What an amazing facility, literally in the middle of nowhere, and the restaurant serves some very high quality food, and the staff are also very friendly, helpful with a smile on their faces.

Lovely place to stay although make sure you stay when restaurant is open. Very enjoyable food.

God.We stayed for an overnight trip and enjoyed a beautiful meal in the elms restaurant!It is fairly reasonably priced and absolutely worth every dollar!Their rooms are also very clean , spacious and tidy.Their ticker box cider is also AMAZING!Complements to all staff.We 100% would make the trip back for just their food alone!10/10 would recommend.

Room was very comfortable and nicely appointed. Our hosts were lovely and made us feel welcome. Christmas in July dinner in the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Checking in and out was easy to do. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Unexpected gem of a motel. Visited Tumbarumba for the first time and it was so lovely to see the autumn trees outside my motel room windows. Loved the large room, the country town elements of authenticity and care from the staff, and the loveliness of the town itself - all these aspects made a memorable impression. The motel also has an outstanding restaurant on-site, that easily surpasses many fine restaurants Ive dined in. Highly recommended.

Good location , comfortable clean and tidy , great heating.

Calling us to say we needed to be there by 4pm? we never got told that, because he wanted to close the office. We were on out bikes riding across the snowy mountains.The guy was a grumpy old man

Ive stayed 3 times. The rooms were fine they were clean, although after hearing management talk to very young staff about there ability i was surprised. It was pricey at $180 for 1 adult plus 3 under 13 but comfortable and close to town. I found my interactions with management, strange, i would not stay again.

usually don’t write reviews about country town restaurants as I have luke-warm expectations, but this was such a lovely experience that it needs acknowledgement! Great food, perfectly balanced service that would be at home in any high-end city restaurant and made us immediately welcome and at ease. Perfect in all essential details. And the waitress even had the same name as me and carried off any confusion charmingly.

OK, so this post will be a long one because it is difficult to do justice to the service that we received.Jessica took our booking and she could not have been more friendly or helpful.The room was clean and tidy but there was a stale unpleasant smell in the bathroom that permeated the room.We were going to have dinner in a local pub but decided on Elms Restaurant instead. We are so glad that we did.I will start by saying that whatever Anastasia is paid it should be doubled. Friendly and helpful does not begin to describe her personality and work ethic. She made a very pleasant evening exceptional. Julie was mostly serving other tables but she was also friendly and helpful.The foodPortion size was perfect and all courses were delicious.I had bugs as an entree with a medium rare steak and blue cheese sauce for a main and sticky date pudding with coffee. The steak was cooked perfectly and the blue cheese sauce was a perfect accompaniment. The skill shown was in the sauce. Blue cheese sauce can tend to be overpowering unless it it is subtle. This sauce was perfect.My wife had baked camenbert for an entree with bugs on a prawn gnocchi for main and chocolate blueberry pudding for desert. All of which was delicious but the stand out skill was in the gnocchi.It is very easy for gnocchi to turn into little balls of clay, especially when in a thick sauce. Not so here. The gnocchi held its shape and was still light and firm. Perfect.So, apart from Anastasia and Julie qudos goes to Ethan and Lilly in the kitchen for their excellent work. The Moreton Bay bugs and mains were prepared by Ethan and Lilly prepared the deserts.Country motels are all pretty standard but what sets the Tumbarumba Motel apart from the rest is the quality of the service and meals in Elms Restaurant.Next time in Tumbarumba I will be staying here.

The staff are great to deal with and we love what they are doing to the restaurant and clean and tidy rooms. Dave and Pam make this place a family friendly stay. And they have a great set up to lock you bikes away when you do the Rail Trail ride from Tumbarumba to Rosewood ride. See you soon guys!!

Nice clean motel, and good hot showers.Unfortunately the bed was like a trampoline quite uncomfortable, not want I was after having done the rail trail.3/5 Its Ok

Room was a bit dated, spa was old and cramped, the caps on the jets kept popping off. Not a lot of options for breakfast.

Tidy and clean with nice views overlooking a park pleased that being on a hill the windows could be opened for fresh air most accommodation the windows are bolted firmly shut not allowing you to open them in the between Seasons. Staff are nice people

Had a midweek meal with family and was suprised when it took an hour for our meal to arrive. The lamb shanks were broiled and dry but the g.f. options were great.

I really like Tumbarumba Motel everything you need without the big price tag. Great restaurant with cosy lounge area for a drink plus enough more to park a large vehicle.

It was very clean & extremely comfortable with good size rooms.

The Elms Restaurant is definately a place we would come back too. Pork belly was superb with the crunchiest crackling and the lamb shanks were huge and succulent. Sticky date pudding was the bomb.

Basic motel with basic facilities. All clean in the rooms and well presented if a little dated. The managers however are very friendly and helpful. Overall a positive experience and I would stay again.

The Elms Restaurant is top notch. Great waitstaff & amazing great value food. Three lovely courses for 2 for $100. The night we were there they obviously got caught out by a lot of customers so food was a bit slow. But staff were great & the wait well worth it.

Ate at the restaurant two nights in a row just so I could sample more of their food. Some of the best food Ive eaten. Nicely decorated restaurant, nice staff and did I mention incredible food. Steamed vegetable dumplings, arancini, lamb shanks and the banoffee my favourite picks.

The staff are very good the rooms are clean the meals are excellent, it is in a good location. It just makes you fill like home. I will definitely stay there again when I visit Tumbar. 😊

Robyn and her family at the Tumba Motel pulled of a miracle for my team while we deployed there during the Bush fire emergency. Under great pressure with no staff and a dodgy electrical supply, she feed, watered and provided a rest area for us. Thanks heaps hardly conveys our appreciation. 👍

My Partner and I stayed at the Tumbarumba Motel for 2 nights for a wedding in Batlow and we absolutely loved every second of it! From the relaxed and warm welcome we felt we knew the woman who welcomed us in for years. The rooms are great and the restaurant is a must! Cant wait to come back and stay again!

RESTAURANT REVIEW:Food was excellent, all three courses for my colleague and I were great.The Steak was a stand out; great quality meat and cooked perfectly medium rare. If you are an avid steak eater you know how hard it is to get this right.The local wine was quite good too, I hadnt tried anything from this region but the Merlot was very smooth. Staff were great also, would definitely return.

Very awesome pub to stay at. The rooms are reasonably priced and the food and portions are more then enough!

Great rooms nice and spacious but was not told on booking the rate was only 1 person and had too pay extra for the 2 of us to stay even though there was 2 x queen beds in room. One staff member was very rude when checking in.

Dining at the Elms restaurant was much better expected. The slighty adventerous menu was matched by well prrsented and delicious meals. Lovely view out over the creek and park.

If you judge a motel on comfy beds and hot showers with plenty of water pressure, then the Tumbarumba Motel meets your expectations!!The executive king size room is just that, it’s huge. Room 14 was ours, and it had a pretty private view with a massive willow overlooking the park.The Elms Restaurant serves great food, for two of us, entrees and mains plus a couple of beers and spirits was about $100. So pretty good I think for the area.Other eateries are in town, all of a 300m stroll.The motel is near clean and tidy, rooms prettying much soundproof, and modern.Reception is fast and friendly.It’s a great place to use as a base to explore the area, go to the museum and info centre to get maps.All in all, a top place.Remember, book direct with reception at the motel. Don’t use those other sites who charge fees and commissions, that end up overseas. It’s good to support local motels directly!

Clean, warm room with a great heater. Relaxed staff. Comfy bed and a good shower. Good wifi. Located away from main roads so car noise wont keep you up. Good place.

The committee of our Jerrabomberra Probus Club chose this venue for an overnight stay to enjoy Christmas in Winter at the Elms Restaurant on 2nd August.Twenty two of our members arrived in a bus and it was clear by the warmth of Robyn’s welcome that here was an establishment focused on customer satisfaction.The cleanliness and facilities provided in the spacious accommodation were of the highest order, and the food, service and cooperation of Robyn and her staff in the Elms Restaurant left nothing to be desired.Best wishes and thanks for a memorable experience.

A lovely motel in the centre of town. They were very accommodating to us arriving late and it is well priced for large, clean, comfortable rooms.

Clean rooms, central heating good until you have a storm and the power goes off for 5 hours. Country feel with cows letting in field next door, may have been upset by storm too.

I stayed at the Motel on the weekend and found the hosts and staff to be very friendly and courteous, nothing was to much trouble. My room was comfortable and spacious with central heating. We dined in the Elms Restaurant which was a big surprise for a country motel. I would certainly recommend this motel to anyone and will stay again.
