Whitley County Family YMCA in Whitley County

The school area is HORRIBLE.One teacher for TWENTY students?Unacceptable. I understand everyone is short staffed currently, but if you cannot staff enough to keep the kids safe why bother.When a child is attacked and the supervisors spend more time finding someone to blame rather than fixing the solution, maybe its time to think of finding a new director.

Great Y, except for the pool schedule. I would swim every afternoon, except it is closed on Mon, Wed. and Fri from 1-3:30 PM. What is the reason for that?

I used to work out here when I had a free membership for the place I worked. I never liked the staff there. All they did was gab at the front desk. I got tired of the trashy body builders cursing up a storm and lazy parents tracking water all over the pool and inside the locker rooms. People need to watch their little kids better as well.Update: Its frustrating how the owner only calls up people who have a negative review. She berated me on the phone for not telling her sooner why I dont like this "Y." Well, when I was working at The C*nt and Fail, I wasnt allowed to say anything negative about the businesses we placed ads with, so get that through your head. They also hire day care workers and teen workers who openly hate children, so way to go there. (Rolling eyes).

Horrible! If your a full-time parent and your son is under 8 they want them in the baby sitting facility period! They cant be anywhere else if you are lifting, lifting "was" the whole point of my ymca membership! I could understand if that was explained to me during the whole tour/sign up, but what was said is that your son can be anywhere in there except the pool without supervision! If they would say until your son is 8 he wont be able to be in here would of been better and along the lines of how I was treated today! Wont recommend this to any fulltime single parents

Great place to be if your into exercising or just to swim, plus they have so much more.

Its a very nice and laid back YMCA. I enjoy my membership and there is always room in the gym to work out.

Friendly staff. Large variety of equipment to choose from with multiple pieces of each typd available to accomodate many members. Building and grounds are kept clean and in good repair.
