A deep dive into an important action during Gettysburg. From here, Union sharpshooters slowed the advance of Hood’s confederates as they advanced towards Big Round Top and Devils Den.
An interesting battle of the U.S. Sharpshooters where the 2nd US Sharpshooters were set on a skirmish line and ended up in the path of Col. William Oates and the 15th Alabama. They battled from here back to Little Roundtop slowing the Confederate attack on the Union flank just long enough for the line to be reinforced on the left by the 2nd Maine.
Gettyburg is a city of pure mystery.
Very eerie feeling at the Slyder Farm. One of the more secluded areas of the battlefield. Requires a short hike to get to.
Location of Farnsworths Cavalry Charge, July 3, 1863 - Gettysburg National Military Park.
A beautiful farm in the Gettysburg National Park.
