Didnt get mail and called the post office was put on hold 20 minutes and the supervisor was to say the least rude she was nasty and said we did get mail i told her the out going mail has been in box for several days she then said there was a family emergency that day hanover post office is the worst of the worst and they dont care they get paid either way

Wish could give zero stars!!! No one there knows how to pick up a telephone. The hold my packages hostage for 2 days when they arrive before decide to deliver them. Wont allow to come pick them up and give false information of when will be delivered. Worst Post Office in the country!!!

Not receiving my mail but misdelivered from here has become the norm. An important, time sensitive legal document showed on my daily digest but not delivered. Daily digest is pretty much useless except to see what youre supposed to receive, but nothing is done when you report missing mail. I dont think its the employees as much as we tend to blame them, but when my address is clearly stated on the item and its misdelivered, Im sorry but someone isnt paying attention!

Already had two Christmas presents returned to sender. USPS did not leave a notice asking me to come pick package up. Any time I order a gift, I have to worry if the USPS is shipping it that I wont receive it. Plus, they do not pick up their phone when you call the office.

If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. This post office is assigned to my location only on Sundays. ANYTIME I have a delivery on a Sunday, the person wont even attempt to deliver it, he/she automatically lists it as "Animal Interference" and then wont deliver it. I am beyond fed up with this. This person needs to be fired. They obviously dont care about doing their job correctly.

I just had to clean up mail for my apartment building that was blown away because the mail carrier didnt even bother putting it in the mailboxes. Peoples court summons, bills, family letters.. All picked up off the street because the post office in Hanover is such a joke they just throw the mail where ever and hope the best. No wonder its brought up so much to defund them. Its a literal joke at this point. Id rather have my stuff delivered by UPS/Fedex then deal with USPS. Anytime I order anything I cringe when i see USPS has it.

Employees are not wearing masks correctly or not at all. I watched them wipe their nose with their hand and then help customers. Also eating at the counter and then helping customers. No hand washing.

Apparently They deleted my old comment about how their workers are throwing away peoples stimuluss checks and joking about it. Ive contacted the inspecting office that over sees them was contacted with video proof.

Very poorly ran, with no accountability. The staff here, delivery personnel especially, for the most part have no care for the mail and packages they deliver, and clearly don’t care about their chosen profession. Various issues from this specific post office include:1Postal delivery personnel throwing packages at the residence from halfway into the yard vs respectfully placing them at the door, no concern for the packages and no attempt at professionalism; with multiple packages damaged due to the lack of care.2Fraudulent marking of packages as “delivered” when not delivered. IE: Marked as delivered at 1207am on a Tuesday, then not actually delivered until the next day at 603pm. This is a clear fraudulent attempt to prevent the USPS from being held liable for insured packages delivered past the guarantee date.3Missed delivery times. On multiple occasions items are “out for delivery” then not actually delivered until 3-4 days later.4Destroyed mail: local mail shipped from the next town is at not placed in the mailbox, but instead thrown on the street with no care by the delivery worker.5Incorrect deliveries: Despite all mailboxes being numbered, we frequently get our neighbors mail and vice-versa. Packages are often also delivered to the wrong house, despite all houses being clearly marked and numbered.There are some workers who definitely go above and beyond and are friendly, caring professionals. However, for this local brach the younger workers they employ clearly dont care and give this branch a very bad name.

This package was not expected until Tuesday, Jan. 9. Though I appreciate Sunday deliveries, I wish the postal carrier would actually put my deliveries at my door instead of leaving them in the mail room where anyone can pick it them before I can get there. I tracked this package and the carrier said it was delivered outside my front door or on the porch. This is not true. There is nothing there. I have to get my walker, don a ton of coats, and go to the mail room if I have hopes of receiving what I ordered. This is an over-62 complex and all mail carriers should know this.

Im 65 years old and have lived in several states throughout the US...PA, CO, FL, OH, WV and have received postal service from no fewer than a dozen different post offices throughout my adult life. Hanover is without question, the absolute worst I have encountered. To be fair, I am not familiar with any individual locations internal operations; however I think it is safe to assume that all branches must conform and operate under the same postal regulations. Therefore, I am befuddled as to how Hanovers branch is exponentially worse than any other I have experienced. It makes sense to me that the problem must be local management. I would be interested and certainly open to hearing from the branch Post Master for whom I have a list of questions with regard to local operations. I hope to hear from you.

Ordered some extremely valuable collectibles, an empty OPENED poster tube was delivered to my house. When I visited and asked them if they could look for my items I was told they weren’t there, the staff didn’t even leave the desk to bother to look! When I asked about an insurance check (my items were priced at $170 of merchandise lost.they said the most they could give me was $25, which I never received a check for. Was told there was no possible way someone could have stolen my items, even though the tube was completely sealed (the seller sent me pictures of the package before she sent it as proof. Absolutely garbage customer service on the regular, everyone who works here acts like they hate their life and don’t bother to be even mildly polite.

I actually have no problems with this location. I own a business and drive up to loading dock with over a hundred packages a day.They come right out with carts.My new mail carrier is amazing! They do pick ups at my home and my mail lady even got approval for a large dump bin at my home.She stops by to see if everything is a ok.Just so friendly.I on occasion get the neighbors mail but I dont freak out I just stick it in thier box or hand to mail lady.My home delivery mail service is perfectly fineHanover pa locarion,on highs street gets 5 stars

Never received mail that my “informed delivery” email from USPS from last Friday (Jan. 17told me I was going to get. Went to PO on Tuesday and spoke to a “supervisor”. He took my name and number and promised to call me after he spoke to our route postman. Still waiting for that call and still waiting for that mail that never came! Not the first time that this happened. I’m still waiting for mail that was supposed to be delivered before Christmas! Who is the Postmaster for Hanover anyway? His name is a mystery!

Postal carrier is too lazy to walk down to my apartment to knock on the door and too lazy to even ring the buzzer to inform me that I had a letter that was certified issued to me and it required my signature. They just put a slip in my mailbox saying they are sorry they missed me while out and I was home all day. Happened on 2 occasions including today!! I called into the post office and made a complaint and told them what happened. I also told them that if they don’t believe me, there are surveillance cameras in the building including one above the locked mailboxes. All he did was fill out a paper and stick it in the mailbox without ringing or knocking for me to get this Certified Mail which was important. The guy on the phone apologized and said he’d call the carrier to try to reach him and to have him come back and if not, I’ll have to pick it up Monday morning at the Post Office since it’s a Saturday. Ridiculous!!

This location offers all the modern day amenities one would expect from a government organization. Sub standard parking, long waits, inadequate staff, and constant redirection of customer complaints and grievances. The majority of the staff members are despite this polite, and professional, this being about the only positive thing one can say about this location.

My attorney mailed an important restricted delivery document Friday Aug 16. My USPS app showed it to be delivered the next day, Saturday. It never came. I used the missing mail option for redelivery. Now its being delayed 2 weeks! There was a tiny note on the delivery notice that an attempted to deliver was made at 8:30am Saturday. We were both home! We have a very loud doorbell, so I have my doubts any effort was made at all. What a lousy, undependable service if you can even call it. Why does the post office need to take 2 weeks to attempt delivery a second time when they couldnt manage it the first time?

I always ship stuff out priority mail, normally I go to parcel plus. They supply the box, tape and make it all easy. But This is the second time I’ve been to the post office to ship something out priority mail and they “did not have the right box size” witch is a plain medium box, so they try getting me to ship it out another way witch is double the price. Then when you ask why is it so much more expensive they get defensive. I’d say for Being a post office you think they’d be supplied. Guess not.

I am writing for a local business. Today I had a neighbor come into the office with 4 checks (out of the envelopesto see if they belonged to us. Delivered to them by mistake. Luckily these Spanish speaking people found us and returned the checks. As everyone knows it is important to have all your mail delivered correctly. It occurred to me that a few weeks earlier I had a pile of mail delivered by a substitute carrier here. I wrapped with rubber band and next day told our regular carrier what happened. Very dissatisfied with our Hanover office. Wonder if management needs to cut more jobs and make carriers work longer yet.Does quality control exist; this is a service to the community.

I went here to get my mail forwarded and they continue to send it to my old house. Even when I lived at my residence in Hanover they constantly sent me mail from other people and sent my mail to other neighbors who were no where near my home. Constantly delivered wrong packages as well... something needs to change!

Im giving this post office 1 star because they dont have a zero!! Ive lived in Hanover for about 2 1/2 yrs now and this is the worst place Ive ever encountered! Our packages and letters arrive at the post office and they arent put in our p.o. box or delivered to our address for sometimes days!! This is completely unacceptable!! Its just sitting there! It they are really that swamped 365 days per year, then hire more help!!! Its not right science!!

I had 3 items that were to be delivered to my house this Christmas season. How many packages made it to my house? ZERO. How much responsibility does the post office think they have about this? ZERO. I was told this was my loss. 2nd item is a $150 item that I paid $98 for on a very goid sale. This is a big loss to me! 1st one confirmed delivered a block from my house. Weeks later, I still have no package. At that time I called the post office and told them I had been getting the wrong mail on a daily basis and to please ask the carrier to be careful with deliveries. I continued to get the wrong mail daily. Yesterday had the same situation... mail delivered near but not at my house. I call. It is indicated they will call my carrier. Hours later, they haven’t seen him to talk to him to find out where it went. At 715 pm same day, I get phone notification that package # 3 has been delivered. I immidiatley go to my door, and guess what? NO PACKAGE. Of course, now the local post office is no longer answering their phone, so I am on hold for 1 hour to talk to someone about this snd I still have no freaking resolution.

The Hanover Post Office must have been closed today as well as yesterday for Columbus Day! No mail carrier delivered any mail whatsoever to me today and I have 4 packages stating that they are out for delivery for today! The service used to be good, but has gotten so terrible as of late, that I wonder how they even manage to keep it running at all.

Our carrier constantly tries to not have to deliever to our house. We moved our mailbox to her liking and she still will avoid it and make an excuse to not deliver. She also has complained about our driveway, she’s a rurual mail delivery person with a Jeep Wrangler - how do you expect me to accomdate my driveway when no other service has issues delivering? There have been numerous times she hasn’t delivered my husband’s medications - he’s a wounded warrior so they get sent by the VA and now my current issue is them being open for 30 minutes but not taking their phone off the closed answering service. It’s now 0900 am on a Saturday and they’ve been open since 0830.

Wow...totally disappointed! I specifically asked the young male at the counter on Monday if my card would be delivered to a Hanover address by the next day. I told him how important it was that it got there and if it couldnt be done I would hand deliver it. He assured me and I quote..."Oh yes if you bring it in here we stamp it so it doesnt go to Harrisburg first." Great....however it didnt get there on Tuesday and isnt there yet today!! What happened to Hanover residents getting mail to another Hanover resident the next day?! Unbelievable and sad.

The carrier in our neighborhood (80+ homeshas delivered the mail to the wrong address numerous times over the past year. When a neighbor and his wife approached the postmaster with the issue he told them there is nothing he can do because the carrier is a civil servant and cannot be fired easily. I recently processed a change of address on line with the forwarding date for the mail of mid January. This very same carrier ignored the forwarding date and had our mail sent to the new address immediately. When I complained at the post office I was told the mail would come back eventually. To date none has. The carrier "sucks at her job" is what I told the counter person. Still waiting for the missed directed mail. Zero stars was not an option!

Just moved about 3 weeks ago to Hanover a couple days after move in and getting all the information to do with our mail boxes I went in to this post office the lady was decent but i old her I need to get the locks changed in order to get our mail she wrote down my information and said the guy would be out to change them in a few days... well here its been 2 1/2 weeks and we are still unable to get in the boxes that ave important bills in and packages!

This post office has three registers on the counter and on a number of visits, there is only one person working behind the counter. It is not very ideal if there are a lot of customers who need to mail things or pick up mail especially if they might be in a hurry. If a customer has a particular request, the employee, probably already overwhelmed from dealing with a long line, has to run to the back and not return for a few minutes which causes further delay. The customers who were there today looked rather impatient as if they had been standing there for 15+ minutes. Bottom line: there needs to consistently be at least two people working behind the counter. Until that happens, customers should plan to add on at least another 15-20 minutes onto their travel time if they are making a stop along the way to their destination.

Parking is a little wonky, but the automatic teller machine is nice to avoid the lines when you just need stamps or to quickly print a shipping label for a package
