Decent Cafe with a decent menu choice. We had Ham, Egg & Chips and the Ham was of very high quality. Might have given 5 stars, but staff were hoovering and hinting that it was time for us to leave.
Superb breakfast, freshly cooked to order. Will be back soon for more.
Always break our journey to visit the Strand . Alway busy, most locals what better recommendation for wonderful home cooking.
Really lovely ladies very welcoming had a party of 7 adults 2 kids and 3 dogs (well behaved kids and dogsservice was fantastic, food fantastic and overall deserves 6 stars
Called for a quick light lunch; the cheese and onion toasties was superbly cooked with a generous garnish of crisps and salad. Together with a piping hot mug of tea served by a friendly waitress it was an altogether pleasant experience.
Excellent service, warm and welcoming. Food great, and the food we had was homemade.
35-40 minutes wait for breakfast. When asked for our cup of tea this came late as well. Advertising free tea and toast. Toast didn’t arrive. When asked didn’t even return with an answer. Won’t be recommending. No apology
Cosy little café, nice food and friendly staff. Fried bread in the breakfast was amazing.
Really good breakfast. Nice decor. Clean. Good food, very reasonably priced. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Absolutely beautiful. Really friendly staff, delicious food with decent sized portions and not to costly on the wallet. Will definitely be coming back again
Fantastic food, great service, made a family of five so welcome. The special board had that home made touch. The lamb burger was so tasty. Thanks guys
Having noticed the Strand looked a nice place the previous day we went for a bacon buttie after parkrun, was surprised how expensive it was and although it wasnt too long a wait, the bacon was just bits, not in rashers and a bit chewy. Coffee was just ok. Didnt really want salad and crisps, just a better buttie would have been more acceptable. We didnt say anything at the time, maybe should have but the parking ticket was close to expiring and couldnt really have spent much more time there. looking at the menu a full breakfast would have been much better value but hey ho, we learn by experience.
Very clean, nice place to eat. We had a cooked lunch which was quick to arrive and nicely presented by very pleasant staff. Good atmosphere here. Prices very reasonable. Will definitely call again. Thank you.
I spent an hour in the Strand Cafe during a backpacking trip. The food was okay, but nothing more than that. The staff doesnt seem to know how to smile and my empty plate was looked at many times, but none of the staff felt the need to take it away. Ive had worse and better lunch experiences.
Excellent. Ordered two breakfast and it was on the table within 5 minutes. The Bacon was really thick and good quality. Lovely place, nice and peaceful.
Had the Strand breakfast and it was delicious. Staff helpful & pleasant. Didnt have to wait too long even though cafe was busy. Food lovely & hot. Bonus its dog friendly too.
Very friendly good prices.very welcoming dogs allowed to. food great as well
Visited here recently whilst on a training course in Builth Wells. Missing this place already, loved the warm and cosy welsh cafe experience so much I will surely one day have to travel back just for the pies, ate here on various occasions as was excellent value, for some of the best home cooked classic dishes I can remember eating in Wales. The Strand Cooked breakfast was also a super tasty, with excellent standard of sausages and bacon. Next time I’m passing South Wales will definately be stopping over in this wonderful little town for in my opinion the best cooked breakfast in South Wales!
Best breakfast Ive had in a long time. Very tasty and plenty of it.
We stopped here on the way from Wrexham to Cardiff, for Brunch. We both had the all day breakfast. The bacon was to die for, really thick slices from a local high st butchers, perfectly cooked. The downstairs was quite full, but the service was fast, friendly and efficient. The wait for the food was exactly what you would expect from freshly cooked food. Well done The Strand, we’ll be back.
Very friendly cosy groundfloor cafe with upstairs restaurant. Good varied menu. Lots of homemade foods. Prices very reasonable We had a lovely breakfast including hot drink and extra toast. Lovely bacon and sausage. All for under £6
On a wet & windy flooded kind of day our visit for breakfast was a welcome break on our journey from the Valleys to Snowdonia. Fantastic value for money, great friendly service and the best ever bacon. So good was the bacon, we went straight to their butcher around the corner and bought some for our cottage holiday 😀
Only stayed for a coffee, it was a very nice coffee, staff were very friendly, and also provided water for our dogs to have a drink too. There was a good atmosphere. If we wanted more there was a good choice on the menu
We stopped here on our way from Nantwich to Pontypridd. Not having booked anywhere to stay we mentioned the fact to the very friendly staff and they went out of their way to Google it for us. Not only delicious scones, tea and coffee but the staff were so friendly and helpful and more than willing to help us find a hotel. We will certainly visit again on our next trip to UK.
