Awesome place to hang out at Castlemaine. There is a lake and a botanical garden right opposite the Mill Park. There are options for good, antique shopping and lot more. Parking is no hassle. Ample of parking available inside and outside the property. Nice and clean place to relax and eat. You might enjoy the rustic and ancient look of the property. Had a fun time. Would recommend to take detour and visit this place if you are travelling between Melbourne and Bendigo.

I went to Castlemaine yesterday for a day trip, mainly to the Artist Market. A stall owner recommended I go to the Mill if I had time. What a pleasant surprise! I enjoyed a couple of hours there, have spread words among my friends and will visit again and stay a bit longer next time.

What a find! Handmade chocolates, artisan cheeses, a Viennese bistro with delicious food, excellent service and divine decor, and one of the best vintage markets I have ever been to (Platform 5).

The markets at The Mill in Castlemaine are truly an eclectics dream.Set up inside the old mill, there are a huge number of stalls, and its easy to spend a full afternoon wandering in wonder at the treasures.Plenty of car parking, but be advised its not sealed.Easy wheelchair access in and out - and around- the place.Kid friendly.Inside toilets.

I had my 60th birthday there yesterday, a Monday, with my family and it was wonderful. Fabulous, considerate waiters and food perfect for many tastes and a freezing winters day at Das Kaffeehaus..

If you like vintage stuff (trash & treasure some might call it), an Austrian themed Cafe (Das Kaffeehaus), Chocolaterie, Artisan Cheese, ice creamery with whimsical flavours, original artwork with artists onsite, Brewery, retail winery & an organic vegie shop - this is the place to visit. Each of these retail space is interconnected with entries from outside & within. Well sign-posted to find your way around. So different from other regional Mill markets which usually only have the vintage part with a basic Cafe thrown in. The vintage building faces the large carpark & is quite big. Located opp. the Botanical Gardens- so you can happily spend a few hours around this area. The yesteryear hot air balloon basket is pretty interesting as is the Japanese clothing & 1800s replica Samurai armoury (Darth Vaders visage must have been inspired by the Samurai helmet!)Come prepared with your insulated cooler bag with ice bricks - Castlemaine has great fresh produce & monthly markets esp. on weekends.

My favourite spot in Castlemaine. There is something special about walking in history and experiencing the present at the same time. What a great idea to allow local industry and businesses to rent these creative spaces.

Located just opposite Castlemaine botanic garden, the Mill Castlemaine is a creative hub which offers a wide range of shops with different collectible and unique goods. Lots of vintage clothes, hand-made jewelry/deco items, household items, furniture, etc. They have a common area with benches to sit down and relax. Even got a table tennis there for you to play. Public toilets are clean too.Loads of off street car park in the area. There are some wall art works in this hub, also some cafeteria and brewery too to offer good food and drinks. We went on Australia day, so there are 10% surchage for food + drinks. Some shops were closed though but still worth the visit.Free to entry the Mill Castlemaine.Highly recommended if you are in the area. Can spend hours here.

This is a fantastic collection of vintage booths all in one big location. I found some quality second hand clothes. They also had a large selection of crockery, furniture, vinyls, toys and knick knacks. They also have change rooms so you can try clothes on before buying.

The Mill is mad .... far too many things to see and feel . Youll only come back for another look SO dont worry too much you can buy that weird statue and take it home next time ... interesting place to bump into people AND things appear reasonably well priced .... l left last time with a Tibetan Shirt and a Japanese Utility Knife - essential ingredients for life on lifes terms . All the people who worked there were cool ....

The Mill get a MILLion stars. There are plenty of pokestops if youre into that sort of thing, as well as a million or less producers on site. Not like the hit movie, and not producers like they make movies. Instead rather they make moves, in the right direction. Direct your friends here for a million different reasons of which I will list insufficiently. Coffee roasters, Wine Makers, Beer Brewers, Chocolate makers, Ice cream makers, art dooers, metal people, ducks, 🦆 I definitely saw a few ducks, not a million, true, but, where was I,,, omg theres a whole market that is like a million op-shops under one glorious roof. Theres a huge furniture imported from Quebec. I did make that last one up.Im getting the wind up now, so Ill leave you with the words of a wise man, Phil, who runs the whole show at the Mill, he said "no Lifon, you may not have a quote from me for your review of the Mill for Google"Good times. A million times.

Definitely worth a wander around. You could easily spend a whole afternoon sifting through the vast amounts of vintage items. We bought a few things, and browsed the food stalls. Worth noting that on a hot day, theres little to no air-con but plenty of shade.

A mish-mash of shop & stalls. It was easy to get lost in this sprawling old wool shed.I seemed to be walking from one side to the other in a maze of side alleys & undercover walkways. I didn’t really know what the place was all about. I am only guessing that it was a group of individually run “places” all over the wool shed. Everything from a restaurant, which was closing when we arrived there at about 4pm. To an ice cream shop, amazing ice creams by the way, to a local produce shop, then a huge secondhand area. A bakery that I stumbled on, and bought bagels. Then “over there” was a brewery where warm mediocre beer was served. The layout was very confusing.

The highlight of our trip to Castlemaine! The vintage selection of clothes and homewares was excellent and the prices vary so you can find something to suit your budget. I scored a pair of 1980s sunnies for $18 that are $200 elsewhere online. Yay! Lots of quirky pieces too. The food and drink options are fab. We loved the Minim wine tasting and took home three bottles

Brought a shirt to the counter with 2 prices. $25 on one tag and $4 on the other. Manager was called and rather abruptly told me that the unbranded $4 tag is ‘obviously ‘ from an op shop. 2 issues here. 1. Terrible customer service , I think sorry was the word that skipped her mind. 2. As someone who has owned a 2nd hand clothing store that mark up is way too high. Caught out peeps ! Also selling basic used converse for $65 which go for $10-15 in op shops.

Love making the trip to The Mill - what a great find this place is! Lots of treasures in the bazaar, great brewery and ice creamery on site. Cafe serves delicious treats and wonderful coffee. Resident artists selling their wares! Really enjoy checking out the store containing amazing Japanese wares, kimonos and antiques.... the owner has a real eye for beauty. Great way to spend the afternoon and we keep coming back!

Very large warehouse that used to be a factory, but is now converted into a market that sells second hand items. Many interesting retro items, particularly if you are into collecting particular things. Will definitely come back if we are looking for something special in a renovation or move to an older style house. The Austrian cafe in the same complex was really good as well.

Wow. As collectors of retro and vintage this has to be the most impressive market we’ve seen so far. Great atmosphere with musics and friendly staff and literally thousands of items to wade through. Good coffee and amenities. Happy we spent some money there and can’t wait to go back again.

The Mill precinct gets two stars; the tenants get four stars. This is a former industrial site made good enough for tourist tenancies. Just good enough. Nothing unbearable and nothing fabulous.Tenants include a delightful Bavarian cafe, art, chunky hand made furniture, a second hand store that had only items that were very good quality of their time.

A very nice eatery in this complex and a big 2nd hand goods market and a couple of smaller gallery type operations. The galleries carry good quality items. The vintage market which has multiple traders has some bargains and some outrageously overpriced sellers as well. It is very cold in the market on a cold day - the roof is not lined and there is no heating. The cafe is nice and warm.

The Mill is a growing venue with room for a few more tenants. What is there already is fun and lively. Lots of artsy sellers and things to eat.
