Mom and Dad were born, raised and married in the Coaldale and Tamaqua area and we wanted to bring them home for a final resting place together. I live in Philadelphia and did not know where or how to begin. Zizelmann Funeral Home was recommended without hesitation. All of our wishes for a memorial cemetery burial were handled and made available to us. I had the pleasure of speaking and meeting directly with Eric Zizelmann. Having been associated with the August M. Gulla Funeral Home for 50 years, my mother, Millie Radocha, had high expectations for funeral directors. That said, she would have been very proud and grateful for Eric’s management of her funeral arrangements. Every detail washandled meticulously - from making practical suggestions, to setting up the church for a large viewing, to having Geri accept donations at the viewing, to arranging the meal – no stone was left unturned. In addition, since my mother always commented on a funeral director’s artistry, she would have been very pleased with her appearance. Our family is so appreciative of the “send off” that Eric helped to provide for her with his professionalism and skill set.

Over the last six years, we have lost my Mom, my Dad, and my Aunt. Each of their deaths occurred differently, but all were a huge loss for our family. Each time we turned to Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home to make the arrangements. Not only was their staff helpful and professional, but Eric and Jon showed great compassion, kindness, and understanding as they helped us plan each burial. When my dad died unexpectedly last August the Zizzleman family was helpful and compassionate during this time; they are not only funeral directors but also help in answering any questions; they provide a sense of hope during these helpless times during a loss!

In January of this year my mother passed away and Jon, Eric, and Cheryl showed such compassion, and professionalism in helping us with her arrangements. Her service was beautiful and I couldnt say enough how much that meant to our family. Thank you all for everything you have done.

This funeral home has been serving my family since the early-1980s. Most recently, in the death of my great-aunt and great-uncle, they went above and beyond. When a conflict arose in our family over the dispensation of our loved ones cremains, Eric Zizelmann showed tremendous forbearance, compassion, and exceptional communication. He acted as an intermediary between estranged family members and kept us informed of all proceedings in a timely manner. Erics professionalism and compassion played a key role in amicably resolving the situation.

I contact the funeral home to attempt to find out info on my Grandparents who immigrated to Pennsylvania from Poland in the early 1900s. The secretary was very cordial and professional and Eric was fantastic. He was able to locate info I needed concerning my Grandparents and family members. Great job and thanks to all.

Earlier this year, Zizelmann/Gulla helped our family plan a beautiful funeral for my 88 y.o. great-uncle. We had to wait quite a few days for the service; Zizelmann/ Gulla were patient and kind as I had to coordinate many out-of-state arrivals and many decisions after my great-uncles long illness. Losing a loved one is never easy, but Eric and Jon Zizelmann made this experience effortless for myself, my brother, and my 2 nephews. From the initial contact after losing my brother, Tom, to the last minutes of his Celebration of Life, the staff was very kind and compassionate to our family. I could not have asked for a better person to help me with something I had no idea about.Like most things, people from my generation use the Internet to look up where to eat, places to go and fun events. The passing of my mother-in-law was so sudden that we didnt have a plan or anyone to call to help.I called around 1130pm on that horrible night and talked to the phone receptionist who told me I would receive a call back. You would think that would be sometime in the morning but I was called back within a few minutes. Eric was able to help me through the whole process in the most professional and courteous way possible. He was very respectful and thorough.It sounds like your typical review but just remember that you only get one chance to do a final goodby and I think that they did a great job. I hope that I dont have to use there services for a long time, however they will be the first place that I call.Thank you again Eric for all your help through this very stressful and sad time.

John and Eric are, hands down, the best in the business. They handled a very large viewing and funeral for my father in rather short order including naval honors and a fire truck escort to the cemetery flawlessly and coordinated a meal for an overcapacity crowd at Trinity Church which was excellent. Our family cannot thank them enough for making this difficult time easier to handle
