Going to the Vet. is never fun,couldnt get in to see my vet. Worried my dogs are sick we take them here,real nice people,great Vet,didnt want to run all kinds of unnecessary test,even asked to text her on Sunday to see how everything was,and text me back
Carly was the rudest receptionist i’ve ever encountered over the phone. I understand vets are busy however that doesn’t not mean you can be inconsiderate to people calling. As soon as the phone was answered she said “can you hold?” i responded “yes” there was no thank you the phone just automatically clicked to hold tone. Once she answered again I asked a question i called about, she gave me a vague answer, to which i said “thank you” and said “mhmmm bye bye” and hung up the phone, didn’t ask me if there was anything else i needed or any other questions i had, simply just hung up. I immediately called back and asked for her name. Thanks Carly for being the rudest receptionist i’ve ever experienced. Do better and be more thorough.

I’ve called PetCare West twice over the span of two days. The first time I called, a lovely nurse helped me through the process of making sure my animal gets taken care of. I was told by her that she would request a refill on medication and she was going to call the next day. My husband called a day later as we had not heard anything from PetCare West. When his call was answered, a different nurse was on the line. She was very rude, did not say her name, and spoke to us as if we were stupid. This would be our second interaction with her. I love PetCare West as they take great care of my animal, but one of the nurses has been extremely rude in every interaction.
She is the best Veterinarian I dealt with for over 30 plus years. Studied in UC Davis. I have been breeding dogs since 1984
In June 2020 my dog started limping. I took her in seeking x-rays. The doctor told me they would only do x-rays under sedation (costs more). She was CONFIDENT the limping was caused by arthritis (not injurybecause my dog was 10 years old. She was confident x-rays were not necessary. She put my dog on 100mg of Carprofen a day for pain management. A year later I take my dog to a new vet to do her annual senior blood work. Kidneys are damaged by the Carprofen. She has to stop taking it. This vet does x-rays (unsedatedand its an injury. Fracture in her elbow. It healed weird. Now my dog is in pain for the rest of her life and cant take painkillers because this vet didnt do her job a year ago. She used her authority to make me think she knew what was best for my dog. In reality sedation for x-rays was unnecessary, the carprofen was dangerous, and her assumption about arthritis was wrong and reckless. This is malpractice.
We provided all of the information to the VCA on the telephone. We arrived with an urgent 1:00AM ER request. We were told to fill out the form with the same information. Every minute counted. We were told there were two patients ahead. Our dog stopped breathing. We wasted several minutes in their parking lot. Our pet died waiting for the stooges at VCA.Our pet died in part because VCA is incompetent.
Great staff, great doctors,all my pets go here for their needs. Great place !
I brought my lab here for a regular check up and it was so easy. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I can’t thank them enough for the work that they do taking care of our animals. Great service and great team. Thank you again!!
We needed emergency care on a weekend when our regular vet was closed. Our little dog had gotten a bottle of VitD3, got the lid off, and ate an unknown amt of the gelcaps. PetCare went above and beyond, contacting poison control, doing procedures, even going across town to pick up a special med that vets dont normally have on hand. They kept in touch every day checking in for updates. Very caring and reassuring. They spoke with our regular vet to let them know what had been done. I cant say enough about how great they are.
Been taking my pets to Dr LaMar for a decade and have only ever had an excellent experience with her and her entire staff. They never overcharge, they never over treat and they always give me options. I have euthanized two pets with her and it was a tender and sweet experience with little candles burning in the room and everything.
Everyone on the staff here was kind to us and very organized around their procedures, with excellent internal and external communication. I was very impressed and never had to explain myself multiple times and everyone was on the same page for a very quick appointment, despite it being my first time and not knowing anything going in.
I really appreciated there patience with me while my dog Bailey my best friend was very sick. And I was very thankful that they gave Bailey lots of love and they took care of him so that he could come home.
The lady I talked to was very nice. I Has some stray cat fixed and my name was on the chip so I went to get the cat. Now I have two cat.
Over priced injection. Staff extremely rude. Took forever to check out and short changed me at that. Upon returning my pet to me I mentioned the outrageous cost for the injection. Mind you my pet gets this injection every 25 days and usually goes to VCA East the injection is $ 19.50 @ VCA West they charge for the exact injection $ 51.35 when I told the tech I won’t be returning and the cost is ridiculous she threw the disposable leash at me and walked away. My pet was still attached to it. I will call and speak with her superior. Customer care has gone to Hell!
They did everything and used every resource to provide the best care. They saved our kitten SLOball!
I had a hard time finding a vet in the area willing to take new patients. We recently moved to Santa Rosa and my dog desperately needed heart pills. I received excellent care. It felt like the doctor really took her time to review his medical history from his prior vet and thoroughly examined my dog. She had excellent bedside manner even though we could only speak by phone due to covid-19.
I’ve always had positive experiences with this vet until now. My cat, who is prone to UTIs, is suffering through another one and because he hasn’t been seen within the past year (it’s been 53 weeks since his last visit), they will not prescribe an antibiotic, and they are too busy to see him for at least 10 days. So they referred me to Petcare East, who even though they can’t see him either, at least were professional enough to provide me with the names of local vets who will see him this week. It astounds me that this office can’t make a slight 7 day exception to their prescription policy when they are too busy to see a sick cat with a chronic condition.
We are from Oregon and visit here often and have had very good experiences with your staff. I accompanied my sister today with her dog. I realize Covid has forced all of us to experience the new normal. But because people and dogs cant come into the facility and your requesting people to call first you need adequate personnel to answer your phones. Also outside you have a sign to educate people on how hot pavement can be on dogs feet yet people were standing outside with their dogs without cover with the temp 87 degrees. We always appreciate your expertise but I feel these are important issues to be addressed. Thankyou, MeeMee D.

Lately, my experiences with the front desk staff have been incredibly rude, mostly on the phone. They are short and condescending (last experience 7/7/20). These seem to normally occur when calling in with questions or prescription refill requests. I recently questioned the dosage for my 60 pound dog, which by pound would need a dosage of 68.4 mg, yet I was prescribed a dosage for a much larger dog of 136 mg. This was double the dosage! For what is basically an insecticide for dogs (flea & tick). I was met with argument from the front desk clerk, she states she consulted with the vet, but I was not able to speak with him. I was also promised a call the next day from the manager with "approval" to exchange my dosage and I never received a call, which tells me the clerk never even relayed the message to the manager for approval. This is very concerning regarding the rude treatment of humans that are very concerned about their animal family. The staff is very dismissive of concerned customers.
Friendly, clean, affordable options for treatments without forcing bills. Interest charges add up if you ignore them though. Pay your bills.

Absolutely love VCA because they were friendly, nice and thorough. They even called a week later to check up on our animals. Highly recommend them.
Our kitten ate a long piece of string and got seriously sick. From the very first phonecall to the last, everyone at VCA was kind, attentive, and reassuring. Dr. Laiken (sp?was incredible: she walked us through every option, took the time to thoroughly explain everything that was happening, and even called to check in on our kitten. We 100% know who our veterinarian will be for all future visits now!
VCA PetCare West has an amazing staff. From their doctors to their receptionists I have never had any issue and am always met with care, patience, and kindness. I wouldnt take my kitties or my pup anywhere else, thank you, to all of you at PetCare West.

I am in love with this place for a number of reasons. They helped my boyfriend and I locate a lost dogs owner when other facilities turned us away because they were too busy. This morning I was awoken at 6 am to my dog having a seizure (his first onewe ran up to the building to ask for help and they did not hesitate!!!! They were out there in moments with a Gurnee and have him the best care we could have asked for. I love bringing my boy here and he loves it!! Thank you for being so awesome
Not very helpful, was going to take my dog here for her spay, they charge a lot here and upsell you for things that are not required that they will tell you are state law.... But many other reputable places dont require certain things if already under the care of another vet as we are. My apologies about the vagueness. Im trying to get the point across without all the details. Needless to say I will not bring anybof my 3 dogs here!
The other location provides a way better experience. I had to pull teeth to get any information regarding my dog because the doctor was always too busy to speak. Theres nothing worse than your dog is not feeling well and when you cant get any information, it makes you worry even more.
Do not recommend this place they will scam you.We Went in with $25 first visit. They charge us about $180 without telling us at all what they were doing with our cat. Very very upsetting and frustrating never going back unless you got money to spend here for there spammers.

We wanted to set up a local vet for our dogs when we moved here! It was easy to get an appointment, and the Vets and staff were all very friendly! They even worked to get us in quickly when one of our pups was showing signs of a bladder infection. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff!
VCA PetCare West staff is helpful and speedy to help and assist. Everyone is very professional and I feel confident with their medical recommendations. I also love that the company works closely with Trupanion Pet Insurance so I can get affordable care for my pet without any hassle.
The VCA helped us with our pregnant dog, giving us information we needed to be knowledgeable and provide her with the care she and the puppies needed. They helped us to make sure that our worries during the birthing process were reassured and that the puppies and mama were healthy. Would recommend going there to anyone and Im thankful for my friend recommending them to me.
Saved my 19 year old cats life. I get to have my best friend longer thanks to their wonderful treatment staff. And it was not hugely expensive
What an awesome pet clinic!From the moment I stepped in the door I was impressed. The waiting areas are good sized cubbies that are semi private, so you can be alone with your pet with out mingling with other animals.Treat bowls are available for pets & people both as well as what looked like an Expresso machine.The ladies at the front desk were courteous and helpful. When introduced to the vet you could tell immediately she loves her job and the animals she services. Her name was Brianne, and I would highly recommend her. Articulate in explaining what treatment my puppy was in need of and answered all my questions in a way easily understood.If youre a senior, discounts are available and were really appreciated.Ive found a new Vet and am very satisfied!Also, I almost forgot if you go to their website there is a coupon for a free first exam!

My Doggo has chronic ear infections. Its been years since theyve flared up though, but of course.. they always come back. I love the VCA animal hospital. Always able to fit us in, always super helpful, and super understanding of the fact that doggo isnt nice to strangers. Hes got pretty intense anxiety and needs a little extra to get the care he needs. Even if it means doing some unconventional things to get the job done. The prices can be high, especially if its an emergency appointment, but the care they give is worth it, knowing someone is always there, and always cares, even when hes being a butthead.
Friendly and caring staff. Dr. Jan and her staff took great care of my fur baby. Prices are a little high but my overall experience was excellent.
My dog received excellent care while she went through a medical emergency! Even the cost ended up much less then the estimate! I love Petcare and thank them for the their outstanding service!❤
Dr.Laken is absolutely amazing!!!! A beautiful clean office space,friendly staff as well as wonderful lab workers. They care about the health and safety of your loved pets. I recommend that everyone make a switch and go here.
They are always very nice and do a great job of follow-up. Dr. Savage and Dr. Storm always treated us and our dogs with respect.

I think they are knowledgeable and affordable. They are the go to vet for after hour emergency as they have a second location. I also just recently heard they offer cheap cremation. The last place people need to price gouge is while grieving the loss of a family member.
Very expensive but amazing service. Got in quickly. They have a very knowledgeable and nice staff. Clean welcoming environment. Vets there are top notch!
