WALTZ VINEYARDS ESTATE WINERY in Lancaster County
Went in for a tasting without realizing a reservation was needed buy they asked if i could join another group of ladies who were nice enough to accommodate me. We ended up having a blast and another guest ended up joining our table as well. The staff are kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. Every wine Ive tasted at this vineyard is amazing. Enough so that Ive joined the wine club and get to enjoy 3 bottles every few months!
MoreAmazing wines and a great experience!
Came here for the first time and was not disappointed! Their wines are great (on the drier side for the most part but still fantasticand we really enjoyed their selection of cheeses to try also! The wine tasting experience was excellent and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back!
MoreWent with 3 friends and did a taste sampling of 5 wines. Wide selection to choose from. We also ordered a side order of crakers and cheese with chocolate. Samples are served in tube that you pour into a glass. All wines we tasted were very good. We spent about and hour and a half tasting and talking. No one rushes you. We then went on a short tour of the wine storage room full of barrels and got a brief history of the Waltz company. Had a great time only negative bottles to buy were expensive, $27 and $36 for the wines we liked. Cheapest was $17 a bottle. Beautiful area very scenic.
MoreAwesome venue to enjoy outside especially on a beautiful Summer day. Delicious cheese and snacks with large portions. Unfortunately we were not a fan of the Test-tube portion controlled tastings. Recommend buying a bottle of one of their many award winning Vinos and enjoying the great view outside!!
MoreThis was my first visit and found that its best to make reservations before you go as it does get busy here. I was still able to do a tasting here though without one and was seated in the barrel room which was amazing. The tasting included 5 wines along with water to rinse your glass between changes. They also offer meats and cheeses to go along with your tasting which is great if you want to enhance the flavors of your wines. All of the wines I tasted here were great and I would recommend going to this place if you never have before. Lastly the people here were very friendly and even gave us a bit of history about the winery before we ordered.
MoreWonderful winery! The setting is perfect, the wine is incredible, and the people are fantastic! Worth every bit of time spent here!
MoreWe had a fantastic experience at Waltz for our ladies weekend. We had 14 ladies in for a pre-scheduled tasting. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed the wines. Some of the favorites were the rose and the cherry tree merlot. After the tasting, we relaxed with a picnic lunch at the tables on the lawn. I would definitely return!
MoreIm not a wine guy. We visited in March, so the outside was not so happy, but the staff was amazing. If I do wine, its dry. Im really looking forward to coming back again once it warms up outside. Again, the staff was so friendly and helpful. Please come out and support them!
MoreExcellent tasting experience and dry wines. A must go and visit.
Full bodied, flavorful, AWARD winning wines in a great location. I live in Harrisburg area and it is Definitely worth the trip, we do it about once a month.
MoreReceived two bottles this past summer as a employee gift. Loved them so I purchased 2 bottles for my daughter in law for Christmas. She was very pleased with her gift. She said it was the best wine she ever had. I had to agree. Will be booking a wine tasting sometime soon.
MoreI am on vacation for my partner’s birthday and we booked a table the day prior for a group of 8 people and gave a credit card to hold the table. We drove 45 minutes to the winery as we’d heard such positive things. Unfortunately, I left my wallet at the place where we were staying, an honest mistake. As I travel frequently, I had pictures of both the front and back of my driver’s license on my phone, as well as my passport. I was informed that I still would not be allowed in, as “it’s the law” that the ID card has to be physically present, not a picture. That is not, however, the law. Section 495(aof PA’s Liquor Code clearly states that a picture of either a valid driver’s license or a valid passport are acceptable forms of identification for the purposes of purchasing or consuming alcohol at an establishment with a valid license to serve. Our trip and my partner’s birthday were marred by a round trip 90 minute drive for absolutely nothing, due to an invalid assertion of PA law by an establishment that should, as a winery, know PA’s liquor code. This lack of professionalism and knowledge of the law in their own state, and lack and courtesy to a large group of customers coming to celebrate a special occasion, who had chosen their establishment due to its positive reputation should be a blight on said reputation. If you’re considering a trip there, I would consider going somewhere more polite, professional, and better informed of the laws of the state in which they reside.
MoreWhat a wonderful experience! My sister and I stopped into the shop at Kitchen Kettle on a whim. We were greeted by Carol who was so very friendly and very knowledgeable. I learned so much in those 30 minutes. She directed our attention to the video of the winery that was on. I asked if it was close. Well, we ended up there that very day, had a beautiful bottle of Rock Red out overlooking the amazing sight of Lancaster county! We felt like we were in Bordeaux country! Thank you for an incredible experience!
MoreVery friendly and knowledgeable staff and a nice atmosphere. The wines were pleasant and mostly all from estate grapes.
MoreBeautiful view of the countryside while there. Great wine, and the story of the process by the owners was phenomenal!
MoreWonderful wine, beautiful views, great tasting room, and a wonderful team. Jan, Kim and their team are awesome! We love to set up a picnic on their beautiful lawn and enjoy food and wine. Plus their dog, Lucy, is usually out and she is so sweet and playful. Win, win, win! Love this place.
MoreVery good wine. Loved the tasting in the barrel room. Very friendly staff.
So amazing! Wines were delish! Loved sitting outside on the yard Over looking the beautiful scenery! Definitely will be back! Ladies that were in side at the tasting room were great! Amazing experience!!!
MoreWine and location were wonderful, however the service was not as expected. We booked a wine tasting and it took over 30 minutes to have the sampler poured for us after our 5 selections were made. Once delivered in the test tubes for tasting, there was no explanation of the wine and the server never came back to talk to us or ask if we wanted to purchase any bottles to take outside. Instead, attention was focused on the costumers coming in with a wine membership. We waited for over 20 minutes before finally taking the hint that our server wasn’t planning on returning and paid for the sampler. While I recognize that things have changed with covid, I was still quite disappointed in the service provided. Hope things improve.
MoreGreat Bordeaux style wines. We enjoyed the friendly staff, gorgeous grounds and delicious wine. We were visiting from out of state and selected them due to Estate wines. Spent the afternoon enjoying a bottle in the wooden Adirondack chairs. Lovely winery with great views, wine and staff.
MoreWhat a surprise... right outside of Lancaster a family winery that grows their own grapes and makes some very appealing wines. I love the reserve chardonnay, fresh and crisp, and the cabernet sauvignon 2018 has some complex taste. And the settings are gorgeous, great views. All made better by a very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
MoreThe service in the tasting room was excellent. The decor is beautiful. I joined the wine club and am excited to go back again in the near future.
MoreWaltz has the best quality wine you will find in Central PA. Their varieties are so well made and the staff is always so helpful when you stop in. The tasting flights are so well done and the local cheese they offer is phenomenal. The view over the lawn is fantastic and a great place to relax with a glass after your tasting.
MoreBest Wine in Pa. Love the location to sit and enjoy a bottle or two. Great Merlot. Recommend to all wine lovers.
MoreEasily the best winery in PA. Normally when you go to a PA vineyard you’re going to get an overly sweet, light bodied wine that lacks depth and character. However, that is not the case at Waltz.. Everything is estate grown and bottled on property. It’s evident Kim and Jan have put so much heart into this establishment. You can enjoy amazing varietals while looking at sweeping views of Lancaster County. Even their dog Lucy is adorable. Truly cannot rate them high enough. 👍🏽👍🏽
MoreThis place was hidden off the road and you had to park in the grass. We walked in and were greeted right away. The staff was knowledgeable and the bathrooms were clean. The wine was good but you didnt get to keep the glass with the tasting. They offered tours but we didnt take one. I thought it was cool that the wine tasting was served in test tubes. They have cheese and cracker platters. The apple wine was the best one.
MorePick five wines and theyre delivered in test tubes that you pour into your glass to taste. They have cheese, crackers, and chocolate you can order indoors. You can also bring your own food but is only allowed outside. Views are beautiful on a nice day!
MoreWeve been there 3 times now. Each time we enjoy the wine and view. They are generous with their tastings and sampling. Its a little overpriced for the taste, but still good. We go there for the beautiful view, overlooking Lancaster county, farm landscaping, and we love it. The negative to the place is that they let their dog roam free. Each time weve been there the dog has come right up on us barking loudly and invading our space. Our toddler was scared. Each time we were there with another couple, it was difficult to focus on conversation because of the dog wanting our interaction. The dog is clearly friendly, but when youre trying to relax with wine and enjoy the view, the dog unfortunately makes it very unenjoyable. If it werent for the dog, wed be back a lot. Hoping the owners realize this.
MoreWow - outSTANDING wines! Mapped out a winery tour a few years ago, and just happened to luck into finding Waltz. Best Pennsylvania wines Ive ever tasted. The un-oaked Chardonnay and Fusion were both excellent. Not a red wines person, but willing to try if they come from this fine winery. Keep up the good work!!
MoreThis vineyards setting is perfect, overlooking Lancaster county. I look forward to returning in the summer and enjoying the view. We were lucky to have a tasting in the cellar where the oak aroma was wonderful. Their 2015 Cabernet was one of the best wines that I have tried.
MoreGreat afternoon tasting Waltzs fabulous wines, enjoying a bottle of our favorite with family. The barrel room makes a great setting.
MoreGreat local winery with some fantastic wines. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. If you are in Lancaster County, make sure to make this one of your stops.
MoreFound the place quaint, welcoming, informative. The video was very interesting to watch of the planting and harvesting the grapes. Our large group found all the different varieties lovely. We ended up buying several bottles. Will definitely be back.
MoreThis place is amazing! Great wine and cheeses, my friend and I went recently for a tasting and everything was so good. Staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. We both ended up buying a bottle of wine after trying the Moscato 2018. Highly recommend this place and will be coming back soon with family!
MoreWonderful tasting experience! Friendly staff, all wines were really good. Nice views to sit outside and relax with a glass of wine.
More100 percent made from grapes hand picked on site. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere even though its only 25 minutes from lancaster. They were busy, which is always a good sign, and we were sat in overflow seating with the barrels. Their tasting is brought out in tubes so you can get a full "in the glass" experience without relying on being served every 2 minutes. We walked out with a couple bottles which is a recommendation on its own.
MoreMy friends and I were visiting the area and stopped in the Kettle Kitchen location yesterday. Staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable. My main reason for the 5 stars is their Moscato is to die for. I normally dont drink due to not liking the taste of any wine, spirits or beer but I LOVED this wine!! They made me a wine believer!! Wish I could give more than 5 stars!
MoreMy husband and I took our friends who were visiting us from Maryland. We had the wine tasting and were pleasantly surprised and extremely happy with the entire process. I cannot remember the lady’s name but she was extremely helpful and gave us the tour and history of the winery. We all ended up purchasing bottles of wine. We each have our favorite. It was a delightful experience, the wine was delicious and we will definitely return to purchase more in the future. 👍🍷👍
MoreSurprised at the dry reds from a 100% PA winery. Enjoyed the Baron Red. The Sauvignon Blanc was a pleasant treat, we dont often buy white wines but this was a good one. The cheese and chocolate plate was well worth the $5. The wine prices seem a bit high, but not excessively high.
MoreBest wine in PA. Period. Love the tasting room experience and the fact that this is truly an estate winery -- growing and producing everything on the property. Amazing!
MoreIf you enjoy dry wines this will be a treat. There are very few places on the east coast that produce great dry wines and this is one of them. The wines are well crafted with the aid of wine consultant. The quality shines through. Would highly recommend.
MoreIf you truly enjoy relaxing on site with great wines its an open home for fellow anthusiest. Enjoy!
MoreWe had a group of 4 (plus an infantwho stopped at Waltz Vineyards Wine Shop in Kitchen Kettle Village yesterday to do a tasting and we were plesantly surprised by the experience! First of all, Dustin was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience memorable. Secondly, the wines - for having 2 people in our party who normally only drink sweet wine, we were surprised to find "dryer" options that we wholeheartedly enjoyed. We will definitely be back!
MoreIt was difficult to enjoy our experience when the woman conducting the tasting chastised and shamed my husband for taking a sip from the test tube (also an odd format for a $10-15 tasting). Based on the fact that there were only 6 patrons in the tasting room on a Saturday, I can assume others have also had a less than favorable experience. I would not recommend this winery for those looking for an enjoyable tasting experience.
MoreCame all the way from Delaware, and got there 30 minutes before they opened. The staff was nice enough to open the inside so that we didnt have to wait in the car. Loved the experience of having the tastings in test tubes.
MoreWe were truly surprised with the full body, quality and flavor of these wines. I recently ended my membership with a great Napa winery due to the cost. I am enjoying my membership with Waltz Vineyards.
MoreMember three years, introduce friends and clients to this Estate Winery to share the excellent quality SE PA grapes harvested into lovely full bodied reds and delicate whites..light n sweet selections as well as dryer n more savory reds. There are also selections in-between for any palate. Fine private as well as public tasting venues.
MoreI visited their tasting room for a Lititz second Friday tasting event. I dont drink wine very often but the Baron Red and Barred Rock Red were fantastic. I would definitely seek them out as they have great wines for every occasion. Well done!
MoreLovely tasting room, and great visit... But the bottles I bought and brought home (all 6 of themhave been terrible. Do NOT taste like what we tasted at the tasting room. At $30 to $45 a bottle, the prices are not worth the end product.
