west turkey sandwich.. was good but would have tasted better if was warm.. not a fan of cold turkey stuffng... but still tasty...Will certainly return again when back to visit family in Port Jervis...

Had a calamity Jane hamburger with French fries. Absolutely delicious. The town was hosting a car show @5pm. People were sitting in the tiki garden to eat and watch show.

How to turn a huge disappointment into a great WIN! We left the house expecting to dine at a different restaurant. When we arrived we found the place locked up tight with no indication as to why. What to do? We saw folks walking into The Erie and decided to give it a try.What a great surprise! Our waitress Amanda was just about the best, sweetest and cheeriest. The food was amazing. The included salad was perfect with great Blue Cheese dressing, the bread was scrumptious and the two entrees were tasty and plentiful.

Fun place. They have good food and a large assortment of beers on tap. Love the atmosphere.

After visiting Grey Towers of course the next move was dinner. I had visited somewhere else last year for a bite but they were closed, no matter, this was another great choice. We were warmly greeted when we walked in and seated promptly. We loved our server, she was wonderful the entire time. Tasty espresso martini... I asked if they made the jalapeño poppers in house, but it was a no, I got them anyway lol. Still good, nicely fried. I also got boneless wings with medium sauce, with white parmesean garlic on the side. Could have used more sauce on them, Im a sauce freak! The parm garlic was great, the niece agrees, she tried on her fries. She also liked her burger. He got the chopped steak, potatoes, and salad. All very good! (I borrowed some of each...But all that aside, WHOA. THE BREAD BASKET. We absolutely flipped over it! Soft, spreadable butter, with not one, or two, but THREE different delicious breads! Pumpkin bread, rolls sprinkled with poppyseed, and a cinnamon roll type sweet bread also! Id DEFINITELY go here again! Would love to sit outside next time!

Great venue! I photographed a Sweet 16 there and the place has great space and a bar for the adults. The staff are friendly as well.

1st time here live hour away but plan on going back Awesome meal & exceptional waitress. Highly recommended

Went here for the first and last time on recommendations from several friends. Unfortunately like many of the other one star reviews we had the same terrible experience with the service. We sat for 25 minutes without anyone coming to take even a drink order. Several waitresses and staff members walked by many times without even acknowledging we were there. We literally felt invisible. We walked out of the back door never to return.

I visited on Easter Sunday. They were very busy, as to be expected. Service was great. So was the food. I couldnt be happier that I chose to come here with my Grandmother for Easter. Well be back, for sure. Thanks !

Nice atmosphere. We love old hotels like these in small towns. Friendly waitress and bar staff. Big beer selection and soup was very tasty.

I spent the night in room 2. The room was small, as you could expect from a hotel this old. But the room was in good condition there was hot water the bed was comfortable, and it was very quiet all night.I ate dinner in the restaurant which was very good -- plenty of food, and a good beer selection.

We stayed in the hotel and had a very enjoyable time. Be aware that its *very* basic. Dont stay here if youre expecting the Econolodge. As others have mentioned, there is no way to beat the location, but youre making a trade off, and its inexpensive.There is free parking on the street, or a municipal lot across the street. We parked on the street and it was fine.The only complaint that I would make is that the room could have used a second chair and maybe a desk. We ended up buying a TV tray table at the Walmart across the river.We were in the bar several nights and found the other customers very friendly and the staff polite, friendly, and open. We only ate there once, but the food was wonderful.

The staff is nice. The food good, but small portions. Not that I need a 6 inch thick sandwich, but I had a pastrami reuben and there was about 3 slices of meat on it. Not going back.

My sister was visiting and we went Saturday night. I was a little suspicious of all the steaks on the menu but the waitress assured us they werent "tourist steaks" 🤣. I ordered the special and my sister ordered the NY Strip. She wasnt lying, they were delicious, and the portions were very generous, with a nice vegetable and a perfect baked potato. I am already planning my next visit. Great to have this spot right in the center of town!

Great place to get together with friends. We dined in. I had a burger it was delish. Spent under $20. The waitress was very knowledgeable on menu items. Atmosphere was appealing. I just had to take this pic. It was cool. But watch that wee step at the front door. Be sure to look down when stepping in an out.

The food was mediocre. The fish and chips tasted like it was freezer burnt, the wings had a very thick sauce that tasted from the bottle and the fries were burnt. We heard other diners receive a basket of bread, but we did not. It could have been because of the size of the party, but seemed weird. Staff was really friendly, the food just wasnt good.

There is a lot to be said for the ambiance of a place. This restaurant/hotel has it in spades. The building is beside the Erie Depot...an old railroad station of importance. I did not stay in the rooms, and it was too cold for the Tiki Bar, but the restaurant was lovely and set in the historic district of Port Jervis, beside the Delaware River, and the street is full of amazing architecture; The Erie Hotel being a focal point of it.We had appetizers: Cordon Blue Cheese Balls and the Meatball Parmigiana Sliders. I recommend the Sliders. The Cordon Blue Cheese Balls were not a favorite. Perhaps if the ham was shredded instead of chunked, we may have liked them more.Staff is super friendly!

The best meal weve had in a very long time. Everyone expects a good entree but even the baked potato was exceptional. Because we havent been out in a while we ordered the prime rib and baby back ribs. We could not have gotten a better meal at any price anywhere. If youre in the area go do yourself a favor and have dinner at the Erie hotel.

The strangest thing about this place was the server saying she would bring out some bread because the kitchen was backed up and our food would be delayed and bringing out a basket of cake instead. No joke. Sweet gooey cinnamon cake and another that seemed like a spice cake. The BF was happy with it, but I expect bread to be savory.The food is typical pub fare. The cocktails are very sweet. They have a vast selection of beers. The service was somewhat efficient if not particularly friendly.
