Worst "Christian" school... the administration is HORRIBLE! We were lied to more than a few times. Save your money, go elsewhere! The kids father filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau-- and dont listen to whoever answered this comment... the kids father was in the same meetings and saw the horrific treatment our ADHD child received.. it was DISGUSTING.
We recently moved to the area and Wasatch Christian welcomed my family with open arms. My kids are in the daycare classes and love it here and I feel so confident with their care of my children. They are fantastic with communication, care, and professionalism. We love it here!
To me WCELC isn’t just a daycare, it’s a community. My family and I have been attending for 4 years. I am beyond thrilled with care both of my children have received. We love the teachers we’ve had throughout the years so much that I don’t know where to begin. Not only are they gentle, kind and nurturing , they are educators, intelligent and responsible adults (not “baby sitters”).Some parents might feel guilty sending their kids to daycare but I believe that my kids have been given an advantage from this early learning environment. I have referred many friends and family and will always continue to do so. I’ve also met parents that switched to WCELC from other daycares (including some of the most expensive and highly reputablewho say WCELC is far better maintained, noticeably cleaner and classroom oriented. Based on other’s stories and personal experience, I know other centers do not put the individual focus on children the way WCELC does.Again the teachers I love them all so much . This year we are lucky enough to have Amy again for our younger daughter. Also Mandy I wish we could keep her forever . Chantel too of course!I can’t thank this facility enough. The administration is extremely responsive and professional . They have earned my trust and I respect each of these members. I’m not an easy customer and they always helped me with stride. I only wish I had met Catherine sooner. Thank you for all you do
We have been extremely unhappy with this daycare. Our daughter was left waiting at school by this daycare for nearly 2 hours. The daycare said they were "stuck in traffic" even though the school is 5-10 minutes away. There have been several instances when the daycare did not open at the regularly scheduled time. One time, my husband waited 45 minutes for a sitter to show up and we had to pay another sitter to watch our children. We were told that we should have just left our children with the custodian who was the only person in the building and didnt speak English. When we addressed this with the director, she refused to discuss it and we were told that she didnt want to hear our "sob story." The administration here make endless lame excuses and refuse to take responsibility for their mistakes. Im sure there are a few good employees here but the administration is horrible. Take your kids somewhere else!
These guys are absolutely amazing the staff is friendly and very good with the kids. Plus they have an awesome app that lets you see what the kids have been up to that day.
This is a great place! Everyone is very positive, the class sizes are small, and the class rooms are large and inviting. They also cook all of their food in house, and it is great quality!
We have all of our kiddos at this center. They love it! You can smell a fresh clean scent as soon as you walk in the building. The teachers love my kids and my children have learned a lot. The small class sizes are amazing. As a family who is not from Utah we were so thankful to find this school.
So sad to have to do a review because I actually thought pretty highly of the school/daycare. Do not take your children if they have any sort of disability or behavioral problems. The administration is terrible and their are only select few teachers that actually care about the kids. Sad that I am going to have to take all my children out and put them somewhere else.
The list is so long and the reveiw someone wrote and a kid getting yelled at I believe it could have been my son cause after the first day he started he wanted to leave my house and go stay with his dad for the rest of the summerso I had my son for about a week for the summer and he went back to his dads and he didnt want to come back up and Im wondering if thats why and theres several times Ive picked up my daughter almost every single time when I pick her up she have a full poopy butt andshe also was wearing the same diaper that I put on her when she left my house in the a.m. and I picked her up about 5:30 p.m. my kids were talking about crazy things that happened there and I dont know whether to believe him or not but now Im starting to think that it is true cuz if I have I got from them was not good and I will never take my kids ever again
Never take your kids here. I was threatened by one of the teachers who said she would "personally call dcfs" if I didnt purchase another car seat for my daughter. The car seat she had was thoroughly inspected by McKay Dee hospital before taking my daughter home and was approved safe and passed inspection. These ppl are nuts. The whole situation should have been handled differently, but the director brushed it off like it was nothing.
I have taken my oldest son (now 5here for a little over 3 years and my youngest son (age 1now attends as well. The teachers are great! If my kids ever have an issue they give me a call or tell me about it when I pick them up. My oldest son LOVES the summer camp program where they are taken on 2 to 3 field-trips a week. I appreciate all they do and have done for my kids and would recommend them to anyone.
We love WCELC - We have been going to the school almost five years now, and have enjoyed all of our experiences. We have had three directors and a multitude of staff members and teachers, most persisting throughout the years, and some changing. Through each change, we have learned from each; each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Moms who are new to the daycare experience and have certain great expectations may quit the daycare, look around, and will eventually come back despite the complaints. I looked at other highly rated facilities around my workplace vicinity, up to 20 miles away, and immediately latched onto Wasatch. The cleanliness, safety concerns, attitudes of staff members, and un-deniable concerns for the students in the building and under the staff’s care is extraordinary and top notch. We are blessed to have WCELC in our lives and I have no gripes - My children are getting an individualized and A+ education with teachers that care and are clearly improving their students lives. We will stick around as long as we can!
Do not take you kids here unless all you want is someone to feed them nasty food, put older kids with babies cause your not right on time, or they send teachers home to save money, have your kid with a new teacher weekly, wait over 2 hours for the bus, no communication etc. reporting to the state this place should not have a licence. Do Not let the Christian part fool you
I took my daughter there because I thought it would have caregivers with Christian values and beliefs, it doesnt. I was happy with the place when I first took my daughter because of one certain caregiver. She made me feel comfortable to leave my baby there , but she no longer works there. However I wanted to give the place a Chance even though I felt uncomfortable with the younger caregivers. One in particular is snotty. Never acknowledge me and I doubt she ever cared for my daughter. They make you feel horrible. Would not recommend this place...
*****I ONLY gave this daycare 5 stars so that PARENTS could see this. Back in October of 2015, I was in need for childcare for my children. (Son age 2 & daughter age 3 monthsAt first, I thought that the daycare was kid friendly, inviting to parents, and I loved how they incorporated Christian values in their teachings and everyday operations of the facility. After exactly ONE week of my children going there, I was approached very RUDELY by my infant daughters teacher. With prejudice and without warning, she immediately threatened to "personally call CPS on me." (Her exact words---- Both myself and my fiancé were appalled! Our kids are clean, healthy, well dressed, and happy in and outside of the public eye! The reason why you ask??? Wait for it.... HER CAR SEAT! She spoke with me the day before and told me that she did not like my daughters car seat because it was unsafe and she said it was on recall. Now at the time, my daughter was only 3 months old. Before I left the hospital, I HAD to have a car seat technician inspect the car seat for that reason specifically, and to show both me and my fiance BOTH how to use it properly in our car! Now the next day when she threw the CPS BOMB at us, she notice that the straps between my daughters legs were NOT fastened, although the chest straps were....and theres good reason. When my daughter is riding in the car, she IS ALWAYS BUCKLED IN PROPERLY! BASE AND ALL!!! but when we stop and take her out of the car, for her comfort, I sometimes always unbuckle the part that is between her legs and on her diaper area if were carrying her in her carrier for a short distance. Without the teacher asking us why we do it or whatever, she IMMEDIATELY threatened to call CPS on me. Although I brought it to the attention of the daycares director and wanted to set up a meeting to discuss the issue so that we were all on one accord, she didnt have much to say about it, and said that "she would speak to her." and dully brushed it off. Needless to say a week later i pulled both kids out! I AM AN AWESOME MOM WHO LOVES HER KIDS WITH ALL OF WHO I AM!!!! NEVER IN A BILLION YEARS WOULD I EVER THINK ID BE THREATENED WITH CPS. I mean, it couldve all been avoided by just asking. There are awful monsters in this world who are awful to their children, but I am NOT one of them. With a blink of an eye because of something so silly, my kids could have been gone. Its crazy because I met 2 other people recently who are fighting the state of Utah right now over the custody of their children because of this same exact daycare. DO NOT ENROLL YOUR KIDS HERE @ Wasatch Christian Early Learning Center. YOU COULD BE NEXT!!!!
When I first started taking my son here I really liked it. They have kind of a high turnover rate with their teachers, especially in the infant and toddler room, but he was always very well cared for. However, the more time my son has spent at this care center the less happy I am with them. Hes been through 6 teachers since he started in August. Theyre constantly losing his things, and to top it off, the church that meets at the same location lets the members use the rooms for their kids during Sunday services. They steal things out of the rooms, so diapers, wipes, toys, and clothes are always disappearing. Its sad that there are so many things going wrong because there are a lot of other great things about this place.
This year was my daughters first year in school (Pre-3,and we have been very happy with her experience at Wasatch Christian. The staff is very caring and welcoming, and they go out of their way to really be involved with the students and provide a safe and stimulating atmosphere.I think the pricing is quite reasonable and well worth the value.I definitely plan on continuing my daughter in this school, even though our commute will likely increase when we buy a house.
Any issues in the past in the day care have been fixed and the leadership and staff have all been changed. We can tell you of many kids who get upset when their parents come to pick them up at the end of the day since the kids are having so much fun and dont want to leave. The school is pre-3 up through 6th grade, so one childs past problem with just the day care is not reflective on the excellence of the whole school today.
