A very fun sports bar in North Brunswick. The team was friendly, the rooms (while open conceptare large enough that your lunch or dinner or snacks with friends wont be disturbed. Parking is plentiful. The space was well kept. Give it a try if youre in the area.
Fabulous food! Had a couple issues related to short staffing, but friendly helpful creative server!
I love this place. Even tho all the times I come since COVID kinda went away, its been too empty. Great service.
Love the food. The hours are very incorrect. They are not open until 10. The kitchen closes at 8:30 and they stop seating the dinning room at 8. We were politely told that we could sit at the bar and have a drink but we couldn’t order any food. Please fix your hours online.
My friend and I killed a Saturday here at this sports bar watching our alma matters. We each had 10 drinks, two rounds of apps and won money playing the lotto game. The bar food was really good, the legendary tenders hit the spot and pork nachos were a big platter with a lot of meat. Service was friendly and environment chill. This would be a 5 star night if bartender would’ve given us a buy back shot. We even pre-tipped some sharing our lotto winnings and had a solid bill. I don’t work in the industry but honestly expect one of drinks 8-10 to have been comped and that would’ve led to this being a go to when in the area for me. B-WWs is down the block and while this was a great experience I’d still try the other local spots as well.
Extremely disappointed with my order. According to Greene turtle online ordering system a bowl is 7.99. Figured I’d place my order with them directly instead of a third party . I looked on Grubhub, they have a cup for 4.99.To me, this picture looks like a cup. So basically Greene Turtle is charging more by stating it’s a bowl, when in reality it’s far from a bowl , and it’s a cup in reality . Not worth the money .
I went for the first time yesterday and found my new favorite spot in my neighborhood. I had the chicken quesadilla and Carne asada bowl - they were all delicious! The quesadilla was so cheesy and creamy yet crispy on the outside, so much better than certain Mexican restaurants Ive tried in my areaThe service was really great too! Ill definitely be back soonFor sports fans: Im not a big frequenter of sports bars but all the booth tables have their own little tvs! And there were tons of TVs everywhere else. They even have Amazon prime for Thursday night football so my boyfriend was happy 😊Happy hour was until 6
Natalie the best server ever!!! knows the best meals and drinks and everything at the restaurant, so humble engaging and cute. She a champ champ
i had natalie as my server and she was an awesome server she was very nice she was checking in on me frequently which i feel is very sweet of her she brought at all the right food quickly and i am very very impressed
Love their food. Crab cake sandwich was #bigtimeDidnt have Wi-Fi though, which was baffling to me for a sports bar and people have fantasy football drafts.
Enjoyed Buffalo chicken Nachos and Chicken wings. Cookies dessert sundae was perfect ending to the meal. Service was good too.
I went to the bar and was greeted by the bartender who was very nice but ended up being rather rude. After I ordered food and drinks she said she did not like me. Ask Imani why. I tipped her and killed her with kindness. I didn’t even touch the food she brought me because I was certain she spit in it. Never go again. Turtles should stay on their back
Really spectacular food and great service by both bartenders Derek and Emoni (sorry if spelled wrong). We had the world famous crab dip to start and it was so good, warm, cheesy and heart warming. I had the Grilled salmon sandwich with tots and it was sooooooo good, very simple but absolutely amazing. My boyfriend had the fat tire beer cheesesteak and loved it. They had cheese on bottom and top of the beef. He had a beer and I had my new favorite drink the boozy cheery limeade as I don’t like the taste of alcohol she made it very well. To finish off our great experience we had the monkey bread and it was so amazing, perfectly sweet and a great portion size.
Visited 8/6/22 and had a very good meal however the service was absolutely terrible. My fiance ordered a beer and was brought an incorrect one so had to wait for the correct one to be delivered. Apps came out and were great. She ordered another beer before our meal came out and waited for 20 minutes. Our meal came out without out her drink and my side order. Had to ask again for the drink. Side finally came out when I was half way through my meal. Waitress never checked to see if everything was ok after our meal was delivered. She passed our table after we were finished but never asked if we wanted to box up our leftovers or if we needed our check. She went to sit at an empty table for a while. My fiance went to talk to a manager however nothing was done. Our bill finally was delivered however it was not correct. Was really looking forward to a great evening out however the experience wasnt great.
Love this place! I visited it for the first time in July for an event. Food is delicious and the bartenders are very friendly. My bartender was especially awesome. I wish I got his name but I know we both love the podcast, Crime Junkie. Lol
The cocktails are pretty good! (Better than BWWThe food is tasty and they have some nice healthier and GF options.
Have come here in recent weeks while my son is at a hockey clinic nearby. Imani and her service at the bar is/are fantastic. She is attentive, prompt and super pleasant. Good beer selection too for those that are in to craft beer!!!
I just had the best experience from Natalie! She made sure my wife and I were taken care of the whole time and suggested our whole meal and everything was so good!! Highly suggest coming here and ask for Natalie!
Food and service was great. For the nachos ask for extra cheese felt like they were a lil stingy with it. Got extra on the side. The fish and chips were crispy and crunchy. Coleslaw smelled bad didnt try and wasnt chancing it. Went on a Saturday around 2 was maybe 6 customers in total.
I’ve only visited The Greene Turtle in Maryland, I was very surprised when I found one in New Jersey. The Crab melt sandwich was awesome and our server Natalie was pretty great too. She suggested the perfect drinks and was super attentive the entire time. I really enjoyed my time here, the patio seats were perfectly shaded and the day was jus beautiful. Highly recommend a visit to the greene turtle
My first time going and the server with bright pink hair names zöe was such a great person with amazing hospitality. Gave me a great recommendation with my meal and desert. Will come again just because of her!!!
Here is the story and you decide. On 4 June 2022 around 830 pm, I called hour ahead for table for 6 outside and employee at the restaurant said they dont take reservations. Got to the restaurant at 830 pm, asked for table for 6 outside and employee says we cant combine two tables for 4 people outside and it is going to be two different servers and two bills. We said fine, since we already there. There are 5-6 tables in row that are empty with less than 1 feet separating them. After we said okay to having two different servers and bills, the employee says it would have to be at two different locations on the outside and cant do next to each other. That was it and we left. I would never eat there or go to this establishment ever again.
Came here last night and the wings were excellent. Came here again today (purchased $75 worth of wingsand the wings were not so excellent they tasted old.I brought it to the manager Shaynes attention and was told there is nothing he can do about it, they can’t redo the amount of wings I have (20. The customer is ALWAYS right. Next time make it right.
Nice ambiance. Went around 6pm— wide range of food offered and our entrées were great. Server Mack was very kind and attentive. Restaurant was clean and well maintained. Loved the trivia game on the television.
My favorite spot in the area to go to for a nice burger and great service. I highly recommend this place for an overall great atmosphere and experience. Along w/ great burgers the loaded tots were also amazing and something I get every time I come.
We were here for a Friday dinner. There was less than a 5t minute wait as they cleaned out table. You can tell that the staffing is still low. Our food was good with a small delay in arrival. Our server, Amiyah, did an excellent job taking care of us. It was a crowded Friday night but a good overall experience.
Re-Re-reviewing after being here a few more (moretimes. First time was a one star. Then got much better, and now slid backwards.Service here has dropped significantly. Can never get drinks quickly. Place is dirty again. Got sat twice at dirty tables in the last month. 9/21-10/21The mix drinks have significantly weakened. Not worth the money. Its a great beer and shot place but dont waste your money on weak drinks.Burgers have also slid backwards. Messy not tasty. Really sad this changed; it had gotten so much better. I have to always ask for no salt on fries because otherwise theyre just way over salted.Re-re-re writing. Cant say I didnt try. Today the service was great at the bar. Footdwas great and accurate. 3/5/21. At this point its a permanent 3 stars because its just not consistent enough. Used to be 4+.
First timer . Came with a friend and we were just awe’d with the space and internal space in this sports bar. Tables are spaced with social distancing into consideration .. service was great. They are really quick in taking care of you . Lots and. Lots of parking available .They have good options on the tap. Had blue moon and it was just awesome ! There are IPAs on the tap too . 🍺. There was happy hours but it’s only from 3-6 pm. We went 30 mins after, and couldn’t make use of that offer. Ordered wings. Food was ok. Wings was a little dry and I didn’t enjoy it much . That’s why the 4 stars . If not for the wings , we enjoyed it. Thumbs up 👍
I say Never Judge a Book by its Cover, well I was Totally in Awe when I walked inside this Establishment. But its Totally now a Different Story when I received my food, and was charged for it, Unbelievable. I ordered the two crabmeat, with fries and coleslaw, well let me start off that cxc when I got my food, my mouth dropped, not because of the food, but how it was served. It was served on parchment paper that was in a metal basket that had square holes, it was very loose, no coleslaw at all in sight, try cuuting the crabcake and you got piece of the paper do to how moist or should I say wet the cake was, the knife going into the square holes, like are you kidding me. For $22 it should of been way Better then the presentation that I was given. Noway, my daughter is like Ma forget it, I told her some Choice Words, called our server and told her that this was Unacceptable. She left and returned with that it will be about 15 minutes, I told her okay, Whatever. Well folks the 2nd dish of Crabcakes were only a dab better by now Im so frustrated that I asked for a doggie bag, and that was being polite, never again will I even try to eat there again. You know first impression is the Best Impression. How about I replied to the Owneres request to reach out. Ive done so, left a message and to Today hasnt Responded to my response to which he has left me, if that sounds ok, its been a few weeks now. People say anything to look good for their Establishment.
I came here because I was curious to What is the hype was about at this place. I can say the Melt was delicious but the Dip was a little too salty especially with the pretzel sticks. All and all I would come back to try something different. Im curious to taste the other food they have.
Such a good experience tonight!! Our hostess was welcoming & quick to seat us. Our waiter, Stef, was so accommodating & offered excellent service. Our meals were delicious and a great price. Plenty of free parking. We left very happy!
We went to the Green Turtle last night. The food was delicious. We ordered a Cesar salad and a Chicken Cesar wrap. For appetizers we tried the boneless wings and pretzels with the flat tire beer cheese. The salad and wrap tasted great. The pretzels were warm and the cheese was delicious. I wish they’d fill the cheese container a little more. The wings were ok. The Garlic Parmesan wings didn’t really taste like Garlic or Parmesan. The BBQ wings tasted ok, but the wing meat was a little dry. When we first arrived we were greeted promptly, seated and given menus. After that we waited 20+ mins - no wait staff acknowledged us, or came to take our drink order. We flagged down a waitress and she took our order. After that the service improved slightly. I expect they are short staffed so I don’t want to rate too harshly. Normally I’d say it was a 2-3. I rated it a 4 because we did enjoy the food when we received it.In a bar setting it’s important to make sure you check in with your tables and keep people’s drinks filled, especially when ordering alcohol. Lack of attentiveness frustrates patrons and impacts a restaurants bottom line. There wasn’t a lot of people in the restaurant so it looked like a lack of hustle or wait staff was distracted. We saw other tables wave to try and get multiple waitresses attention as well. We saw the same type of service when trying a Green Turtle in Delaware pre-COVID-19, so I’m not sure if it is a training issue or lack of managers present.
Great appetizers, Hog Hammers Basket is amazingly good. Drink specials during Happy Hour. Service was very friendly. I will be returning for more Crab dip with pretzels and hog hammer pork shanks.
Cool sports bar, enough space between the high tops, great pick your own music system. We had a plain cheeseburger with tater tots and the TY cobb salad, which includes: Grilled chicken breast, bacon, tomato, cucumber, hardboiled egg and crumbled bleu cheese (I left the last one out). With our burger and salad we shared a drink, for charity, a portion of proceeds benefit the Sea Turtle ConservancyThe drink comes served in a (plastic!turtle shell which you are alowed to take home as a souvenir. The Hurricane drink consists of Cruzan Aged Light Rum, Southern Comfort, Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice, Lime Sour, Grenadine.Resume, great place to relax, enjoy your favorite music, food and drinks while giving something back to mother nature, Win Win Win!
12/23 - Do not get the blackened chicken quesadilla. I repeat do not waste your money on the chicken quesadilla.I was so disappointed in the quesadilla at the N Brunswick location. It was small, the chicken was beyond dry and the was barely any cheese (check out the pic). The hubby was please with his chicken nuggets and fries, the fish nuggets, and the crab dip with pretzels were yummy.
This a sports bar style restaurant. Personally, I tried their pretzels & Buffalo wings for appetizers. I like them better than Buffalo Wild Wings. We had Chesapeake burger, crab cakes, chicken tacos, BBQ pork.... Its pretty solid and also delicious. Not expensive and great service..... We sat indoors but the venting is very good. A safe environment to dine in at this Pandemic time. A+
This is the sixth time in the last week and a half that I’ve eaten at this place unfortunately this is also the third time that my order has been screwed up. I should have pulled it out of the bag opened up and verified that everything was right before leaving. Don’t even know what to say when you ask for Swiss cheese and this is what you get. Apparently they’re just too busy to get it right. I probably shouldn’t have gone back after the first time that they messed up but I thought I would give them a second chance and then I should’ve verified last night before I left that I was given silverware and given everything that I ordered. This is the 3rd strike, but then again it was also up to me to open the bag and verify that everything was right. I guess I just don’t ever go back.
I love the food here. great music, food and service!
Not bad. Service was a little slow probably a function of Sunday afternoon football. TVs are well spread out. Good seating.
First time we’ve ever visited a Greene Turtle, we were here to photograph the Courtyard by Marriott next door and wanted to try it out. Food was amazing! Definitely will look for more of these in the future!
Definitely built as a sports bar TVs all around with familiar sports bar food wings and all. I wished it was more of a seafood place with a sports bar twist. The only thing really like that on the menu is a Burger with crab dip on it. Which is delicious they also have drink specials like mule Monday’s which are $5 with a choice of their chosen brand of vodka, whiskey and I believe rum. I had the maple jalapeño wings which were fried hard and smothered in sauce which is how I like my wings. The bar has a decent selection of beer nothing too fancy but it’ll get you through a sporting event. The service was on point no complaints there. The area is up and coming a target build there a few years ago and recently a hotel and luxury housing complex and they’re still building.
Hubby and I have been here a few times and each time has been good. Welcomed at the door and able to find seats at the bar easily. Bartenders and servers are attentive and very pleasant. Burgers, Crab Dip and Fries are very good! No complaints 👍🏽
Nice beach place to grab a burger and sweet potato fries. Usually decent service but when super busy in peak summer months it can be sketchy. They send you a text when your table is ready (not sure why more restaurants don’t do it that way). They have outdoor upstairs balcony seating on the beachfront with beautiful sunsets, but sometimes the birds can be too aggressive.
This is a pretty cool spot with great ties to its local communities. The "greene" actually stands for green, as in energy and recyclable contious. The decor is pretty similar to most sports bars but this place boasts at least 20 tvs showing all different games. The food here is traditional American bar food, but it hits the spot. With boneless wings and buildable burgers seems pretty simple but the food packs tons of flavor, ofcourse the tater tots are a must!!! Stop in for a quick bite or a full sit down dinner with the family and you wont regret it!
Typical chain restaurant. Terrible experience. Id avoid and eat at any other chain restaurant. The will be a long version is below. The hostesses had no idea what tables were available or not and werent communicating with each other. Hostess 1 seemed disorganized. She had to constantly check the dining room between parties. Hostess 1 tells me there are no tables only high tops at the bar. We elect to wait for a table or booth. Hostess 2 returns and seats a table of 2 who was right behind us at a table which was open when we got there. Hostess 2 tries to find us the next table. Meanwhile hostess 1 returns and talks to a friend. We are seated fairly quickly and had wait about a 15 mins to be greeted by a server. We order immediately and our food arrives quickly but I get the wrong sandwich. My warning was in the wrong sandwich, a chicken cheese steak. It looked like an oversized hot dog bun with 2 slices of a American melted in it. I couldnt see the meat. The correct order of Fleet Street Chicken and a Chicken Chesapeake Sandwich is fixed in minutes. The Fleet Street Chicken appeared small due to size of the chicken breasts which seemed tiny compared to other restaurants. As well the Fleet Street Chicken was salty, really salty. I couldnt taste a anything else in the dish other than salt. We could only eat one of the two.The Chicken Chesapeake sandwich was small as well especially when compared to the price. Id say about the size of a grilled McDonalds chicken sandwich on an even smaller potato roll. Due to the small size of the roll all the crab dip and other toppings ran out the sides when you grabbed it.Neither dish was filling and we ended up snacking at home.Granted we didnt complain about it so they wasnt anything they could do but I dont think there was much they could fix size-wise.Even if I wanted to complain there wasnt a manager on the floor to be found.I think you can do get better food or service at almost any other chain or independent restaurant for the price.
First time here. Plenty of dining room seating (booths, tables, high tops, and bar seating). Big selection of beers and mixed drinks. Restaurant is based out of Maryland according to server so many crab theme dishes. Fried onion ring for appetizer was delectable. Ordered Chesapeake burger with crab dipping. Delighted by my entree. Server very attentive and stopped by regularly to check in. 9.6/10
We have been to The Greene Turtle quite a few times shortly after they opened and experienced some growing pains. However, yesterday (Nov 12, 2017we hosted our sons third birthday party here and were blown away. We booked the party with one of the managers Tony and were able to email with him about the menu and any questions we had about the party. On the day of the party, we were able to show up as early as 10:30AM to work on the table layout and set up for our party. Mark was in an out of the party checking on us but we had two dedicated servers (I wish I remembered their nameswho were AMAZING. Both checked on me and my husband constantly to make sure we had everything we needed for the party, were eating food, had drinks, when the next round of food was being served, etc. It was a great experience for hosting a party with over 50 people. Our sons party was music themed so the BEST thing for us was being able to use the Apple TV to play music videos from an iPad. We had a little trouble with pairing but with the manager on duty, Mark, and my brother (who is an IT guy by professionthey were able to get it working beautifully. The audio quality was also spectacular. The other two smaller TVs we left with the afternoons football game on.We also got a lot of compliments on the food quality (including the cake we ordered from Pierres Bakery in South Brunswick).Additional things that lent to the great experience:*They have a massive private room (holds about 70 people easilyand theres no fee for it.*There are games ($1 per game/roundin a room/area off the private room that can be included with your party or not. We were given $25 in credits for the skeeball machines (there are twobut the credits did not work in the basketball or beer pong (no beer, just ball tossing into solo cups). The kids loved these games and we ended up spending about $50 in singles for our kid guests for the games.*Also included were giant connect four and jenga - these are floor games so no charge but the kids loved it.*The private room has its own access to the bar and bartenders.*There are three (1 very large and two smallertelevisions in the private room.*Bring your own cake and theyll even keep it refrigerated for you.*Bring your own decorations and decorate.
pretty good sports bar! got the happy hour prices for appetizers so that was nice. really enjoyed the dip w kettle chips and fried mozzarella, chicken strips were ok
Decent food. Ok price. The free refills on the drinks were so nice. (Lemonade and iced tea mix with fruitspeople like peach flavor more but I personally like the strawberry. I do feel that they are little short on staff since some people asked us something like drinks and refill but they never came back with it. Our server was on point though so I dont have much complain.
Great place to sit talk and eat. They have a game room for kids and adults. Staff was helpful the whole time. Only thing we had a big party and our food came out cold. Heated up the food the next day and it was good. I would return but not with a big party.
