Whats not to like about a Wilko
Very useful shop in the centre of town with an excellent range of household and garden items at good prices. My go to shop for household goods in Abergavenny. Dropped back to pre-Covid measures at tills etc. now.
MoreStuff empty on shelfs that I needed
Brilliant bargain store, so many items, for everything from household, office, pets etc. All at reasonable prices, great range and choice, friendly helpful staff
MoreUnhelpful staff. Travelled a distance to collect paint that was put aside only to be told it had all been sold, all 65 litres that was in stock.
MoreNice place to shop. Bob is number one. he is so helpful and easy to talk to and always got a smile on his face. This is just what you need when shopping.
MoreGreat selection of items at very competitive prices very handy shop always gpod customer service .
MoreAlways great to look around and you can get some great bargains in there
Typical WILCO store with a large range of stationery, Health & Beauty & Home items. Helpful & friendly staff.
MoreFriendly and extremely helpful staff, always willing to help
Always end up buying something from their great range of productsr.
Good choice today, ques a bit of a mare though, any staff?Current team coping with patience👍
MoreReally friendly staff so helpful
Couldnt get what I needed and the self service payment set up is the worst I have encountered
MoreThey want everyone to use self service tills so they can cut down on staff and when you pay by card you must press red or green button first before you can pay get your act together wilko if l want to give to charity l dont need wilko to remind me
MoreFriendly staff not enough tills open at busy times though. Requests asking to donate for charity is wrong as the idea of contactless is to avoid contact with keypad therefore avoiding germs etc from passing from person to person. If people want to donate to charity this should be a to private matter and not pressure whilst paying for goods whilst shopping for goods
Moreexcellent friendly store well stocked at reasonable prices--but WHY only one till opened ??People queueing at the one till with a lady standing nearby urging people to "use the card" checkout------for goodness sake open another till.We know why this is not done----management want to say "everybody uses their card" gives them another reason to reduce staff and push us all to self service----same in Tescoes and other outlets.
MoreHelpful staff and prices are reasonable.
Easy to navigate around, staff are polite and helpful and has a wide range of items from hardware to garden.
MoreWilkinson is a retail store sells items including Home wares and accessories , D. I. Y supplies, Cosmetics and hygiene products, Seasonal items, Pet supplies, School materials etc. This store is well laid out on a ground floor with wheel chair access able entrance. Staff are polite, helpful and friendly. There are plenty of tills and choice in this store well worth a visit.
MoreCan always get what I need, even if I need to wait for next delivery. All staff fantastic. Pain in my bum trying to get m/scooter round store as so many isles blocked. Luckily for me I love nothing better than a challenge. As I know they do it in purpose
MoreNot as cheap as they used to be. Stock changes too quickly. Bought a lovely dinnerset for a wedding present, hoped to add to it and they stopped doing it within 2 months. Unfortunately I couldnt afford to buy all in one go at the time, I hoped to spread over 2 months. They dont much in the way of Halloween or Christmas decorations like they used to.
MoreA large store with generous roomy aisles and most household and garden items available at reasonable prices. Online shopping is also available.Stock levels are often pretty low which is a shame and very few staff on the shop floor for assistance.
MoreA DIY store for the Joe bloggs prices are competitive stock levels are are reasonable although I have noticed a lot of the products abroad front of the display units . One of the biggest problems is the general public moving products about so youre picking up to the do you think of the same only when you get to the till and the price isnt what you think
MorePrice as one would expect the staff are friendly and helpful, a large shop with most of the stock in we got what we want in for the first time
MoreFrom bird food to slug pellets theyve got it at the right price.well pleased
Wilko is the best for picking up everything you need....and everything you dont need!! Lol
MoreAs we are in lockdown, you cant get everything off the shelf, but go to Morisons a few metres away and you can get the stuff they wont sell.Everything back to normal mostly, but it is shut all day on Wednesday!
MoreLove visiting this shop. Everything from screws to garden furniture. wallpaper to paints. pet foods. Home furniture to chocolate +sweets, flowers. and medicines, plenty of ideas all at great prices.
MoreWilko is like any other Wilkes??? You know more or less, they will have what you want or need, the prices are competitive, but it does depend on having a little bit better things, and more likely to get a refund or a replacement. So all it has good points and bad points??? You make up your own minds.
MoreAfter being persuaded to "Give us another chance" by the store manager following a previous complaint, Ive patiently stuck with Wilko for nearly a year.....Alas its now time to turn my attention to Amazon. Ive always preferred to support local shops but unfortunately this is now not possible. Loads of missing products and empty shelves, I accept that this is probably a Covid supply chain issue so dont blame Wilko for this inconvenience....however, no staff on the shop floor and only one manned till is down to Wilko. I believe head office are responsible for this and are giving the store manager limited resources when it comes to staff numbers....so "The Suits" are at it again....wreaking havoc with their hair brained cost cutting policies...."The Suits" however need to realise how many customers they are now losing, and once these customers are gone they will not return. My issues here are based on no one to serve me at the checkout as I absolutely loathe self scan....the scanners have no cradles and Im not handling that during Covid, the previous user could be positive ! (WHOS IDEA WAS IT TO FORCE CUSTOMERS TO HANDLE A SELF SCANNER IN A PANDEMIC....VERY IRRESPONSIBLE)....yes they have someone disinfecting them but Ive seen them miss due to being distracted on several occasions. So with great sadness its time to move on.....head office take heed.....youre driving your customers away !
MoreVery poor went in to buy 4 items I always get from there, only one and well over priced
MoreGenerally a very good store mostly everything you may need is stocked.
Good. Got exactly what I wanted at about the going rate. They even let me take my bike in because I forgot a lock.
MoreDIY section not bad, self scan till threw me though some seed potatoes left also shallot sets .tidy like rating of 5
Moresadly, Ive found the "Abergavenny Branch" lacking over the last 12 months. A small majority of staff are helpful, however.......the others are "Obnoxious/Unhelpfull" and Arrogant........some staff are constantly clock watching. Ive been a regular at the store over the years, but I now feel its time to move on to a better supplier. This store is not re-suppling its shelves of goods. . ......B&Ms Abergavenny and Home Bargains are by far better and cheaper. Wilkos Abergavenny, your now history
MoreTodays visit, very impressed by the store assistants who helped with my purchase - 10 out of 10!
MoreGood for toiletries and kitchen essentials.
Love what Wilkos has to offer. So much variety from pet stuff to home wear. The staff are lovely and helpful. Only issue is the till situation. Only one till open and a huge line. Self service for card only. Other than that, highly recommend shop. Just need to sort out the staffing on tills really.
MoreWe were disappointed that they only had one manned till. All the other stations were self scan. Judging by the long queue for that till Abergavenny is not ready for self scanning! Bring back real people. I hope this is just a temporary covid influenced matter.
MoreFriendly, and good customer service, always welcome even during this pandemic, always making sure we can get our things although I find it weird how theyre selling non essential items but wont let you purchase christmas things..
MoreWilkinsons was once a brilliant store, but seems to be suffering from the current economic situation, very poorly stocked, lots of empty shelves. Owners need to help the managers in making Wilkos thrive again, with some new ideas and better purchasing and marketing strategies
MoreI put my shopping back when I realised there were no staff to serve. Self checkout only except for lotteryEmpty shelves. Very sad.
MoreLove shopping in Wilkos, fir a start its the only shop I can relax in at the moment, they are great on the door, always cheery and makes you feel at ease! Plenty of stock on the shelves.
MoreConsidering we are in lock down wilko staff were very clean and helpful and someone cleaning all the trolleys and baskets before you handle them👍👍.
MoreI am disabled and use a scooter to get around and, in the pre-Christmas bustle, I had a couple of negative comments thrown at me by other customers for holding them up by blocking the aisle. It upset me and I was explaining to a friend when a cashier overheard and apologised on behalf of Wilko for the other customers behaviour. Although not the shops fault, it went a long way towards brightening my day once more. WELL DONE, WILKO ABERGAVENNY!!
MoreFor a budget price shop they do have some real good value for money items for sale. Staff were friendly and helpful and shop was very clean
MoreI love this shop great items at low price, staff are very friendly and are willing to help you, store is clean, unfortunately sometimes you can end up in queue however the staff try and serve you as quickly as they can. I would definitely recommend this shop to a friend.
MoreAlways a good selection and polite staff.I use this branch often and a big problem is queuing at the tills. There is often only one till open out of six. I complained about this to the manager, I got a £20 voucher but they didnt open more tills.More people should complain.
MoreGood general purpose store. Well laid out. Clean and tidy. Very helpful staff. Good prices. Special offers seem to change on a Thursday. You can order from the Wilko catalogue online and collect in store.
