I bought a pre-owned car from this store couple of days ago. After drive a few hundred miles, I should say I like this car, in terms of both appearance and driving experience. Moreover, the service offered by the sales person Mr. Janneh is awesome. He is nice and professional which made the entire process runs quite smoothly.
Always and easy, quick, and enjoyable experience any time I need service done!
Awesome place!Dennis is friendly and helpful and help me pick a nice mazda3!Besides, I went there for a car diagnosis once, and the technicians are all friendly as well and didnt charge me any money at last.
I had a very pleasant experience with my cx 5 purchase here. The customer service here is excellent. Dennis in sales and Brian in finance are awesome guys. Both of them were very honest with me about everything, and I was very comfortable making a purchase here. Dennis explained every inch of the car, and was not pushy at all while I was there. He even checked back on me after the purchase which I love. Brian always put a smile on my face when talking to him. Good vibes all round. Thank you Mazda of Seattle!
The whole experience I had in this dealership was fine. I ordered my CX-30 in early August. I wait almost two months there is no built date update. I paid 1000 dollars deposits, they didn’t say it was non-refundable at the beginning. So I ask them if I can get refund of my deposit since I waited too long. I called in and they told me only the sale manager can approve that refund, so I wait about an hour to talk to the manager. The manager name is Michael Hourigan, he was extremely rude to me. He said the car will arrive in several days, that’s the reason he can’t refund to me. But no one told me about the information. NO UPDATE AT ALL. He yelled at me and said he will not refund the deposit to me, repeat a lot of times. I told him you didn’t tell me the deposit is non refundable, so that is spam. He hang up my call immediately. If you want to get a horrible experience just go to the dealership and ask Micheal for help. I don’t think he is fit to this position.
Trevor out of the University Mazda branch provided excellent service and went above expectation. Thank you!
Really liked the service and support. Thanks to Hunter for promptly letting us know when the model we were interested in became available, and Dennis for being very helpful through the purchase process, and after as well.
Always top notch service. Excellent communication via text from Summer. Terry -- who could be a professional YouTuber or radio host -- makes the most outstanding walkthroughs of vehicles while diagnosing and servicing them, and this level of transparency makes me feel confident about the work being recommended and performed on my vehicle.
I had the absolute best experience here. I’m traveling around the country in my CX5 and my car was in need of an oil change, tire rotation and multipoint inspection. These guys were booked up, but after explaining that I would be leaving Seattle in two weeks, they got me in a week later. Left the car with them for the day and they had it ready for me by 3. The video they sent showing the condition of various components of the car was so helpful, and their advice regarding when to replace certain filters and top off fluids was great. At no point did I feel like I was “being fleeced” or tricked into paying for unnecessary services or parts. Their honesty and straightforwardness was refreshing, as was their friendliness! My only problem is that they’re not closer to where I live! I’d be bringing my car to them all the time. Thanks so much Mazda of Seattle!
Looks like they were not interested to sell the car. They didn’t even explain me the features of the car. The manager didn’t help either. Would not recommend.
Great team! The videos uploaded to show the service were great and informative!
We had to make a reservation to bring in the car for a new fob/key made ($450.00). We also had the liftgate lifters replaced to comply with the recall. We were told that it would take an hour and a half. I thought well things have changed with the service department at the dealership. When I brought the car in they told me three hours. Better to just drop the car off in the morning things have not really changed in the service department.
After being burned at another dealer, my wife and I traveled to Lee Johnson Mazda of Seattle and purchased a CX-5. Their sales department was the most honest, straightforward, and helpful dealership we have ever worked with. From Michael Hourigan the manager, through all of his staff including Hunter, Dee, and Brian... all were extremely helpful. I will absolutely work with this dealership in the future since their pricing is very fair and they pride themselves in customer service and integrity.
I absolutely love the service team at Mazda of Seattle! They do amazing work, are super transparent and friendly, and I trust that Im walking out in a vehicle that is safe and ready to roll.
Didnt have a specific problem with them, but this place is a shadow of its former self. Previously I was a regular Mazda service customer with University Mazda. After changing hands, Lee Johnson Mazda offers far less value for far more money. I will seek out another Mazda dealership next time.1. The cost of regular maintenance is almost double what it was previously, but I get that there was a pandemic and everything is expensive now. Just a heads up. They also offer no online coupons - again not surprised, just another way its gotten more expensive.2. They now charge a 3% fee to use a credit card, which I get for small mom and pop restaurants operating on razor-thin margins, but come on youre not even a mom and pop mechanic, youre a car dealership, and service bills run $100s to $1000s of dollars - that adds up!3. They dont wash your car anymore, due to staffing shortages. Again, understandable, but its another perk gone.4. They didnt seem to have any of my previous records of service done by University Mazda, which was one reason I kept returning to the same location.5. While waiting for service I wanted to see what new a few new Mazda vehicles were like, as Im considering trading my current one in. There was no one there. For the entire hour or more that I waited in the dealership area for my service to be done, not a single person was present to talk to me. I watched another lady walk in from the street, look around puzzled for a while, and then leave. Seems like their sales team might just be gone, or at least extremely short staffed - which is odd, considering that both demand & prices for vehicles right now are sky-high.6. If you are looking to buy a car, the few they had available to look at outside on the lot all seemed to have an "economy adjustment" of about +10% added to MSRP, so I assume that means if you want to buy a car for anything close to MSRP, youd probably need to shop elsewhere. Unfortunately there was no one there I could ask about it.
The service personnel were prompt and courteous. Oil change, tire rotation, and inspection video were all completed in just a little over 1 hour as stated when I dropped off my car.
With the help of Ken i was able to get Mazda CX 5 during new car inventory shortage in July22. Ken was able to act quickly and secure a car for me on the day it arrived. The team is very responsive and helped me getting finance are a cheaper rate. Overall very good experience and will recommend the dealer who are planning to buy Mazda.
Great dealer, the sales person Kent, a truly honest man, will buy from again.
Mazda of Seattle has excellent customer service and provides great maintenance! I’ve been going to them for over 10 years and have yet to be unimpressed. They provide helpful feedback, videos of your repairs to keep you updated, and good recommendations to ensure your car gets exactly what it needs. Thanks Mazda!
This was my first visit to their service department and it couldnt have gone better. Summer was absolutely amazing and took great care of me and my CX-5. Great up front communication, they were right on time with the promised schedule, and there were no surprises or up-sells. I bought the CX-5 (usedat this dealership over a year ago and William was also fantastic. Based on these two experiences, I highly recommend. I will be back. Thank you!
I was explained things correctly.Hunter has explained and was very helpful in clearing any doubt. Overall process was smooth without any hassle.
I highly recommend Mazda of Seattle for your next car purchase. We worked with Ken and not only was he friendly and welcoming, but he was also very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. The experience was very smooth from when we made the appointment with Michael, to looking at multiple cars and doing multiple test drives with Ken to the financing and all the way to the final deal. We never felt pressured and we were treated with respect, which, unfortunately, is not the case at every dealership. Im walking away feeling good and happy in my new car.
During my service, they video record the work that is being done. I thought this was really informative and since you can save the video, good for any issues you may have for the future to reference.
We had tires slashed last in the evening, and Mazda of Seattle was able to get them changed in just a couple hours even on a busy day when many other tires-only shops said they couldn’t get to us for a week!
This place used to be excellent before it was taken over by Lee Johnson, now is comprised of scam artists from the advisors to the mechanics. They recommended replacing several expensive parts during a routine oil change, and when I got a second opinion, they stated those parts were in perfect working order and condition, with replacement being unnecessary. Take your car elsewhere otherwise you WILL be ripped off here.
GO ELSEWHERE!!!My wife and I just had an appalling and horrifying experience with one of the salespeople at Mazda of Seattle (AKA Lee Johnson Mazdaon Roosevelt Avenue. We are shopping for a new car and were treated with distain and contempt bordering on open hostility by a salesman named Sonny. (Sonny is an African American gentleman, thin, medium height with square black glasses. He refused to provide his last name.)Looking back on the interaction, perhaps he looked at our suntans (we got home from vacation yesterdayand concluded we are Hispanic which led to an unwillingness to help us in any way. He was blunt, dismissive and rude. He denied that there were any unsold Mazda CX-30s available for us to look at and he flatly refused to allow us to even look in the window of a "pre-sold" CX-30 to judge the rear right corner blind spot. We later discovered by accident that FOUR CX-30s were on the lot, unsold and available- and Sonny had inspected those same four cars less than half an hour before our arrival. (One white, two silver and one charcoal with red (!seats, for the record.)It is entirely possible that Sonny isnt racist at all but has a deep aversion to people wearing fleece jackets. I dont know and I dont care; whatever the cause, his behavior was inexcusable. I will certainly never return to that dealership and I strongly recommend you look elsewhere, too.
Wonderful experience. Sonny was great to work with. It was not just a business transaction, rather a personal experience. In the foreground, we had conversations about multiple things while in the background, a business transaction was occurring. The whole team was welcoming and friendly and they even worked with my own limited time to get me out the door with a new car while providing exceptional customer service. I will definitely come here again for my next Mazda. And again, go see Sonny. He was great!
My car has been serviced at University Mazda for years. I have been happy with the service every time. Recently my cars CMU was mysteriously corrupted. It took time to get resolved. But it was and I am very happy with the service and communication from Lee Johnson Mazda. David Stephenson and crew do a great job.
I had such a fantastic car buying experience here with Sonny. I was anxious about the entire process going in but they make it incredibly painless and straightforward here which I genuinely appreciate. I knew exactly what I wanted and about how much I could afford budget-wise, and everyone worked with me to get me a great deal and rate. I was in and out in about two hours. 10/10 would recommend purchasing a car here.
This is the best auto dealer Ive ever worked with. They recently changed ownership to Lee Johnson Mazda and when I went in for service yesterday, it was the same friendly and helpful crew theyve always had. When I bought my 2019 CX-5 Signature, the sales process was a breeze. I brought my own CU financing (very low rate), and they did not work me over to take work with one of their lenders, gunshoting my loan all over town and tanking my FICO scores. I highly recommend this dealership for sales and service.
Went for a test drive . The executive was extremely arrogant & rude, made our entire stay unbearable. After the test drive, he spent 5 mins discussing financing options and left us hanging. Finally we decided to leave after waiting for someone to come around and not commit to this dealership with our purchase. To put the customer experience in perspective here is the experience from other dealerships, executive gave us time to get a feel of the car, was brainstorming options and going thru features during the test drive, spent 20 mins discussing all models and best financing options.
This review is a long time coming! Steve Bell sold us our first car (usedand helped us navigate the entire process with ease. 4 months later, after an unfortunate accident and having the car declared a total loss, he sold us another (new, this time2021 CX-5 with ease and simplified the complications for us. Steve has been an absolute pleasure to work with, and is a really kind and gentle human overall. He even helped us navigate the accident, checked in to make sure we were okay.... And all around took great care of us as humans. Thanks Steve! Really appreciate you.
Have been using their car service for several years. Love this place. The staff is very friendly and helpful, always explains everything they did to fix the car. Its a very popular place, so sometimes its a bit difficult to schedule an appointment. It is the very first Mazda dealership in the USA!
My husband and I worked with Steve Bell for a test drive and sales - and Steve was great : ). He was relaxed and good-humoured through the whole process, and we never felt like we were getting a hard sell. He listened to what we wanted/needed and was responsive and focused. We test-drove one model and decided to upgrade to the premium, but with zero pressure or cajoling from Steve. He kept us informed at every stage of the sale and we walked away very happy. He is definitely a fan of the car we landed on ( for realand that helped make the whole investment feel good. I would recommend him highly.
Worked with Sonny on a test drive here. He was extremely helpful and friendly. No high pressure from him, just enthusiasm about a good car. Though I didnt end up buying here, thats only because it wasnt quite the right car. Sonny is great.
Purchased a brand new Mazda CX-5 in 2014. Skip to 2021 and under 60’000 miles later and I’m replacing the transmission. The warranty expired in 2018 at 50k. Again, under 60,000 miles. The car other than this has a clean bill of health. I spoke to the service department at this location twice who were super unhelpful. Both times. Kind of rude but mostly unhelpful. They estimated 8k to replace and couldn’t help with any reason this might be happening. Best suggestion was I didn’t drive it enough. Hmmm. That wasn’t the case and again unhelpful. This situation is by no means typical and not what you’d ever expect to happen having bought a new car from a reputable dealership. A little empathy and understanding could have gone a long way. A pretty negative customer experience. I’d suggest hitting up another Mazda dealership in case you’re ever in a similar situation after purchasing from this location.
I want to express my gratitude and appreciation to University Mazda and personally to Hunter, my salesman and to Winnie, the finance director. This was the most pleasant and straightforward car shopping experience ever!Hunter kept in communication with me till midnight on the night before the purchase and supported my decision to sell my trade-in separately for extra money.Next day, he set me up with the test drive of my car, then took care of washing it while Winnie signed the financial documents with me. The whole process took under one hour. Finally, Hunter went over all necessary controls in the car and made sure I know everything I need to know before I drove away.THANK YOU, the University Mazda team!
Great, no-pressure experience test driving a Mazda 3 here. Dennis was great, gave a clear run-down of the car features, pricing and flexibility with the test drive. I didnt even buy anything (I decided to go with a different brand), but wanted to leave a comment, since it was such a great experience. Would happily come back in the future.
Bought a Mazda here two years ago and its been the best experience. Great service team, especially Brian! They really care and make you feel like family. Will never buy another car.
I drive an older Mazda, and it died in the vicinity of this shop. The people here could not have been nicer or more understanding. They helped me get my vehicle into their shop and then did everything in their power to get me going again. It was not only their efforts, but their extremely friendly and welcoming attitude that made what was a really difficult situation, much easier to deal with. These guys are absolutely great, I cannot recommend them highly enough!
Always got really good service at this location. We were emotionally devastated to learn that this location will be forced by the brand to close permanently in the near future. The other Mazda dealerships in the area are not as highly rated as this one, and for good reasons. The people here really cared about doing good work, and good customer service. Going to miss them. Shame on Mazda for forcing this dealership to close.
We had an exceptional experience shopping for our new used car here. Sonny was hands down the most professional, knowledgeable, and not-pushy salesperson we’ve ever encountered. Test driving was a breeze and the entire team there was courteous, friendly, and fun to work with. If you like Mazdas, definitely consider checking them out. You won’t be disappointed!
My sales consultant Sonny was great to work with. Test drive was very easy and the location took their covid precautions seriously; very professional without pressuring you, and the lot has some good deals going. Communication was good and Sonny was really knowledgeable about the different models and trims. I’d definitely work with them again.
I bought a Certified Used Mazda CX-5 here about a month ago and my experience so far has been exceptional!Dennis Thomas was my salesperson and you should ask for him if you like someone who isnt super high pressure, but present and helpful at all stages of the buying experience - hes awesome!Ive had to take my car in to the service department a couple of times now. Once to get a missing key made and once for a flat tire. My experience with all the guys in service has been great! They respond to me in a timely manner, theyre helpful without being condescending, my service has also happened in a timely manner and the shop is an extremely clean and well maintained place so its not dismal if you have to wait. They were super generous and since I had just purchased the car they patched up my flat tire for free after I picked up some nails somewhere and even gave her a bath.Really exceptional service!
The staff is very friendly and helpful in finding the right car that fits your needs. Additionally the sales/finance team is very friendly in negotiating. They take all scenarios into consideration and genuinely work to give you the best possible price that they can do. Additionally they are very transparent with all details, no hiding or trying to overprice any service.Lastly the facility is very clean and professional. A great experience working with the staff to purchasing a new vehicle.
I meant to write a review a while ago, but never got around to it as I hardly ever write reviews in the first place. However, after our great experience here, I felt a review was needed. My wife and I bought a certified pre-owned cx-5 and could not be happier. They were able to work with us on the pricing and we feel that we got a pretty great deal. We worked with Alex in sales and he was very friendly and not pushy like the other used car salesmen we have dealt with. He made the experience very smooth and enjoyable. A couple days after we purchased, we noticed a gouge in the sidewall of the tire, and we had not been close to any curbs and had hardly driven the vehicle. University Mazda agreed that the gouge must have been there when we purchased, and they replaced the back 2 tires free of charge. Very impressed by their professionalism! We have had a couple other friends buy from this dealership, and everyone has great things to say.
My husband and I recently bought a Mazda cx-5. This is a great car! We were not going to buy a car on this particular day, but rather just decided to look at the future. Many thanks to our consultant Alex, with his recommendations and professionalism, the purchase brought us a lot of pleasure. He took into account all our wishes, helped in every detail and we left with a new car and in a great mood. Alex is a true professional!
I was recently in for an oil change at another Mazda dealership. I was anticipating a routine oil change and maybe a few other routine maintenance items but they ended up quoting me over 2000 worth of what they felt was necessary work. I was shocked. I walked out and called University Mazda. Typically I get my car serviced at University Mazda but with the bridge out I was looking to not have to deal with traffic.Ryan, my service tech, was very helpful and informative. The mechanic, Sara, reviewed the list of recommended service items and shared her advice about what should and should not be done. She was great and I walked away with a fair, reasonable repair bill. Not the crazy 2K from the other Mazda dealer. Thank you University Mazda. I will surly buy my next car from you guys.
What was initially diagnosed over the phone as a possible broken seat belt clasp ... turned out to be a simple disassemble and cleaning, and at a fraction of the original estimate. Plus, they washed and vacuumed my car as always. Another visit and another reason Im glad I made the drive from Normandy Park to the University District six years ago to purchase my glow-in-the-dark green Mazda 2 from University Mazda. Wonderful folks :)
University Mazda does so much right! Not only did I lease 2 new fully loaded SUVs from them this year, but Ive had service install extras since the purchase. Every time Ive reached out to University Mazda they were quick to respond and so helpful. The team there does an outstanding job of making everyone feel amazing - from sales, to F&I, to service.
