Tommys Rock Lookout in Glen Innes Severn

Amazing...well worth the drive

Amazing lookout but the track up isnt for the faint hearted. If you are unlucky enough to meet someone coming the other way I hope youre good at reversing. Very narrow track with about 150 large erosion humps, allow at least an hour return, possible longer.

Tommys rock used to be an amazing slice of wilderness that felt like you were in nature and at its whim, now they destroyed the natural face of the mountain so people could feel safe and have a rail compleatly disregarding the fragile ecosystem that was there long before people, if you dont want to fall off a cliff looking at nature stay home nature shouldnt have to bend to what tourists want,let alone the disgrace that barely anyone who visits it actually know why its called Tommys rock.

Great lookout with an interesting history. 4x4 track or a lighter motorcycle than mine and maybe a bit more skill! Worth the little adventure up the hill!

Was a challenge to get to but well worth it. Amazing panoramic views and a sense of reliving history. Just beautiful!

By far our favourite lookout! Only 4wd accessible. A lot of cutaways on the track to minimise errosion which means a lot of ups and downs on the track. Not for a weak stomachIG @lostboyaussieadventures

Beautiful spot, road in is very good. You do not need high clearance to go in here. I standard 4x4 would be sufficient didnt need to use 4 wheel drive at all going up. Lots of dips and rises built into the road to limit water damage, makes it like being on a boat going up big rolling waves every 15 metres for the whole road up.

You definitely need a strong 4wd to drive with high clearance to get up here but the view is amazing.

Fantastic view of the surrounding area. Difficult to get there. Will require serious 4wd with low range.
