My dog loves this dog park! There is a small fenced in area for smaller sizes dogs and a larger fenced in area for big dogs. A covered pavilion in the small dog area is a nice addition.

Good fences, Shaded seating, Water fountain, track around perimeter, three enclosures--large dog, small dog, and training

Love having a dog park locally. Theres a large area for big dogs and a good size area for dogs less than 34 lbs. Small dog area is shady and has water and bowls for dogs, poop bags provided for easy clean up. Picnic tables with a pavilion.

Two big playing areas and one training aera. Small kid pool available for dogs to play in and stay cool. Walking path with several park benches available in each area.

Very clean. As long as pet owners are responsible if can continue to be a great place to take your pets to play

We dont have a dog of our own but we live close to the park and take walks around the dog park often.They ha e separate fenced areas for large and small dogs. There are water stations for the pets and pla es to sit for owners.Very nice. Wish I had a dog tonnage them there.

Fun place to let my fur babies run free and socialize with other dogs. Most everyone else there was friendly as well and kept eyes on their pets to ensure no trouble broke out. It was a very enjoyable experience.

I love this dog park and my dogs do as well. My only concern is some negative annotations that come with some dogs here. If you do come please for the sake of all of our dogs make sure your dog is not aggressive. Otherwise this is a great place! I WROTE THIS ONE MONTH AGO. TODAY WE WENT AND MY AUSTRALIAN SHEPARD WAS BITTEN. it was by a german shepard dog with an older owner. PLEASE WATCH OUT FOR THIS DOG.

Loved this place and it was always so full of friendly dogs and people. My summer in Alabama was definitely fun because of these trips to the parks with my pup.

Sister and brother in law was there with their small dog in small dog side. Their dog had plenty of dog friends there and plenty of room to run and jump around. They also have a shed with tables , park bench , shade trees and a place you can get water or cool your dog down

A very nice dog park where dogs can just run around and be a dog. A nice facility to take your dog to so they can have fun. I walk my dog around Sokol Park and we always have a nice, relaxing, peaceful time. The park grass is kept nicely cut and the garbage cans are always empty. Soccer fields, baseball fields, picnic areas, playgrounds, Masons Place playground which is brand new and seems to always be filled with children and their parents. Wonderful to see after 2020 shut us all at home. You can self-sort your recycling items.... cardboard, glass (brown, green, blue & clear), metal cans, #1 & #2 plastic items, office paper, newspapers, magazines and aluminum cans. A twofer!! Take a walk doing something good for yourself and then do something good for the environment and recycle.

What a great place to take your puppers. My baby and old girl loved the playtime and it’s a wonderful place to walk while the dogs play.

Wonderful dog park. Big dogs and small dogs have separate areas to play. Water wasnt working in large dog park today, but otherwise, fantastic fun for your dog.

Its a great place to walk or run, acres and acres of rolling hills, well-kept, and with nice wooded sections and multiple ponds. Its an ex-golf club, between the VA and the university arboretum. trails on the northeast side are adjacent to several arboretum trailheads for additional walking/running.Not so sure I would bring my dog - crowded in nice weather, so lots of big dogs that form packs, far away from their owners, so they have limited ability to exert control.

Great dog park. They do a good job with keeping the grass up, not as muddy as other dog parks Ive seen. My dog loves it.

I took Tweeter there again today. Its icy cold so we had one part to ourselves. Theres plenty of room. People and their dogs when Ive visited other times usually follow the rules and make it an even more enjoyable experience. Im enjoying the park and I hope others will get their pooches out to make friends and burn off that energy. Have fun!

Clean and well-kept. The other dog owners I interacted with were great about controlling and watching their dogs. It was my dogs first visit and I was nervous. It went well though and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Somebody did steal our Frisbee They dont know it but the reason we werent playing with it was because Tweeter did number 2 right on it accidentally! Lolol! I had rinsed it off and left it at my truck and it was fine when I returned. Well be back though. It was great for Tweeter to run free!

One of the better dog parks Ive been to. The areas for large and small dogs are large and maintenance does a good job of keeping up the grass. Its very popular in the mornings before work and evenings after work. That is the one downside, sometimes owners dont clean up after their dogs or watch to make sure their dogs are playing nice with others. The vast majority of patrons though are wonderful- it is a real community on its own.If your dog does not do well with large groups there is also a training park for all sizes with an agility course. Walking trails are also conveniently located in the main park area.

Great park. there are three dog runs: Big dog (>35lbs), Little dog (<35lbs), and Training/Agility (any size). Each dog run has a covered sitting area as well as park benches throughout as well as a small kiddie pool. You can ussually count on someone else being there daily, especially before noon and after 1700. In the time of Covid-19, I would recommend that those with mobility problems bring their face mask as the covered seating areas can get crowded. Finally, if you have a dog that is still learning to be social, I recommend you take them to the training/agility enclosure. It is adjacent to the big dog park but separated by a very tall fence. This way your dog can socialize and work their way up to joining the friendlier dogs in the big and little enclosures. Sometimes it can be hard if you adopt an agressive rescue, but dont let that frighten you from making the attempt to socialize them. On the whole, most of the people who take their dogs there understand that socialization and pet behavior is a process.

The Wills Dog Park is a dangerous place. It should NOT BE PROMOTED AS KID FRIENDLY. While there are COVID limitations this is serious with the potential of someone getting really hurt and hospital restrictions.Our dog was chased and attacked at the park today. The aggressive dog had our dog on his back trying to bite him, and did bite him at least once, with our dog yelping out for help. Our collie mix naturally ran. A pack of seven previously good natured dogs quickly formed a pack chasing our dog. The pack included a pit bull and other large dogs working together to get our dog who finally made it to me for protection. The original aggressor dog was in front of me by my leg and arm, and refused to go away. I had to yell to protect myself, my dog, and my six year old son. Ive had experience with dogs and attacks on other animals and know how quickly these things can turn really bad, with major injury and death. We left... with no intention of ever coming back. The day resulted in my six year old being bit on his neck and arm when he fell down as well as an education of how clueless dog owners and park management can be about the potential for disaster.TO Park MANAGEMENT: Dog trainers are the experts to control packs when new dogs are introduced. The park has no dog trainer to control the natural pack aggression and attacks. The park is set up where there are only owners who if they try to stop an attack are yelled at by the clueless dog owners who dont understand how packs operate. Please read veterinarian reports on the web about dog parks and the seriousness of injuries.

My wife and I take our two pups here and love it! The facilities are regularly maintained and the community is welcoming. We have plenty of friends who we recognize as well as their dogs. Its one of our favorite spots to take our pups. There is a small and large dog side which helps for dogs that play rough like ours. There is also a training area with agility obstacles. I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

Beautiful and very dog friendly. **warning...if your kid does not like dogs, dont bring them to a dog park. And little foofoo dogs do not go on the big dog side if you dont want them playing with big dogs**But, Scrappy and I had a great time.

Nice park to take your dog. Its nice that they have a section for small dogs and large dogs.

Ive had great experiences here and others not so much. It all depends on which dog owners are there.

This place is horrible I just lost my pet too parvoviris and were pretty sure he got it from this place he wasnt sick until a few days after we left here😭😭 just please be careful

This is a wonderful facility that is much needed and appreciated in our community. (Sokol Park is an excellent PARA park facility, with the Will May Dog Park being contained within it).My only complaint is that I wish it wasn’t “closed (all dayevery Tuesday for maintenance”. How is anyone supposed to know in advance? I took my dogs a few months back, and it just happened to be a Tuesday. I had to load them all up (not an easy task in itselfand drove 15 minutes to get there, only to find it closed at around 11am-12pm...with no sign of any “maintenance” going on anywhere. Not only was it a wasted trip, but my dogs were super frustrated, anxious, and hyper because they were unable to get out of the vehicle to release that pent-up energy. So the drive back home was quite unpleasant for them AND me. Can it not be closed for just 2-3 hrs if maintenance is needed? And maybe in the early AM or later PM hrs?

Wonderful place to take your dog(sin Tuscaloosa. Always well maintained - water bowls and poop bags and toys, covered areas to sit, and always others there with their dogs for yours to play with.

Our Westie,Solomon,loves this place.It is always a pleasure to bring him here. Such a great park to let your dog roam free and a good place for the parents to get some walking in too.Well maintained and spacious. We are Blessed to have such a facility here in Tuscaloosa.

Great park to take your dog(s). There are 3 different sections: training, large dogs and then one for small dogs. Theyve extended the area for the large dogs and added shaded sitting areas. Just be aware not everyone follows the rules (dogs not neutered almost every time Ive been there).

They have done a lot of work on the big dog side of the park and know there is more covered seating and space for the dogs to run. Our pups love it there.

I didnt go to the dog park, instead I was there for Dixie Youth baseball games, though I must say the dogs seemed to be more well-behaved than many of the children. This must be a high-performance dog park because Im pretty sure 75% of the dogs could speak sign language. A couple dogs were even speaking French. Then I saw Air Bud dunk a basketball and thats when I knew that I just dont have the energy for dogs. Ill stick to the low-energy of cats. Wonder why there are no cat parks?

This was my first visit to a dog park. Our two year old daschund had gone through training, and had all her vaccinations. We didnt know if all the other dogs did thid, too.All I can say is "Wow!" Our dog loved it; we loved it. Our dog played nicely with other dogs and they played nicely with her. Our dog just trotted up to random strangers and they loved on her, petted on her, and she went away happy. And it worked both ways! The other dogs came up to us to be petted. And we petted them, loved on them, and they went away happy.It was an incredibly friendly atmosphere. The other dog owners were great to talk to. They shared stories about their dogs, their lives, and answered questions we had as new, first-time dog owners. We now get excited when the weather is nice because its fun for everyone to go.I only wish it was closer or we had one closer. We live at the intersection of I-20 and Skyland Blvd. so, Sokol is a bit of a drive. Im just grateful thats there a nice, well-maintained one in Tuscaloosa. A small container attached near the top of the fence filled with balls and other interesting throwing toys would be helpful. You could label them PARA somehow, but I get the feeling that these people would be nice and not walk off with your property. Thank you again for having such a great dog park!

I, or my girlfriend, have been bringing my spoiled brat (my doghere for over a year now and have always enjoyed our time. The others, that come, are very nice, and its always fun to watch the dogs play together. Would 100% recommend bringing your pup here.

I have visited the park four times with my daschund. The first time was so great that I didnt mind that I had to travel across town to get there. The other three times I went there were large dogs in the small dog pen and the two other pens (large dog pen and training pen). It really didnt bother my pup since he has been socialized with large dogs his whole life. However, today upon arrival there were again large dogs in every pen. This time there were Great Danes in the small dog pen. After a fight broke out between one Great Dane and another dog my dog was so scared he was shaking and wouldnt walk away from the gate to leave. This park is a great place to go if you have a large dog but dont get too excited if you have a small dog and if you have to travel across town like me you might just want to not waste your time.

Separate areas for small and large dogs both sections are fairly large and have benches and shade trees. People and dogs are very friendly.

Della loves it here!!! We go several times a week. She runs and plays then jumps in this bin to cool off a bit. Other dog owners very friendly and everyone respects the park rules. Join us!!

Our family loves to go to the Munny Sokol Park! Its a really nice place to take children and pets. Theres lots of room to walk and even hiking trails in the woods. They also have two large dog parks here. Everything is free. Theres also a really nice playground near the front of the park.

I come to the dog park here every day to let my dog run around for an hour or so. The community is awesome and the facilities are everything you need. The trails are great too! Wonderful park.
